I also fell prey to the surprise paywall after editing a document for over an hour. I started the free trial and do like the features and ease of use. I have encountered some glitches in the first week but if they don't continue to be a problem, I will keep it. It REALLY is in their best interest to be more upfront in the beginning to avoid the appearance of them being a scam. It isn't a scam, it is just poorly presented. I hate Adobe and I refuse to pay their high prices so this $8 basic seems reasonable so far.
