IT DOESN'T WORK! I still have to do a MANUAL history wipe.

I think it works well. 5/5 would recommend.

Oh it works alright......... by default everything is selected including passwords. It's called auto history wipe, just that history not wipe out the whole google profile of the user. Stay far far away of this extension.

I've used this extension for at least four months now. I've not had any viruses or malware (Yet...). Works as intended. Thanks!

Keeps Signing me out of sites, I have it set to not delete cookies and only auto form data and yet I keep getting logged out of certain sites like Amazon.

As David Mace pointed out, as long as you have Google Sync disabled, this extension works great at wiping out the history whenever you restart Chrome browser.

A much needed extension that is simple to use and gets the job done.

It used to work. Now it doesn't. I have looked up and tried numerous fixes, but it doesn't help. It's crazy there isn't a native feature or at the very least an extension that will actual do this... It should be so simple. I guess I will have to write my own.

Works as expected on Microsoft Edge Chromium. It works best if you are not signed in. :)

Despite DESelecting the checkbox to remove passwords, this app deleted every single one of hundreds of logged-in cookies that were being preserved within CCleaner. That is requiring me to re-enter the passwords on all of those sites all over again. There is only one brief options screen, listing about eight items from which to choose for removal, each described in only one or two words such as 'cache,' 'local data,' etc. So if you start checking off and using some of these options, you pretty much taking a shot in the dark as to what will actually be removed.

This extension no longer clears "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" at least in Chrome 77. Reinstalling the extension did not help.

It will only work if i close the Browser, what is about if i want to clear the history when i close the tab and not whole browser?

This now has stopped working, ever since the last update on chrome. Notice that this has not been update since 2015 so looks like thats it for this extension. Shame it was a good one to have. Noticed that there are alot more extension that have stopped or gone since the last update.

Adds a delay on web browser load that interferes with painting a web page. Often I start Chrome to have it load a specified URL. I get a blank page. Not an error, but just a blank page. I have to reload the page to get its content. This started after installing this app and is likely due to the time it takes to do cleanup on Chrome's startup that interferes with Chrome loading the page. With this extension disabled, Chrome successfully paints the web page when Chrome loads. This happens so often that the nuisance is too great. I'll go back to exiting Chrome and then click on a toolbar button that runs CCleaner ("ccleaner.exe /auto"). It's a manual process that I have to remember, but then having to click the Reload button or press F5 in the web browser is also a manual process.

It's super dumb that Chrome doesn't have this as a default setting, like Firefox. This extension fills that gap and works easily. One feature request though: if it could also auto clear your recent tabs list that would be awesome. I haven't found a way to do that and so my tabs show up on my mobile browser from my PC.

Check this when offline: It does not clear your history when Chrome is restarted! So probably it breaches your privacy and does not do what it is supposed to do (clear the history) unless that info is sent and logged in its own servers. The application provider should provide an explanation on this!

First A WARNING: Google likes to sneakily 'forget' your 'sync' settings, after updates. Changing 'channels' or doing a power wash will also 'forget' this setting, and sync and restore EVERYTHING, by default. If you have 'sync' enabled, Google will save your history to one of its servers, and restore it 'for you'. Cookies, history, forms, passwords and all. So, uh... 'convenient'. So be sure to disable the relevant portions of google sync, or your history will keep popping up in your face, intact. As you can imagine, it makes this plugin look 'broken' when you forget about 'sync', and it gets quietly enabled again. Anyway, does what it's supposed to. Would rather it 'forgot' on exit, as well as on open, but I suppose google provides no such convenient hook.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, it's such a great app but the problem is that the button is not appearing on my tool bar

It works fine but each time I start Chrome the screen flashes an error message for ~1 sec before loading my startup page. Your connection was interrupted | A network change was detected. | ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED If this extension is disabled, I do not get the above error message whenever I launch Chrome. Also, I'm not sure if this plays a role but I have "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" Disabled in Settings.

Great idea, but doesn't delete EVERYTHING in your history. Always seems to leave a few behind. Improve that, and I'll re-install and increase my rating.

Excellent! Removed "Click&Clean" for this, as it does a much better job.

Despite ticking "clear browser history", my history never clears. Which rather negates the claim to be "auto history wipe".

Was working great before, but now, it prevents my Homepage to load properly. When I open a fresh Chrome window, my Homepage will not load unless I press on the Home Button. Before, it used to go straight to my Homepage upon opening a Chrome window. When I disable this app, my Homepage loads up fine and normally as before. It's a shame that it was the reason for my Homepage not loading! Sad to stop using it, will come back when it's fixed!

Doesn't work all the time!

The apps settings reset itself everytime I restart my computer or restart the browser- so my history is not wiped upon opening or closing. So rendering it pretty much useless.

FLAW in program. So in windows 7, if you right click on the chrome icon in the taskbar, it shows your recent history. once you open chrome, its cleared but, until then...history can be seen.

Does not work at all! Got into trouble with the wife because of it! Ridiculous! Latest i7 Dell Laptop.

This extension is good because it works unlike the NoHistory extension though it could improve by deleting history on a adjustable basis (few minutes)

only app in store that does what i want it to do. it deletes ALL DATA on it's onw.

Auto History Wipe does exactly what it says. No longer do I have to open an app that's been tracking my entire history, then click a button to erase that history. Auto History Wipe asks for no permissions (unless you enable extra features after install), and works before Chrome starts. That way, it doesn't have to get into all your goodies or run in the background. Genius!

Just what I've been looking for to easily clear my private data. Very lightweight and only runs at startup so it uses no memory when browsing.

Works well from what I've tested, but I'm no expert. A nice plugin if you want the benefits of Incognito but still have your tabs saved.

When I select "Clear cookies and website data" it doesn't let my homepage load. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend it.

This extension is smart and elegant. By cleaning Chrome's history each time Chrome starts, you keep history-related features working (Reopen Closed Tabs, etc..) while still keeping your history clean. Certainly a necessary browser feature that Chrome lacks :)
