Great simple program for non-expert user to monitor when my router connection is going down. I have a mesh system and was able to use this to monitor the ethernet connection of each satelite separately to determinine which satelite was loosing connection to the main router. Found it!
A very good informative interface, Thanks. Could you elaborate more regarding the algorithm you use to determine "connection-down"? I assume ICMP is used... Do you distinguish between an accidental drop and a real connection lost...?
This is an awesome and simple tool. I was having problems with my connection dropping constantly and initially I thought it was a problem with my ISP since I recently moved to 5G internet. With this extension I was able to figure out that I had in fact a faulty usb-c port (the one I was using for my ethernet cable. I bought an ethernet to usb adapter instead and have had zero connectivity problems since then. Great work!!
A handy extension if you are having connection issues.
This is great! and the only way I can show to my provider whats happening with my internet. Unfortuately my provider says just to ignore this app and cant fix the problem.
Thanks for your help in revealing, objectively, how bad my ISP is. The graphics in the statistics are clear to understand. Somewhere recently the connection log added a third column show the duration of the status. That was a nice upgrade as I used to export the data and drop it in a spread sheet to calculate the duration. Now the data can be used as is.
Simple and works as required. Perfect!
That is exactly what I need to very quickly monitor mobile internet connection.
It works amazing, it detects when internet goes offline instantly, the only thing I wish I could choose a different notification sound so I can hear it better , the current one I can barely hear it even at full volume, can you please add more notification sounds ? Cheers
Works great for me!
Worked exactly as advertised, helped me show my ISP when my connection was dropping.
Doesn't catch all disconnects. Run "ping -t IP" from windows command prompt and it catches all of them (ones that this app didn't catch).
good app . but need use service worker . 40 mg memory usage is bad
Great simple app. My ISP was telling me my internet is just fine but I was able to show them the log with all the drop outs and they started working on the problem (not that they resolved it so far).
Great tool. We have a main router that reaches 100% cpu load during the day and this tool is great for logging the number of disconnects and the duration of them
8 fantastic years of work on this project. Love it! ❤️ By supporting this project - you support freedom and intelligence, democracy and trust, Ukraine and its people! ??
Wow so simple but helped me figure out why I kept on getting disconnections. Apparently I had 2 connections running to my switch from my modem and giving me disconnections every few mins for the last 8 months. I have a large network so it was impossible to find without knowing when the disconnections stopped if it was a constant disconnect it would be easy but it was intermittent so i would have to disconnect a wire see if anything went down and see if it messed with my signal
My internet is dropping out in and out sometimes and I've been trying to figure it out. This app does not identify any issues when clearly I lose internet connection. What could that mean? Does that mean it's not my internet and my hardware ?
Works great so far. Thanks a lot. Very helpful. Lost internet connection several times while writing this short review alone! Haha. The sound indicator is a very helpful feature. Nice UI design as well with good options and not confusing in any way. Well done.
It works like a charm thank you for making this, If there was an Android version for this that would help a lot, also the Print or Export to PDF option only shows printing option and not exporting, also it would be great if the icon (yellow, red) also got recorded since it's confusing b/w "No internet connection" and "No internet connection. Wi-Fi/Ethernet OK"
Just what I needed. I think my connection is dropping out very briefly. Too short for the extension to catch on a PC connected via ethernet, but my PC connected via wireless shows many disconnects. Thanks for this app!
Very useful and accurate to check internet connection drops
the log does not show the connectivity in a continuous timeline so it's no good if you want to use it to prove to your internet provider that access was down. it only logs the lack of connection for like 10 seconds then shows no entries until it gets a successful connection whatever amount of time later. so you have no positive proof to show your internet provider for the downtime gap. so the log is worthless.
It works absolutely & very accurate. Keep it up developer. Nice job done.
Great tool!! Very accurate, friendly and useful. The log file is fantastic. Very good job.
Great extension to help provide information to the ISP so they could fix internet problems. It totaled 71 disconnects over 24 hours yesterday. Today the log shows ~40 disconnects but the summary drop down only shows 6 disconnects in 24 hours. Is something wrong with the summary pulldown? Am I not understanding the summary "Disconnects, 24h" properly? Thanks
Helpful.
I think I'm in love (time will say).
Nice thing developer, Just Need more Details like if Wi-Fi goes off and I connect with my mobile data , I would not be able to track the connectivity of my Wi-Fi (only). That is a must add on feature into this extension. Thank You.
I couldn't figure out how to change what the icon looks like, but it showed me exactly what I felt was happening. Now I can have a log explaining the issues my computer/internet is having. Hopefully with the log as evidence the internet service provider (ISP) will fix it so that my internet will stable like it used to be.
It was really helpful to prove to my Internet Service Provider that while the speed on my internet was fine there were clearly multiple disconnects in an hour over the course of weeks. So Thank You for a very useful app.
accurate and doesn't require any special permissions, very good!
Historic logs are not available I have not synced it gmail id. Do in need to ? Cant login gmail.....it's for diiferent purpose
Kindly send a notification to win10 as an eye catcher for my using this extension in a silent environment. Besides, the duplicated Internet disconnection log could be merged as one item intelligently.
No extension icon once installed so pretty useless for me as cannot get to the info
Excelent extension. Very useful to mesure the performance at home. I would just suggest to add a direct button to reset the parameters
Great extension to monitor my network and gather information to send to my provider to help troubleshoot.
Installs and then the small icon disappears and there is no way to get it to reappear. I had to reinstall it and quickly right-click the icon before it disappeared in order to "pin" it. Why would you do this? What a waste of time for a dumb bug.
This extension Gives notification only when the internet connection comes back. can I get notification for latency also, For example, If the Latency Value comes between 10ms to 70ms. I want a notification, Can I get it
Exactly what I was looking for - very much appreciated!
When trying to troubleshoot my internet / wifi issues, this was extremely useful. I was able to find out that the wifi was not disconnecting, although the internet was regularly dropping out. The internet connection was actually still there from the router, so this helped me determine the wireless signal strength was what was intermittently dropping out (while the wifi connection persisted). An invaluable tool in my problem solving.
fake
Got a new PC and noticed my internet connection was dropping every few minutes for a few seconds. I wanted to check the exact frequency and this extension does just that. No complaints.
A very useful tool to keep the ISP in check ,just show the log and all their excuses vanishes into thin air
Fantastic little tool that just works! Thanks a ton.
The beauty of this is its simplicity. Go elsewhere if you want speed reports, but this will accurately tell you how many times and when you lost connectivity. Note that if you close Chrome, it won't be running, so the next time you open ICM, it's report will look as if you were connected the whole time. However, if Chrome is running, even if your PC goes to sleep it will report dropouts. Excellent.
Great little add-on. I can easily look over at my 2nd monitor if I think Im having connection issues. Would be nice if it showed DL speeds , but Its a great help anyway. I really like that it now has an Internet connection log that I can save as a .pdf
Works amazingly well, and the log is super useful for complaining to my ISP. It's great that I can show them a log of all the times their service has dropped.
I love this, I wish we could be diff sounds but this works great!
Hi, works as it describes, super extension. Thank you for your work! I would like to ask, how could I change the sound notification to an another sound/alarm (or make it longer, repeated)? I many times doesn't hear it and therefor it could be easily missed in case of someone watching movie, or listening music, or you're simply in a little bit loader, not silence environment. Thanks!
This has been so helpful. I have a new broadband connection and there has been very frequent internet downtimes. Using this Chrome extension I was able to have a complete log of when and how long each downtime occurred and the log serves as a good piece of evidence to my ISP.
Works perfectly.
Simple yet very useful extension.
Make sure to look at the responses to the reviews by the developers. Memory leaks, lack of a log showing time/dates, these are things of the past. Great extension. All I want to know are the times when my Internet is cutting out. However I downloaded like 4 other applications to monitor this, all of which were totally overkill for my purposes and way beyond my tech ability (and I'm definitely above-average computer literate). This simple extension is great! Just what I was looking for! Thanks dev!
excellent extension!!! very helpful!!! good job!!
For me, it is kind of useless. If you can't tell that your internet is not working, then you don't have a problem anyway. It's simple, if you can surf the internet, you have an internet connection. If you can't, then you don't. Besides we already have warnings that we don't have connection. Either via our OS, browser and or icons at the top of your phone or at the bottom of your computer. I don't see the point in this program. It doesn't log any info or track when the connection is lost or how many times the connection is broken. So it's just another little icon that tells you what you already know.
Can you also show speed of the internet consumption...
Works pretty well .thanks dev :)
Very accurate. It really just showed me how crappy the people working on the Australian NBN are. At least I know when my WiFi isn't working. Good job.
Inform when internet are coming back. Very great! Thank you!
I was expecting that this would log the time offline/online. I am not sure what the purpose of showing when I am offline, every browser, etc., will do that.
This is a great little tool. It would be nice if it logged the date and time for the outages that it detected.
Very clean and helpful extension. Thanks!
Works fine, but you must disable internet and extension for 1st time to get it work
Excellent! This extension is hard to find but it does what it is said perfectly - nice sounds, nice icon! Thanks! UPDATE: the extension is very leaky and can easily eat up to 0,5GB+ of RAM
unfortunately, as another reviewer has pointed out, it doesn't seem to do anything or ever change status, even when the internet link goes down. Perhaps it only checks every ten minutes, or perhaps it is only checking the wifi state, and not the TCP/IP connection. I installed it to monitor the status of a flaky hotel connection and it doesn't help at all :-(
It is worthless. I'm on an unreliable hotel wifi connection which is why I wanted this extension. I lost my wifi connection completely and the extension still said I was online.
Very nice application and works nicely. I recommend this.
