A long time ago i went on the reviews for netop and found a way to get rid of it, so now i will show you how. Go to this website: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions Scroll down until you find one that says netop (it might be in green, thats how it was for me) clcik on it and type revoke access (it might say remove or something else idk) then sign in and out of your chromebook and it should be gone

what the ACTUAL heck... my wife downloaded this so i stop looking a t pron. now shje spyes on me while i am gaeming have i mention i am ag amer. so after i used the net op. its not overpowered net. it just spies on you now my wife is looking at my criminality bounty and joining my server with slayer kit to kill me. i hate this app, she caught me grinding at vibe check and came down there to kill me. i had to blok her now and black her from rel life. sadly, trhiss no work. hopeful next time tnhis app do better.

this is the worst app ever like delete it of the web store i can not play a game for 2 sec with out the notifacation poping up of the screenshare like i want to play one game for 3 sec just let me and i had to go to my own pc just to revew bc my school blocked it

(im using my personal acc to write this cause the chrome store is blocked on my school acc) so in theroy i dont have too much against it but my teachers can pretty much see a screen recording of what is happening on my screen, and yes i know its the schools property you should use it correctly blah blah blah but sometimes i need to wind down with google snake and im a good student so idk... and another thing, i use my school acc on my personal laptop before they gave out the school chromebooks and i just prefer to use my personal laptop and the teacher can see what im doing at home, for all i know they might be watching me write this so yeah, and if a teacher is watching this, enjoy looking at my digital art sketches that have a lot of gore, you did this to yourself

This is a invasion of privacy, students should be able to have fun at home, it tracks you when your at home and records your history.

why?! just why?! i ended up removing my school account from my laptop due to this disgrace to the world. but in grade 4,on the school chromebooks, i actually managed to turn off notifications from chrome and then the screen share thing, or the 'attention' pop-up wouldn't come on my chromebook.

Literally an Invasion of privacy. This extension is really just spyware, but I have a little solution to this. 1: if you have an old school account that you don't use anymore, sign into your chromebook with that. 2: then with your main school account, sign into google with it 3: make sure your old account isn't connected to any google classroom And there you go! feel free to goof off in class without your teachers knowing! if you're wondering how I know this works, I'll simply explain. One time during my math class, we were told to go testing on I-Ready, and of course I signed into my old school account. Then when I decided to go onto another website, the screen block showed up and I was wondering how the teacher could access my screen to my old google account. Then I realized it was because I had the old school account on one of the active google classrooms and quickly un-enrolled myself from the class.

I feel like this is an invasion of privacy and should be taken off they can use it to look at your own computers you have because of the sync so we are forced to have. I understand and to an extent agree with the *principle* of this extension--for middle schoolers and younger who can't be expected to understand or take full responsibility for the consequences of their actions. However, it's also a major invasion of privacy that our school system never bothered to inform us about, and also constantly glitches and reloads google docs and academic stuff that I'm working on. Overall, it's a useless waste of both storage and time, but it's nice to know that this is what my school puts its resources towards instead of giving the library funding or cracking down on the student's racism that got us on the news! /s

I FOUND A WAY AROUND IT first go to account settings, then go to privacy settings within. you can scroll down untill you see Netop Vision Student and click, REMOVE ACCESS. then log out of your account and log back in and U R FREEEE

Its an invasion of privacy. They already block like everything on my schools Chromebooks, so I don't get the need of it. I think that schools should trust us to pay attention and if you don't it's your own problem. People are still going to not pay attention so ya. I say delete it if you can. I've found a way around it but I can't say how because that risks it being patched. If we get this to 1 star then bam they will delete it from the web store.

You can disable this on a school chromebook by: Go to Google Account>Security Scroll down until you see "you use your google account to sign into X amount of sites" click on it Click on Netop vision Click remove access

I have my school and home account on my chrome book and now im pretty sure that it has synced with my personal account. Also this is a utter piece of garbage, it just really annoying. I also dont want the school to have access to my mic, and my account library mostly because i have many games on it and my account has money loaded on it and i dont want the school to have access to all of that and its nearly impossible to uninstall because only the school "admin" can do that.

Guys I know how to not be seen by teachers when you get a notification to turn it on click the x.

It watches your computer, that on its own is one of the main reasons I hate this thing. And I can't uninstall it because it's enforced by an administrator

please stop with the reviews that say this violates my rights I talked with someone at netops it only works if you and your teacher are on the same WiFi but obviously it is annoying which is why I am giving it 2 stars

I'm pretty sure this meets a lot of requirements for invasion of personal privacy, if I want to use an account on my home computer that has this enabled, the person controlling the teacher extension can see what happens on my home computer.

Here's a helpful tip! If this *damn* app keeps giving you pop-ups, click the little gear at the top right corner. There's an option to stop notifications. I did this when my school got this extension (4 months ago) and haven't had a pop up since

I strongly dislike it but I found out these cheap dudes have some many holes in their program. There are like 5 ways to block netop and their stupid requests

Guys, I understand that this is an invasion of privacy, but it's for the law and so the school and the teachers don't get in trouble. I have read through some reviews, and I noticed that when you get home and get on your Chromebook, your teachers can see everything you do, all you need to do is log out, log on/make new account, and done! I also think that some reviews are a waste of time to read because I don't think this app needs over 9,000 reviews just saying that it's an invasion of privacy. You can just agree that it is helpful! I think that most of the people writing these reviews are at least under the age of 13, so that's why your schools use this app! If the government finds out that you're doing something inappropriate, they will fire your teachers and take them to jail, and I think that you don't want that, so just leave the app be and get a new account to play on at home. Sorry if you've gotten this far into the review, I just saw all this and had a LOT to say! Thank you.

For those saying "it's an invasion of privacy" remember the school owns the account it just uses your name. it's the school's right to see what you are doing on their account plus it is not suppose to be for personal use and the they can only see your screen if you are on the same network(WiFi) as them. the only reason why I give it a 2 star rating is because if I have the school account connected to chrome on my personal laptop due to school policy It will automatically be installed and when I use my laptop after school on campus on school WiFi it can be used to "invade my privacy" only because it is able to see my whole screen even when i'm not using chrome.

No privacy whatsoever. When it asks you to share your screen it already shows your screen without your permission. This app needs a serious update if you want people to like it, which will probably never happen. Privacy is very important to some people and at least ask for permission before letting people view your screen.

COMPLETE GARBAGE

The extension is super creepy! It demands for you to share your screen and doesn't stop harassing you until you do. It took me forever to type this out because it refuses to stop. Why would I say yes to allowing some creepy extension watch what I'm doing and screenshare with who knows who could be watching? It takes me forever to do work now all because I demand privacy. It's annoying and prevents work, don't use it! Edit: There is somewhat of a bypass to keeping people from stalking your screen. Just keep pressing the escape key when it keeps popping up. That's the best I can say honestly. Or you can surrender to the app to let it share/potentially store your data with who knows what overseas creeps it's sharing with. EDIT: Apparently it can also block out the screen when the teacher tells it to, like when they need to explain something to the class, which is the one good idea this has. The thing is though that it only distracts the students more! How? Well, the teacher did it once in my class and everyone, instead of paying attention, spent time fiddling with the screen attempting to find a work around, therefore defeating its purpose and only being a bigger distraction than help.

Alright, like others have said, it is a good concept. HOWEVER, you can easily get around this extension. Think about it, it is very hard to make a program that is not overridable. There WILL almost always be a way to get around it. You can ignore this review and get this this extension OR actually listen to me. THIS EXTENSION DOES NOTHING. The last thing I want to say about this is that it is NOT AN INVASION OF PRIVACY. If it is, simply talk to your teacher/administrator and they will understand. Here is why it is NOT an invasion of privacy. A. Like I said you can get around this. B. The reason it asks to share your screen is (usually) because teachers forget to turn the extension off at the end of the day C. You may have CHOSEN to use to use your home account as your school account D. Finally, you are probably using a school computer. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THE SCHOOL HAS EVERY RIGHT TO MONITOR THEIR OWN PROPERTY. All in all, I find this app somewhat useful JUST to monitor. And not even that.

Okay, I looked at this, and believe its a good concept IN THEORY. Though, It has the chance to sync with the google account, so lets say you go home, and sign into your school account. This extension can and MAY sync with that account. meaning Teachers can see what you do on your PC at home. I haven't had this happen to me yet (Thus why I rate it two stars and not one) Though reading most reviews, this is what I believe is happening. To those on here thinking they are a hero for going on here and saying its just an invasion of privacy because they can see what you do on THEIR chromebook, (Or PC) and that its an invasion of privacy, Im sorry to tell you, but you're wrong. I believe that if they fixed the sync issue, It would be a great thing. Or for it to only see what you do on your browser. It can be an invasion of privacy, But only because of a bug. I dont believe it is PURPOSEFULLY harmful in any way.

i'm in the middle of one class when all of a sudden i get this notification and in my school only my spanish teacher uses it and i'm in language arts so i'm just minding my own business then it pops-up again and again over and over just get rid of this please.

I won't lie I goof off during class, the concept of this app is okay, but when I go home I want to watch stuff, play games. All in my privacy, but this app takes all that away. I have some... odd teachers, I would rather them not be looking through my webcam. As the student, I give no consent. This app has been on my chromebook since 4TH GRADE, I haven't taken a second glance at it till' now. Take this app down, as an American I have the right to my own privacy.

I hate this software but i did find a glitch. So when the teacher blocks your screen (no peeking etc) close your chromebook and open it up and sign out and turn off wifi login and if you have any games stored offline you can play

Why do students need to be watched? Teachers are already able to see the websites we went to and what we search! How do we know they are not watching what we are doing after and before school hours? That is an invasion of students privacy. This is a quote from our student handbook, "devices are not used to infringe on the privacy of other students or of staff. When not being used under teacher supervision, the district policy is “no visible/no audible” in most cases."

It automatically installed an on-screen keyboard and I can't disable it. If I click anywhere to type it just pops up.

I'm a high school student that actually agrees with this being used in schools. The majority of my fellow students are constantly using their school-issued Chromebooks inappropriately, and they even had online Tetris competitions in the middle of class. The school should have the right to monitor our screens because the Chromebooks do actually belong to them. Up until recently, I would have given this 4 stars (some changes could make it better). What changed my thoughts is the fact that it downloaded on my younger brother's PERSONAL laptop, and he can't get rid of it. He has never brought it to the school, so it downloaded at home from his school email. I think this is just outrageous.

The idea of the app makes perfect sense, for teachers to be able to watch over and manage STUDENT activity. Not personal activity, your school has every legal right to add this to your SCHOOL account/computer. It is not breaking any laws because you parents (sometimes even you) have to sign a privacy disclosure form. So all of you judging this app because you think it's unfair/illegal you are wrong. You should only rate this app based off it's software performance. For what it does it is a great app.

It's a good thought, having the teachers watch our screens. But if a message pops up saying something about your personal life, the teacher has no right to see it. Sometimes Facebook can send me notifications of when something is going on and I don't want my teacher to see that. I would give more stars if it didn't invade the fellow students' privacy. I know about the agreement where the teachers can see our screen, but still it wasn't very well executed. Nice thought though. Maybe if there was a feature where the teachers can ONLY see the URL of the website we're on, then it might be better for us.

Only works on LOCAL Networks, for anyone who is worried about their teacher watching their activities at home - this won't allow them to. As for the "Invasion of privacy" Did you read your school's Acceptable Use Policy - Universally there is a no expectation of privacy statement.

This extension has glitches and doesn't work correctly. I think it should be removed from chrome store. Sometimes my computer and my child's computer shut down, causes lag and even exposes our passwords.

Freezes my computer 5-10 seconds every minute. Wow thanks really helpful.
