If you manage more than one page, this extension is totally broken. It keeps saying you need to switch back to your personal profile and when you switch back, you get taken to some basic HTML version of Facebook, so for that reason I can't use it. If you only have your personal profile, it works fine. I used it for hiding posts I've viewed already to keep my feed clean and it appears to do that well. It would be great if there was an option to hide "Suggested" posts as well.

No longer working and it seems very little effort being made to fix it. They haven't even bothered to update the description in the Chrome store, stating that it now works with the "new" Facebook layout!

Disabled sponsored posts, refreshed the page and the first thing that comes up is a sponsored post.

It was great while it lasted, but it was abandoned and no longer works as of July 2022.

It recently stopped blocking sponsored posts. And apparently this extension hasn't been updated since 2021, so that might not be a good sign

Doesnt work, Trying utilize all setting like subcribe to filter and add keyword filter, all sponsored post still show up. Yes I'm saving the setting and reload the page.

Ads reappeared, possible patch maybe?

I've been using it for a long time and it's a good extension. Unfortunately it has ceased to block "sponsored" ads as of 15 July 2022.

News feed now loads slow and most of the times doesnt load at all after installing this. avoid this extension at all costs.

There is no option to remove side panels/columns as mentioned in the overview

It's not blocking sponsored posts which is why I installed it... Had to search for an alternative and luckily found BlockZilla - it works like a magic, highly recommend it.

Would've been nice if it could totally remove and HIDE ADS permanently without clicking it manually in the settings

It's not blocking "sponsored" pages, which is the whole reason I got it!

EDIT: they are on top of it. There is a fix for it. It is working fine now. From their support group: *** THE FIX *** wrench > Hide/Show Parts of the Page; click 'Done Hiding'; reload the page. It was working fine, but today I had to disable it since the main timeline gets hidden, all of it. I made no changes to the configuration since forever, so not sure what is going on.

It claims to do so much but barely works. The only partial thing I was able to do was block annoying hashtags on a board game feed, even though 50% still get through and annoy me. I still see 'suggested' posts even though that option was enabled.

There is a giant date & time stamp over every post that I cannot remove. This is a HUGE inconvenience and I will most likely uninstall this extension since I cannot read posts with it installed. 2 stars only because features work as intended.

I've used SFx for many years. It truly helps me not lose my mind when trying to navigate Facebook. The creator Matt and his great moderators are always so helpful in the SFx User Support Facebook page as well. Truly wonderful product. Facebook should be happy it exists as it's keeping so many people ON Facebook by being able to tweak thing more to their liking.

Used to be good, but the consistency of red dot notifications kept increasing to indicate new updates or bug fixes, so it always looked like I had a notification. Even when I tried to dismiss it it would come back a few minutes later. I ended up deleting the extension to get rid of the red dot and haven't noticed a change in quality of life.

Finally I was able to hide an annoying hashtag on one of the groups I joined, it kept flooding my feed. Thanks for this!

I have been using this for ages now and never thought to leave a review. I absolutely love social fixer. I was about ready to leave Facebook all together when I found this lovely extension that fixes so much of what bothers me about Facebook. Now I also use the old layout extension made by the same guy. Honestly Matt, if it weren't for you I would absolutely hate Facebook...which is sadly the best way I have of keeping in contact with friends and family on the other side of the country. Please keep doing these, and know that your efforts are sincerely appreciated!

I use "Cent Browser" latest version, and the extension works perfectly along with other extensions without conflict or errors. I would have donated if I'm rich or have enough income. An excellent way to hide posts you don't want to see! I rely on this for sanity in these days.

This was one of the good, old extensions from the good, old days when Chrome used to have trapezoid tabs. Unfortunately, those days are gone and this extension doesn't work well any more. I now use Stylish and some Violentmonkey userscripts instead. Facebook UI is more or less unfixable, though, these days.

I love being able to follow friends while still keeping my sanity. My only complaint is that you don't see the text on why it hid something in dark view. There's no option to change the text color as far as I can tell so you end up with black text on a black background.

Used this with Firefox 10 years ago when it was called Better Facebook. Using it again with Chrome to deal with Facebook switching from Classic to New format. Gives you capabilities Facebook won't to customize your experience.

Logged onto Facebook today and was forced to update to the new and updated version of Facebook and this app no longer worked. I could no longer "close" any of the stories I had already viewed, nor block any of the "stories" that had trigger words in them like "Trump". For me, this app had always worked well and I'm hoping it gets fixed and when it does I'll change my rating, but until then, sorry guys, one star.

It used to work pretty well. I really enjoyed marking posts as read so I can see only the stuff I haven't seen yet when I come back. Sadly with the new Facebook it doesn't work. I gave you guys a few months to fix it because I knew you'd probably need some time, but sadly it's been 4 months and I have no idea if you're even still supporting the extension.

It stopped hiding sponsored ads posts. Now it only hides the first one.

This didn't work for me at all. I was looking to hide certain current events I'm being bombarded with, sponsored posts, etc. Note, it may be because I have some beta version of Facebook currently. I hope this is updated so I may try again in future. I also wish there was a mobile solution.

I have been having issues with Social Fixer not updating to show the actual most recent posts, and just showing the same posts when I refresh. Also it shows an exorbitant amount of posts from groups, instead of showing all the posts in my timeline in order. I do not have the problem on every device I use, so I attempted to contact support and the social fixer support group on facebook is not currently available. I attempted an uninstall and reinstall.

Just perfect. My feed looks clean, no sponsored ads, no clutter. The user interface takes a while to get adjusted to but considering the huge number of features the extension has a small learning curve at the beginning is tolerable.

Works good for me. Easy to install. Lots of options. No conflicts with other extensions.

LOVE this. I don't want to see politics in my social media. Besides keeping in touch with friends and family, social media is pretty much harmful to mental health and the #1 tool for the rampant spread of misinformation. You help make Facebook tolerable -- Thanks!!!

Filtering doesn't seem to work in groups, which was the main reason I installed this. When I open the filter debugger I get the message "Not filtering post because this is a permalink"

Had it years ago and it was great. Removed it when it stopped working. Downloaded it today when I learned it was supposed to hide sponsored ad bs. Not only did it not work, but the number of ads increased throughout the day. Normally I see a few but today I've seen around five times what I normally see.

It works great to block political garbage. BUT.. You need to turn on the filter. It blocks more and more as we approach the election year! THAT alone makes it worth having to me. It saves me lots of time scrolling through posts.

I have been using this extension since it was released. MATT does a Great Job and he needs OUR support to keep it going. Do an automatic payment monthly!!

Total garbage and the developer is rude and there is no support all they do is bash you if you ask any questions on the group support page. does not block sponsored ads anymore blocks normal post as well several coders have gave suggestions on blocking the sponsored ads but they are very rude and won't listen stuck on there own ways guess another extension has come and gone well it was good for like six months not anymore

This worked great for a few weeks. It hasn't alerted me to any friend changes in two months now.

Seems a bit laggy. I just got a new computer this past Sunday (Upgrading from freakin' Windows VISTA!). It does have some great selectable features such as keyword blocking, hiding sponsored posts, etc.

I'm happy with social fixer but unhappy that it seems to disappear when I turn my computer off and I have to reinstall it daily??

Makes FB usable!

This used to work great. Unfortunately, now it has stopped working entirely - no filtering, no Stealth Mode, nothing. I don't know if it's a problem with the extension or with Facebook itself, but it is now utterly useless. And yes, I've tried it on both Chrome and Firefox, with the same results.

Popups. You guys need to learn that popups/modals/toasts should only be used if ABSOLUTELY necessary. Even getting a popup from you guys once a month is utterly unacceptable. I just got one today and it was the last straw. Removing your extension and never going back.

I cuts down on SOME of the problem posts, but a lot of sponsored and suggested posts are slipping through now. Also, don't bother joining the FB "support group". They get really angry if you post any questions at all, so I don't really know what the point of the group even is.

was looking for option to expand all (or filtered selection) of posts but couldnt find anything like that. A shame with all those post filtering options

"So far no good"! There's something so wrong with the Filters.

Not a "one click solution" But after fully read the option and try it, it manage to help me reduce the "hate speech" post in my newsfeed and some customizable feature also great. You can keep add "filtered words" and make your facebook more clean. This one is great, hope the best for the dev.

May have been great once upon a time, but it doesn't work anymore. Ads in the form of"sponsored posts" still appear in the feed, and it's impossible to see your feed both in chronological (newest first) order, without seeing posts in all the hundreds of groups you are subscribed to (even if you aren't following them). The support is terrible and rude. I would totally give them money if it worked. Life got so much better once I disabled and then removed it.

So far, so good. Facebook should take heed of this extension and give users the choices that this extension offers. I'm particularly fond of the level of customisation it enables, but one I thing I would be ask for a 'Block Marketplace notifications' ability. These pesky things are tiresome, if I browse, I don't want to be bombarded with similar items or random posts from the groups I'm in.

Love It

It is relatively easy to use Social Fixer for Facebook, especially considering that Facebook is an always-changing platform. It will take some time for new users to get the hang of it - the menu choices are fairly extensive - but anything worth its salt is worth working with. Do not give up on it just because it is not "easy" and most likely whatever you find disagreeable is a Facebook thing, not Social Fixer.

Just used this for 10 mins, and it's awesome so far. Big difference already, and I like to customize everything. I was suddenly getting a ton of these fb friend suggestions... all girls on a desperate crusade to get them some... (I mean, gtfo! I don't need to look at younger prettier girls who have actual lives... Know what I mean? Grrrr... XD) Regardless, I was about to delete my account. So, thank you for this.

Makes Farceberk so much more bearable to use! Allows you to customise it in so many ways and hide all those bits you don't want!

I think I've used this for about 3 years now, maybe more. I even stuck with them when their app listing was hijacked by some idiot. The dev does this as a hobby, but he's been awesome and dedicated to this app. FB makes changes so often that I'm sure it's hard for him to keep up. The updates are rolled out regularly and timed well with changes, given this is a side project and not his day job. The only problem I ever had was with the unfriend tracker, but I never needed it to begin with. I don't recall ever having a serious problem with this addon. The feature to back up your settings is probably the best one, since I've changed computers a few times, and keep a laptop on the side. Being able to import my settings easily is great.

Finally got around to getting this, would love if the short date indicator had an option for UK date format (dd/mm/yyyy)

I want to give it 5 stars but I have repeatedly had issues where the Submit Comment button wouldn't work and this extension was the cause of the problem. I hope this can be fixed soon as it is very annoying to have to remove it then reinstall later.

commenting quit working. i disable Social fixer and then commenting works again...But otherwise i love it...

still have no friends and i am hated more now

I've been using this for a while on other computers and it's brilliant. Facebook is always doing annoying stuff in an effort to make their site more "engaging" or profitable. Are there any plans to put something in to get rid of the posts with adverts that start up half way through a video? It's quite a recent addition of theirs and ridiculously annoying for me :)

I truly love that I can hide the majority of topics I want to see less of. I have more control over how Facebook works. I haven't delved into the self tweaking because I'm not good at that, but the fact that you can if you know how is a huge plus in my book.

Nicely designed and developed. With many options, and in the same time user friendly. I hope this extension outlives me.

Absolute must-have. Whenever I use a new web browser this is the first thing I have to install on it! Facebook should just hire these guys - because this is the way fb should have been all along. Oh and don't forget to drop the developer a few coins every month or so. He well deserves our full support.
