Is not working on most recent version of chromium. Extension does nothing

Great extension! However, it seems to break the layout of the tabs for me and also triggers some anti-bot checks from Google. It's understandable, Google changes the content of the page and it's hard for an extension to follow and adapt to every change. If someone wants the same feature without the extension to avoid breaking the layout, you can create a bookmark in your browser and paste this as the URL: javascript:sp = new URLSearchParams(location.search); sp.set('q', sp.get('q') + ' inurl:forum|viewthread|showthread|viewtopic|showtopic|"index.php?topic" | intext:"reading this topic"|"next thread"|"next topic"|"send private message"'); location.search = sp; Then, everytime you need to filter the search results, simply click the bookmark. Hope it helps.

I added this extension but I do not have a "more" button in order to select it, therefore it's completely useless to me. Very disappointing.

For some reason it also shows any page with "forum" in it's name and also pages in other languages like german or french and even though I am a polyglot I speak netheir of those! Extension safes a lot of time when you want to look for forums and such but honestly it could have been much better. I understand Google is an evil corp yare yare but there must be a better way, there is always one.

Very useful extension when your looking for an answer to a question, and that answer happens to be in a forum somewhere. This extension has helped me find many answers to questions.

One of the best extensions. Google used to have this feature built into their Google search engine and it was great but one day they decided to start wiping out popular features and Discussion searching got the boot.. way to go google

Was an awesome extension, but needs to be updated since it doesn't work with Googles newest update.

This used to be an amazing extension - but since google took steps to kill this as well - there is no point in using google to search for meaning ful threads on forums -they only want to generate money and useful information doesn't do that - only online shops and paid for service - the original Google prerogative of providing the best search engine algorithms for ALL data searching is now gone forever - they are ONLY interested in generating money :-( But that leaves a hole in the market - c'mon you crazy coders - provide a mass exodus from Google by alolowing searching for meaningful content rather than just what google spoon-feeds us :-)

It's an ongoing battle against the great evil that is google, this extension was hugely useful but unfortunately needs updating as google have bricked it again with their last update

I added the discussion button but now it has disappeared - it is no longer under the "more" tab - where the heck is it???

Please fix when you can chaps, I love this plugin but google keep breaking it.

Last google update broke the extension.

This was great until the latest update, cannot see the Discussion option anymore when clicking more.

Would appreciate if it included specific discussion sites that may not be picked up by the standard keywords, like reddit, stack exchange, quora, etc. Also it would be really nice if it would put the discussion keyword search bit in the url but not in the search query itself, to make the query cleaner like before Google disabled it. Of course I have no idea how much work that could be.

I'm one of the many that was upset upon finding out about google removing their discussion feature. I've looked for alternatives and came across this chrome extension, been using it for few months now and it has helped IMMENSELY with my research in regards to whatever topic I'd like to read about. The amount of information you can gather by reading discussion boards is many folds more useful than simply coming across websites that offer a one-sided view on the subject you're looking into. If you are a researcher or plain info-hoarder then this extension is for you.

No longer works. Google is hell bent on not letting people see discussions. Was good while it lasted.

I loved this for the past several months but it seemed to stop working a few weeks ago. I deleted it and re-installed it on all my computers with chrome and it fixed it. So if you find it stops working try that!

This is a great tool + automatically applies common forum footprints to search discussions. Anybody who ever follows Amy Hoy's 30x500 understands the concept of a sales safari - observing your customer's in their native habitat. How they talk, what their pain is etc. Google were foolish to abandon this function.

I like this. It's the best replacement for Google Discussions search currently available, since they've effectively removed all discussion search capability from their search engine. Not as good as Google did it, but the best we have as of now!

Google is somehow now blocking via the TOS. I think this is absolutely bullshit. Censoring the internet.

I used discussion search ALL THE TIME and was pretty mad when they removed that option. My previous two work-arounds died out so I'm turning to this now which seems to be working exactly as I want so far (at least until the rats at Google find out about it and nuke it's functionality)

I can't understand why discussions were removed in the first place. This extension returned that much needed functionality. Unfortunately, it no longer seems to work.

Google seems to block this now as well... what the hell is going on over there Google? I have always been an avid Google user, but this will be the first time I start to look for other search engines. What a shame.

A very welcome extension. Works as described. Provides options for adding Discussions, Blogs, Recipes, and Patents to the More area of Google searches.

I'm not sure what Google's motive for removing their discussions filter was. Perhaps it will come back in the future, bigger and better. In the meantime, we have workarounds such as this useful extension.

Excellent workaround. For anyone who doubts Google's motives for removing the discussion search filter, it's time to wake up. We are not Google's customer. We are the PRODUCT. Google's customers are the advertisers who pay for our data, and for getting their ads in our faces. Removing the discussion filter makes sure that searching for relevant content is replaced with advertiser content. Google seems to have forgotten the "don't do evil" motto. We are sheep.
