I started trialling the paid plan for Mate Translate. The extension's settings page is broken on the latest versions of Chrome/Brave. I wrote an email to support a week ago and haven't received a response. A week isn't a ludicrous amount of time, but still. If/when they respond and fix this issue, I'll gladly update this review!

I refuse your product because when I came to russia I saw that you blocked access for people based on geography - this is racist. you cannot discriminate against people based on geography. I found good alternatives and now all our computers are switched to them. you cannot be trusted anymore! your reputation is already ruined.

I like this extension but I must disable it. This extension is conflict with agoda.com, the payment screen will be blocked from input by this extension, please fix

best translator extension ever. i have mate pro so i have dark mode.

Doesn't work at all for me. Clicking the button to translate the whole page doesn't do anything and when highlighting words, once I click the green box nothing happens.

Very slow translation. Sometime translation doesn't work. Also automatic translation feature is paid version.

If someone asks me for a single extension then I would recommend this. ^_^

It is easy to use, has a good number of languages, and it is quick. Sometimes it just stops working and wont ever load so that kinda sucks

I went for free but the translations for asian parts came out weird when it was translating childhood friend in title I got cow friend? Seriously they need to work on translating these kind of things

The translation from English to Chinese is working fine. And, I'm willing to subscribe if the price is reasonable. However, the monthly membership is 49.99 dollars, and there are no cents in my country. It makes me doubt that it's USD. If so, it would be way too expensive. Another problem is that they have no payment other than credit cards.

Money fraud! I bought a one-month subscription to premium, but the premium was never activated. Wrote to tech support, and they could not help. Redirected to write there, then here. Do not advise to buy a subscription

Basically malware. All the reviews are fake/paid. Does literally NOTHING until you supply your FULL complete personal information including CREDIT CARD. You can't even test for a minute. They just want ot farm your credit card info to illegally charge you a year later when you aren't likely to notice. Criminals. Delete this extension google. Especially since it likely offers zero functionality that isn't already free. (Google translate extension is free and does likely all the exact same things this seems to offer, I was just trying it as google extension works on 95% of sites but a few don't work)

Mostly good... haven't figured out yet why there's the word DICTIONARY in this extension's name yet though. Appears to be nothing related to definitions or anything... UNLESS that's only in the PRO version, yet not specified...

Just started using it but it cannot seem to translate Sundanese into English. Just shows Sundanese as the translation. Trying to use it on Youtube comments if that's helpful.

Translates pages when it wants... and incredibly slow at translating full pages compared to the Google Translate plugin!

Works good for EN-BG, but if it could have pop up that comes immediately after selecting text it will be great

it is the best page translator. google does not translate few pages due to privacy policy of website to interfere with data on webpage in which i had lots of problems but this extension helped me.

Excels on asking for $$. Is fine for very occasional use. Seems most options are not free in this version.

Doesn't Fit Microsoft Edge Browser

Extremely useful!. The easiest and quickest way to translate.

No Edge compatibility, and in Chrome it doesn´t show all the features.. I bought it cuz of amazing features and now can´t use it on edge nor working well on chrome.

USED TO BE the best extension for translating but now developers are pushing you to upgrade to the pro version therefore almost all the extra feature that made this a unique extension are PRO ONLY. Time to look for another extension

Couldn't understand why UI started breaking left and write for out Customers' websites. Eventually realised that this plug-in injected hidden HTML code via the CMS in multiple database fields when the extension user was editing customer entries. Okay, so what do I have to click on to get me an English translation? Cause the few times I've used it, it never translates anything for me. No one else seems to have a problem, so maybe I'm missing something.....

I loved this app. BUT, one day I realize that curiositystream.com is not showing bottons in the navigation menu. After a gruesome search enabling/disabling all my extensions, this was the responsible one :( What other pages did mate translate mess up that I didn't notice? Had to uninstal.

I dont like new features.The new icon show up really annoying . Addition, need more action to do translate. it's really a step backward of this extension .

I really love the extension, have loved it for a long time, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Recently, however, I started noticing some worrying, irregular behaviour.  Most importantly, it seems that it's impossible to open the settings page any more - it keeps loading indefinitely. Tried on Edge, Vivaldi and vanilla installation of Chrome - to no avail. A second, minor but infuriating, problem concerns the dark theme. I became a paying subscriber in part to support the developer and in part to be able to use the dark theme. The problem is that when you open the pop-up, with dark theme enabled, it still initially shows the default white one. After a second or so it automatically switches to the dark mode, but it really ruins the experience :(  Please, consider changing this behaviour. Thanks in advance!

This is not good anymore! They have lost their mind and it stays at the top right over all the website.

This is repeated every time you open a website. It's very annoying, distracting and frustrating. I wanted to uninstall it all at once. Please stop showing the pop-up and icon in the upper right corner. Just have a right-click menu!

Could you please elaborate of the usage of this option? Prefs > Shortcuts in the pop-up Translate text in the input field with a shortcut.

A pop-up dialog in the upper right corner appears non-stop. I extinguish it, but as soon as I open a new page, it reappears. That was not the case until now. He is very jading and aggressive. I have noticed that many functions are enabled for premium members. Such as window size. I have to subscribe to choose a large window, so I can read the text more easily. Its features are not special to make me use this extension. Google Translate does the job better, faster, and easier. I uninstall it because it's jading to use it.

Put synonyms into paid version was a bad idea

It does not translate Netflix. You have to click each individual word and it brings up a massive popup with the word. It's terrible! Do not buy!

PERFECT! I'm using it on the Vivaldi Browser and on my iPhone. The best purchase i've done!

Why do you describe it as dictionary if you don't provide one???

REVIEW EDIT: Sorry, no to money extortion. It's a great app, but the notion of limiting its existing functionality to force people to pay for a "Pro" version is extremely aggravating to me. If you wanted people to pay for it, probably the better idea would have been to actually add new functionality to the pro version, instead of stealing it from the free version. @Team Gikken: "We're sorry that you decided to move away to something less cool than Mate." I'm also sorry that you decided to move away to something less cool, mate. Well, I also understand that people need to eat, so I won't be blaming you too much for looking for means to profit off of your work. OLD REVIEW: Used it for many years. Great extension. This is the best trasnlator plugin!

Was very happy with this extansion. It saved a lot of time. But now they started demanding you upgrade to Pro in order to get synonyms. If you try to translate a word, you only get one translation, which renders this extension mostly useless. There are those things called homonyms. Some words can have different meanings. Arm, nail, bark, current.

It was a great app until they started extorting money.

At first I was in love with this app, until you guys decided to add some random stuff at the end of my papers that shows that I used your translator. I used this translator for my Spanish class that I sometimes have trouble with and my teacher found out what i was doing because you all decided to add (whatever ever it is....I don't even know) to the end of a document that made it known that i was using this extension. I GOT CALLED OUT ON A PUBLIC DISCUSSION BOARD AND TO BE HONEST I DIDNT EVEN USE THE TRANSLATOR FOR IT, IT JUST SIMPLY ADDED THEIR BRAND NAME ITSELF!!!! Was it my fault, to some extent, yes. But I blame this company 100%. Never again will i use this and i urge anyone else that's considering using this extension for school to choose wisely, and consider using another app/extension!!!!

I was searching a translator extension like this. I know google is good and powerful but I was looking for the features in this extension. Thanks to the developer for making such extension for helping people.

It's so easy to use this. You just need to select the text ! No any other tabs, just a select and a click. Loved it

I'd love to purchase this as I've found it useful and it would be even more useful with the paid version. Sadly pressing the "upgrade for us$9.99" button in the settings page seems to do nothing. A google search for the company also fails to bring up any direct links so it seems impossible to actually buy the product. I'm sure I must be missing something but I can't see what it is. Oh well I guess I'll use the limited functionality on the free version as it is better than nothing.

Great App

I just installed it a few minutes ago, but so far I'm on the fence. For my chosen language (Esperanto) it's mixed. It translates some words/phrases right, but not others. 'jaraĝaj' gives me 'years old' (correct) but going the other way 'years old' gives me 'maljunaj' which is 'old' not 'years old'. I could give other examples but the point is it seems to be less accurate than google translate. On top of that you have to pay for things like a dark theme. I have never (nor will I ever) pay for a theme, but that's just me. I don't know about the limit of 500 words as someone else said but if that turns out to be true, I'll just go back to google translate since it's more accurate anyway. I would never pay for something that isn't even accurate. Besides google translate will translate any language instead only 1 at a time. GT also allows you to star words/phrases too so this really offers nothing of value that GT doesn't.

it's help me whenever i want to find out meaning of a word.it has a good feature that help me a lot, when i select a word it show a popup icon and after clicking the icon it's show the translation.lastly i can say it is the best extension to get translation any word or any sentence.

I don't usually post reviews, but this extension made my life easier when I was looking for an extension that replaces the Google translate feature in Chrome when I switched to Vivaldi! I like how it works and I believe I will keep it as long as I am either using Vivaldi or Opera!
