The extension has some limitation of hours that I can record? All features are free and without limitations? Thanks in advance.

Great extension! Works well for capturing HLS streams and distributed videos (a lot of things are going this way). I have only used the 'Normal' mode for downloading fixed length videos. I have not yet used the 'Capture' mode to capture live streams. I am finding success with this plugin in downloading videos from various courses I have purchased.

previously works fine but NOW the video that I recorded always broken lol.. missing a critical component which affecting video playback.. frames have missing audio/video component..

there is still a problem when i tried to save the stream, when saving the video, the video is frozen but the minutes continue

its work fine previously.. now lot of missing parts in recording. I record 0:05second but 0:02 & 0:04 part missing

It is not working for me with Chrome so far. I have tried several times, deleted and updated the extension but still didn't work anymore. I tried to contact the developer but no email window will pop-up when clicking the link to it. Please help, it was working great two weeks ago, it is really helpful.

As much as I love this extension, the browser tab title annoys me the most because it shows a useless loading progress instead of showing something helpful like how many streams were completed out of how many streams were captured (e.g. showing "1/5" for 1 finished stream out of 5 is MORE HELPFUL than showing frame counts for all streams, which has no utility) - the current title forces me to switch back and forth to see if a stream was captured or not.

where do you store the .ts files. since theres network errors, i need to find the .ts files to parse them manually myself

It won't even start when I press the extension icon.

I used it with medium files, It had some trouble interacting with Download Helper but after disabling this one it worked better

Latest chrome update broke it.

Able to detect the video, but when I click on Save button, nothing happened. Can anyone tell me where the video saved to? or how to make it save to my local machine?

Upon downloading it, i managed to download 10+ videos from streaming sites that no other downloader could. There were a few crashes but the download speed was decent enough that i could just initiate the download again without feeling too bummed. However, upon trying to download a vid the next day (full shutdown and restart of PC), the Stream Recorder button no longer does anything. No new windows or tab, no downloads initiated, zilch.Much as I liked it and would have recommended it, i'm at a loss of what to do now but to remove it

Good extension, but occasionally has errors. Like a "Network error" which not only stops the recording, but also renders recordings undownloadable which sucks after an hour or two. Would def add another star to fix these errors and perhaps allow the extension to resume after network blips a bit better. Will donate and write a message

Using 1.3.9. Ever since I can remember I haven't downloaded files larger than 600 or 700MB with this extension. Worked very well until I decided to d/l a 1.5GB and a 2.3GB file. This time it crashed both Chrome and Opera (which I have the Install Chrome Extensions plugin installed so I can use it) some way through the download (not sure exactly when cos my connection is slow and I'm never able to see exactly how much the way through it is when they crash if I happen to be at the PC when they do). Tried 3 times with each browser. Exactly the same result. Using latest version of Chrome (106.0.5249.119, Official Build, 32-bit) and 91.0.4516.16, Stable, 32-bit of Opera (only 1 version behind the latest I think). Looking at Stream Recorder's latest version's notes I thought it might've been low memory causing the crash but I have more than 5GB free of RAM (and looking at the browser usage it appears it's not a RAM issue) and at least 3x the size of the downloading file size in free space on C drive. Using these on a HP Probook 470, 12GB RAM, Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Funny thing is I tried it on my old 32-bit Dell Dimension 5100 desktop with Opera (same version) and far less RAM (only 1-1.5GB free with 3GB max), again plenty of free disk space and the 1.5GB file downloaded successfully first time round and have just finished the 2.3GB file now. Both OK without a hitch. Will try on Chrome soon. I have successfully downloaded these 2 files with the 'Video DownloadHelper' extension but the audio is out of sync in parts (viewing the file online there are no issues) so it's not a server issue so that's why I tried Stream Recorder. The only thing I can think of is the 64, 32-bit architecture and HW differences. Since there is no way to contact you through hlsloader.com I have to post the video address here: https://therealanthonyfaucimovie.com/viewing/ Enter any email to sign up to watch it (1d 7h left to watch it) and they won't spam you, just unsubscribe and you won't receive any more mails from them or just use a disposable email addy if you like. Or maybe try another similarly large file elsewhere. Is there somewhere I can get 1.3.8 to see if it's a bug with this latest version?

Reliable when recording in a quality below 720p. It seems like whenever I record anything in capture mode at 720p or higher, a few minutes in to the recording, I consistently receive the error message "The number of fragments in the stream is over 5000. Please immediately save this video and try recording again, as it may not be able to be processed any further." Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe this has been addressed. Either way, this is still a useful extension.

it was working perfectly. But what is happening now is when i select capture option. it reloads the webpage but the video doesnt run. It keeps on buffering. I am assuming that some level of check is being currently applied from the website end. is there any way out of this

Used to work perfect but not any longer. Now it just sits there and does nothing no matter what mode I attempt to use it in. Tried re-installing chrome and the extension, restarting computer, deleting cache and everything else. Nothing is getting it to work again.

unfortunately videos can't download videos that exceed 2gb :(

Doesn't seem to work with the Macbook M1 version

It's decent. I'd be able to rate it higher if it didn't randomly stop recordings without notification and without starting another one where it left off.

why it just download 18min video, the video is about 43min

worked great for about 4 days. now does not do anything. click button and it just sits there never finding the streams

Tried many extensions, but this is the one worked best for streaming videos. It can even save half downloaded parts instead of full video. Has an option to boost download speed. Awesome.

Use this extension because other extensions like cococut is taking money to download speed and few other have issues like seperate video and audio files (ts) downloaded

It doesn't work for me. When I click the record button all I get is a window asking me to reload the page, do that, watch all the commercials again, and click record and... so it goes on and on, Clearly not made for all streaming all video

Usually works well, but throws "failed to fetch TS" when the actual problem is that you don't have enough space left on C: (you need twice the stream size). Allowing manually setting a cache location on a different partition would help. Also hope we can get some new info on AES-128 stream support.

Been using it for years, has been great, but recently there has been a more frequent error of "Failed to fetch TS, abort, status : -1" which makes the recorded video unable to download. Edit: No longer having the above issue, but I just experienced a completed download being unable to download, it would say unable to download - network issue

Used to work great but now it usually stops recording after a couple minutes. Unreliable and useless.

extension comes with a blacksearch google hijack extension attached. AVOID.

Only worked for 2 days. Now it is totally useless.

I am using Windows 10 and wanted to record live streams. The button to capture doesn't show up. I can only start and pause the stream using the extension. Clearly it has access to the stream itself but no capture button comes up and where is support?

It used to work. Now it rarely registers that there is a video on the page. The 'Stream Recorder' button just stays flat and will not activate on pages where it used to work in the past.

i use it for more 12 hours to download hundreds of videos and when used for that long it causes chrome to become a bit heavy then crash, the only work around is to clear browser data every 10 hours or so to avoid a chrome crash when it's downloading also please add an option where you put url to auto capture and save stream when it starts.. it would be the perfect app if you add this.

I really love this extension. Would give it a 4.5/5. Two requests, the extension continually adds the same stream over and over on the capture/download page, especially on Twitch, until the source stream stops. Would be nice to limit that to just a few from what appears to be at least 30+ ongoing stream recording/captures. Also, adding a calendar/timer tool would be really awesome. Perhaps just having a timer to have it stop on continuous network streams when we choose to record a portion of that stream at a particular time and then have it stop recording after a specific amount of time, so that the impending downloads don't get rather large in size. Thank you.

Tried to recorder one video of 1hour long, and it stopped without any notification or saving at least what it had. 2 stars are too much. It will become 1 star, if I find another app.

Very well written piece of code, very useful for all sorts of sites which use streaming rather than a mp4 player.

Hello How do I fix the "Faild to fetch TS, -1" issue ?

Is there a way to make it compatible with subtitles? When downloading from ARTE Mediathek, for example, the video is downloaded, but without subtitles. Else, great little tool!

I love this extension, neat and user friendly until a chrome update around a year or longer ago. This extension no longer work on most sites. I keep it and hope that it work again within a few updates. ... But I did not see it. After almost a year, I think I should give up.

I'm going to be very honest, i've been through so many extensions, that adapt to downloading any file with the "HLS / HTTP Live Streaming" component , THIS ONE. IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKS, with the audio attached to it. Not like the rest of them, but if i could just find one for DRM, i'll be happy, thank you so very much for the app / extension.

This is a chrome extension and it does not work in Chrome. The review that mentions it works in Edge does not make sense. It is a CHROME extension. It does NOT work. Period.

I love it, the way this extension is designed is astonishingly brilliant. on certain sites it works pretty well because it can automatically download even when I leave it , and that's the greatest up side for this extension (instead of the generic click and show style, I hated that) but when sometimes the download size gets to a certain size the browser would crash, but its sometimes its inconsistent. Sometimes I can have 10+gigs of downloaded content (VODs) and it wont crash. Other times when it get around a total of 7+gigs (This is when I use for the live stream, like actual live recording). It just sometimes crashes the browser At the same time I wonder if it matters on how much RAM the system have, I assume it doesn't because the cache are store in the drive and not the RAM (I could be wrong) Anything to fix this on my end?

Finally something that works with the annoying JW Player 8.8.2 hls streaming videos. Works perfectly where nothing else could. Thanks.

Works great on my older Macbook Pro. Got a new Macbook Air M1, installed latest Chrome and extension. Doesn't work. Will not record the stream in either normal or capture mode. Nothing happens. Same site, other Macbook, works. Same version of this extension on both: 1.3.5 and still nothing. Would love to have it working as I love this extension but disappointed it's not working on the M1 Macbook

Works really well, even from websites that have a lot of protection if you use the capture button. Great job!

Works great, my only problem is that for the screen capture mode, if the video automatically tries to play on a lower quality, and then you change to the higher quality, I can't get it to stop cutting off the first 12 seconds.

Works reliably, but in my experience loses audio after recording for over a minute or so.

I never wrote reviews before. This is fabulous. Anything that cannot be captured can be recorded (directly from stream) and automatically combined. This is THE ONLY IDEA THAT WORKS UNIVERSALLY! You should charge this extension and I'll happy to pay for it. So fxxking awesome!

Didn't work. Opened instructions in a new tab but they are unclear. It says when the Download button is disabled: "In such cases, you can still download the video with the capture mode by clicking the action button." I have no clue what they are even talking about.. what action button?? On top of that, it crashed my browser. Had to remove the extension completely to make my browser functional again.

Videos where even developer tools failed, this extension came to rescue. Deserves more than 5 stars tbh.

Great, but It desperately needs a "Close tab?" leave prompt to avoid accidental data loss...

I use Video DownloadHelper and Ant Downloader (in Firefox) and while they get 95% of videos I come across, sometimes videos are super broken up and hard to download. I ran into such video site and this was the only extension that was able to capture and allow me to download the video. By far one of the most impressive video downloader. I use Brave and Firefox interchangeably, so I hope this extension comes to Firefox one day. Nice work. ??
