Very useful, would be cool to have the option to remove context menu button though
I've used this extension for a while after seeing it on bulbapedia and it's suuuuuper useful. being able to really quickly see the definitions of words or preview links in the same tab without having to constantly switch to new tabs or windows is amazing. i'm kinda shocked that this isn't more popular. my only criticism is that for now it's not really good at identifying phrases and it instead searches individual words. that can be avoided by highlighting the phrase you want to search and then long clicking, so this is mostly just a minor nitpick. love it!
Hello, Thank you for such helpful extenstion but ı have a little request. Can you add feature of "use in file URLs"?
This is an amazing chrome extension, its very innovative and has a nice interface on it. Glad I found myself on reddit today to see the ad. I couldn't get it to work on some of my tabs at first, but I just refreshed my tabs and never had the problem on my device again. Thanks to the devs for creating this, this is gonna save a lot of time for my online classes.
found this while trying to find a feature like the good ol' kindle keyboard 3 has when you hover(get close to a word) it will pull up the definition of that word for you. Nice! But if some one know a software or addon like kindle has please tell me.
Quite useful, but doesn't work in Google Docs :(
wow so genius
fantastic add-in, love the floating magic. This is not easy to do.
Works well although it doesn't work on some sites.(such as w3schools.com)
Very useful extension. The transitions are also very fluid.
Never thought I absolutely needed this until I had it.
came here on reddit
Pretty useful. Saw the ad on Bulbapedia and tried it. And it was (& is) a big help for well, Bulbapedia!!
Its like a better cmd+click (or if you're on windows, ctrl+click)
Essentially this is a more useable and condensed method of quickly pulling out sub-topics for reference than setting up "search google for this phrase" and wiki new-tabbing to pop into a second window/monitor. I've already got that going on my computers but man, this is just really smooth, additionally, it gives a shortlist of reddit and twitter posts. You can long-click any word and it will either search that word or, if it identifies one, the collective phrase. This will likely work better over time as algos learn, but currently you can just click and drag (highlight) a text and then long-click, it will use what you select. Tried it out extensively on the minecraft webpage and I don't think it uses the obvious classification flags - what does work every time is selecting compatible hyperlinks (things that point to wiki pages of various domains) by long pressing any part of the hypertext, and you can still do a general search by highlighting the text itself if you, say, want to see the reddit mentions. Very, very cool extension, especially useful if I want to use the monitor I have in portrait for wikis while gaming. Less necessary in my use case for research/writing and whatnot, but honestly this could drastically cut down the amount of windows, tabs, and monitors in use in that case.
I could see this being quite useful! So any highlighted text I long-click will be searched, and any link i long-click will open a preview window. Nifty! Edit: Even cooler that the preview window is only visible on the tab I opened it in. Ooh, and a little search tab!
Even though I didn't understanded it at first, it really helped my life. It helped me do everything. This extension is like a detour for tabs. WooHoo! If there were 10 stars, I would rate it as 10. Thanks, Phlinx!
Very innovative and helpful idea! As a student it is incredibly useful when reading long scholarly articles and it's intuitive and easy to use. Being able to see my phlinx history sure is interesting, having apparently looked up "Shrek (2001) Reviews and Commentary" and "ply verb definition" within the same day. Great extension overall :D
It works reasonably well, but it seems to break Google Calendar: I am unable to add events while it is active, but the problem is fixed when I disable the extension.
A very interesting and helpful idea, and one that should prove to get even better in execution with time. I love it!
Ok, this is the most useful extension. I highly recommend it to use it because it is cool and fast.
Really great for navigating through different articles and making minor detours without having to open a new tab
saw on reddit
dont have many uses for it however whn i do it is great
Found this through a Reddit sponsored post. Looks and works great!
