This extension is delightful!
This one made me laugh! You should change the words "Gen Z" and "zoomer" too
This is without a doubt the best extension to forget about. Once you install it, forget that you have it, and be amazed every time you stumble upon a new term like "Children of Zolomon", or "Great Ape-Snake War. I've had this extension for years now, and absolutely love it each time I re-discover it.
very fun but I forgot that I had this extension and was very confused writing my essay about generational differences. I have to remove it for now but I will return.....
Same as everyone else, my favorite thing about this extension is forgetting I have it installed and then being bewildered by a substitution. I looked up the Great Recession and was so confused when "shedding in the time of cold rocks" came up in my Google results, and it took me a few hot minutes to figure out that is not actually slang for the era.
Have used the extension for years. Still continues to catch me off-guard. Highly recommended.
Consistently the best extension I have in terms of the joy it brings.
Kind of disappointed that it didn't change the name of the extension on the google play store :D. Nice extension, fully expect to forget I have it :)
came here after getting a sentence about it during sat practice on khan academy
To this day it still catches me off guard lol
I really love this extension, it's a fun surprise every single time and highlights the ridiculousness of characterizing a whole generation.
As a snake person, I found this to be incredibly entertaining. Now we need one for Boomers.
Somehow, "The Great Depression" ended up as "The Clutch Plague", leading my history teacher to ask to see me after class, when I wrote about how the Crash of '29 caused the clutch plague! Basically, I love this extension, and totally recommend it!! Also, reading the wikipedia page for Millennials is the best use of your time ever. But read it in a month, when you forget about this god-send.
Also changes instances of 'great depression' to 'clutch plague' ???
I went insane for about 15 minutes during class because I was trying to type "tween" and it kept showing up as neonate. This would usually be hilarious, except I was writing work emails (we have a type of lab media that is called Tween). I was losing my mind until I remembered this extension was still on my browser.
I love this. I've had it installed for over a year now. Even changes my Netflix subtitles. Has never interfered with other content on websites as far as I'm aware. Happy browsing, fellow snake people.
I love this extension. To test it after installation, read the currently top-ranked answer from Karen Marie Shelton here: https://www.quora.com/Why-are-so-many-people-avoiding-casual-chains-like-Applebee-s-now
Works great! Just recently discovered that it also changes "helicopter parents" to "Thoth-Amon"...that really threw me off.
Love it. It will change netflix subtitles and stuff too. One thing I noticed recently is that it will also turn the phrase "helicopter parents" into "Thoth-Anon" which I had to look up. I would like this extension to have a public list of all relevant replacements.
It changed the term "great depression" to "clutch plague".
rise up against the snake people, they're killing so many industries
it injected "Snake Person" into my netflix subtitles, I love this.
1. Install this extension 2. Completely forget about it 3. End up confused by the seriousness of the Wikipedia Snake People page 4. ??? 5. Profit
Beautiful
The best part about this extension is that I will forget I have it installed for months and then come across an article titled "Why are there so many snake people?" and completely bewilder myself. It's great.
10/10 changes Occupy Movement to Great Ape-Snake War
Love how it's able to crack me up while reading a depressing article about millenials.
Excellent and objective change to identify Millennials for who they really are. I'm glad their hideous thoughts and habits are finally being brought to light.
dank af
THIS IS AWESOME
"Snake people love avocado toast" - Michael Knowles
Can you add the option to turn "Avocado Toast" into "Frozen Mice"? Otherwise this is perfect!
must have
It's best when you forget you installed this extension, and you see snake people in news articles.
It does nothing. Snake People and Millennials mean the same thing. Total rip-off.
Just noticed it changes the subtitles on Netflix. Most excellent!
Sometimes I don't know if my friends say 'Millennial' or 'Snake People' because I've been using this extension for so long.
Awesome extension. however.. Please change "Millennial" to "Snake Person"
Sir Eric, thank you for fixing the internet! It is once again exciting to go out and explore new pages and learn about snake people. I am a proud snake person!
Absolutely love this one. Really highlights the goofiness of most news articles about my generation.
All I need is for The Zolom's Children to replace Gen Z as well as Generation Z. It's so beautiful, and I want to see it more.
I love being snake person. This is hilarious!
Instantly makes light of the most cringy generational articles. Six stars.
I've been using it for a long time and now it helped me to change my vocabulary. Thank you, a snake person.
Perfection in an app
It never fails to crack me up.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, and includes all sorts of synonyms. Editing this with a complaint, which is that there's no list of the terms that this extension changes, and it's much more wide-ranging than I expected.
i genuinely thought there was an event in history that I didn't know about called the Clutch Plague. job well done.
This, and Cloud to Butt Plus, might be the greatest thing a computer was ever used for
Turns news articles I'd normally find preachy into enjoyable nuggets of comedy, especially when I forget that I have it installed.
love it
lol. best extension I have downloaded so far
Amazing amount of effort put in here. It also replaces things like "Tweens", "Helicopter Parents", "Generation We", "Great Recession", "Great Depression", and even "miˈlenēəl". I am VERY impressed. However, I wish the developer would precompile regex patterns to vastly improve the performance of this extension.
Hey just so everybody is aware, the glitch was fixed, so disregard the other reviews. This extension is back to being my favorite.
Same as other reviewers - was my favourite Chrome Extension until it changed all the text input to facebook to being right to left. The ones you love the most hurt you the deepest :'( If this gets fixed, let me know and I'll happily give up reading about how much everyone hates young people and read about how much they hate the underground lizard humanoids instead. Always a pleasure :)
Used to love this. Then, as others have mentioned, this extension started breaking text input fields on various websites, most notably Facebook where all text inputs backwards, and the "backspace" key doesn't work. Broken and dangerous. Fix it or take it down.
Used to enjoy this extension until it started making all text typed into Facebook backwards. Reported as Malware
I used to love the extension, but it started making everything I type backwards on some sites. I first noticed in on Facebook, then Outlook, then Twitter, then Gmail.
It was great until it started to make my facebook chat type backwards. Fix your stuff yo
A cool, fun thing that the current version of the extension does is switch your text input direction to right-to-left.
Frankly hilarious, but messes with text input on a number of sites (most notably/annoyingly, Gmail).
I liked this extension a ton. Then, just yesterday, my Facebook Messenger started acting up. Everything I messaged went through backwards, so that it dekool ekil siht. And that's when I did a chrome reset and found out it was this bloody extension. Never again.
It was fine for a while, I liked that it had a relatively low profile compared to all my other extensions while I randomly read "snake people" in unexpected places. Then 2 days ago (April 23), on certain computers, it started messing with the text input boxes. Had to remove it, unfortunately.
This was my favorite extension ever, until it randomly started inputting all of my text backwards.
Great extension but recently it seems to be causing me to type backward on facebook.
Sometimes you forget this extension is installed. And then it replaces the BBC iPlayer subtitles and you spend the next 30 seconds cackling to yourself.
Secret substitutions are unhelpful.
Love it, though I wish it had a disable feature on the hotbar menu so i didn't have to do it through the extensions page.
I think there should be a disable option for when I need to actually read something. Otherwise, it's a fun extension.
I really enjoyed it for a year or so until it started replacing other words... Great Depression to Clutch Plague? Go away. Disabling.
Millennials to snake people is hilarious. The only thing that I find slightly annoying is it doesnt seem to work it Millennials is all in caps haha! Besides that it makes reading articles absolutely HILARIOUS.
Makes me chuckle every time.
Works great, love the other little conversions (Serpent Society, etc). Can you make one (or add to this one) an option to swap Donald J. Trump with Dumpster J. Fire ?
Still amazing after all these years
I like to read about how "How Snake People Are Ruining the Workforce" and "I’m a snake person and my generation sucks...I fight back every day against the traits that have come to define Society of the Serpent..."
Deleted it because of false advertising. I downloaded it because it said it would change "Millennial" to "Snake People" but it duplicitously changes other words. Does not work as advertised. It would be much improved if there was a selection feature for "Snake people" change only or for full text changes.
i liked it until i was getting random filters that completely confused me. apparently helicopter parents auto corrects to thoth-amon and i didn't know who that was until i googled it. still, liked the app otherwise.
I like the main joke, but the undocumented, extra ones aren't good. Or at the very least add the option to remove/add them
So funny. You don't realize how often the millennial term is used until you have this extension. You'll be hearing about snake people everywhere now!
It replaces Netflix captions as well. 10/10.
Installing this extension is the best decision I've made in my entire life.
Having an on/off function would be great.
Incredible! I didn't expected so much! Thank you Eric, you've made the world a better place.
This extension should be required when visiting Medium blogs/buzzfeed/etc.
I was wondering for a week what the Great-Ape Snake War was. But seriously, I can't read the news with this thing active :(
Needs a full list of translated words
Millenials to Snake People is hilarious, the umpteen undocumented replacements are not. "Clutch Plague" for Great Depression? Knock it off. Disabling.
It just never stops surprising me. So fun.
Love it, though would really appreciate a full list of translations, If you don't know what they are it can get real confusing!
Excellent app. Every time I forget about it it provides me with a nice little chuckle. However, it would be nice to have a quick on/off toggle, so I can figure out what the other words it's altering actually are.
Makes internet browsing infinitely better. Until it came time to do some animation tweening for work, and I was suddenly very confused why "NeonateLight" was not a function.
I rarely take time to write reviews, but this one deserves all the stars for the amount of unexpected joy it brings me. Do it!
I keep forgetting that I have this installed. Every time that I am reminded, I get a good chuckle. Thanks
I can't accurately copy and paste a link that contains any of the keywords. Can't even manually correct the link when I catch the issue. I'll probably turn it back on in a month or two.
Great fun. However, I had to turn it off. In my mind I was beginning to refer to the real things as their MtSP replacements. Can't go saying "Clutch Plague" in a real-life conversation.
Does what it says on the tin and what it says on the tin is hilarious.
superb
10/10 makes my Facebook friends' political agendas a little more tolerable.
Articles that once would have alienated me now make me feel like part of something special.
Changed it on my daughters system and didn't tell her. Hilarity ensued.
