Stupid adware..

After installing, noticed that my default search was changed. Removed this useless piece of adware.

Changes search bar provider to "ecsmartfinder.com" without permission. This is adware.

This extension does absolutely nothing. Clicking on the SD and/or HD buttons does nothing. Removed.

IT does what is says

Literally garbage ADWARE. I am a security expert and I scanned the code and it is horrible. Please do not download!

As others have mentioned, it works, but It's adware that will change your default search engine to something sketchy. AVOID

Does what its supposed to do, but in typical fashion they like to data mine your information. They also hijack your default search engine so that they can redirect and get even more ad revenue off of your data. Don't download, don't use, in fact, go ahead and just report this extension if you see this comment.

It's like a hack automatcially acces your facebook details / browser details / change the search engine... in simple line great work but take alot in response...

I followed the instructions on how to download fb videos but it didn't work. I'm removing now this extension.

Simply doesn't work. There is no download button. And clicking on the extension as mentioned in the manual will bring you to their website.

Never got it to work. The download option never showed up on the video, even after numerous times of rebooting the page and then the down arrow to run the download never worked either.

Fails to work, further more the link to the official site seems offline. Assumed it's a discarded project.

Doesn't do anything at all. Clicking on it, watching videos on facebook, reloading, nothing gets this to work.

Doesn't work even when I followed step-by-step instructions. Download button does not exist in many cases, refreshing screen or clicking on video don't yield any result. Options are unavailable too. Simply not useful and it's broken.

Not only does it not work at downloading facebook videos at all, but it deceptively changes the search engine to "ecsmartinder." This is clearly adware/malware.

The app is working fine for downloading facebook videos. But why would you change the search engine to "ecsmartfinder.com"? If you change the search-engine back, it will deactivate the "Video Downloader for FB"..... such a pity....

Doesn't Work!!!!!!!

The extension itself worked for me, I was able to download a gogglebox clip to show my mum. BUT, it also changed the search engine to ecssmartfinder without permission and also set the default search to bing. Even when I selected the "Change it back" after the change, it still defaulted to Bing. If this happens to you, right click the address/search bar and choose Manage search engines, then remove bing/ecssmartfinder. Why? Why ruin a decent plugin by adding deceptive things like that?

Works for SD video. However, this extension is a malware as it alters webpages and even go as far to change search engine to "ecsmartfinder.com"

Never worked and just kept a buffering symbol. Also dislike it changed the normal search bar to Microsoft from the default and prefered Google one.

Check the permission list before downloading!!! It will switch your search engine. In my case, instead of using Google, Bing started popping up. I hate Bing :/ Which led to a very a very fast removal of the only extension I've installed in the last 15 minutes. As listed in the Chrome extension library: Permissions -Change your search settings to: ecsmartfinder.com -Manage your downloads The 2nd setting makes complete sense... The first one however, is an immediate privacy violation

Why do you use ecsmartfinder ?

Waste of time! Does not work! Everytime I click on "download" it brings me to "Hide my history." I downloaded that and it still does not work. I'm uninstalling this wate of time.

This may needs an update because at the top corner of the video, it would have a spinning circle and not have any download button :(

This extension is incredible but I'm only getting the SD download option for some reason, can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? I really want to download in HD but I don't see any other options

Like other video downloaders I've tried, it is not working with Facebook. I've installed (easy & successfully), closed & restarted Chrome. Reloaded the page with the video comment, pinned & clicked on the extension icon... all to no effect. No download buttons or anything. It seems to be working for most reviewers so I don't know why I'm having no luck at all with it.

It seems to work okay for public videos but I was hoping to download private videos I have access to. For these type of videos it doesn't work and the buttons do not appear.
