Awesome
THANK YOU!
Does what it says on the tin. Provides the map scrolling I realized I was missing on my MacBook Pro trackpad with minimal jank. Combined with the existing pinch-to-zoom, exploring maps is a very pleasurable experience. Thanks, Maurice!
This is exactly what maps was missing. Wish I would've found this 5 years ago.
Very smooth and comfortable. I'm lovin' it. You can use pinch to zoom.
WOW THANK YOU! I thought I was crazy and I was the only one with this issue. On my macbook from just 2017, i could enable "three finger dragging" and i could use three fingers to scroll google maps with inertia, but now on my M1 macbook, even when i turn three finger dragging on, i can scroll when my fingers are touching the trackpad, then when i take them off, no inertia, it just sticks. It is really a first world problem, but when it makes such a difference to the every day use of google maps. Thank you for creating this extension!!! I'm so glad i found it, it restore the natural, fluid and smooth usage of google maps on a macbook.
I love this and Google Maps should have done this long time ago. One thing I find annoying with this extension is that if I want to move to the left, it wants to go back (because the gesture coincides with the "go back"). One solution is simply copy and paste the current url into a new tab so that there is no page that I can go back, but this should be fixed.
It should be the way Google Maps work on Mac!
Has every little option that you would never want to configure, but doesn't have the option to let you scroll without holding command. Scrolling should be default, and then hold command button for the navigation. The smooth navigation feature is useless for anyone that enables three finger click-to-drag.
It keeps crashing without showing any warning or popup.
Why aren't these the Google Maps default gestures?! Thank you for creating this, using Google Maps for planning bike routes is so much easier now.
Google Maps (at least) is so much better!!
How wonderful! Doesn't work 100% of the time, but it's VERY useful when it's working the way it should. This is basically how Google Maps should be like natively. So silly we need an extension to make it behave in an intuitive way.
This is a great idea, and the map scrolling worked great for me. However, when this extension was enabled, I became unable to open PDFs on chrome. I don't really see the connection, but I troubleshooted and I'm pretty sure its this extension that's causing the problem. Fix needed!
I used to love it, but lately the zoom feature hasn't worked properly. Needs an urgent fix!
Doesn't work for me.
doesnt work at all. running yosemite os on google chrome.
WHAT A GREAT JOB !! Google Maps is too sensitive to my magic mouse , it zooms in out every time I don't really want to.
Unfortunately this now breaks the new pinch to zoom behavior of Google Maps, so I'm not sure it's worth it. Hopefully Google will simply support this "scroll to drag" too, autonomously.
Works with embedded maps, but not with the new Google Maps that was rolled out recently. Needs an update.
THANK YOU! I've been broken-hearted since google maps hijacked my scroll. Liberated! I am liberated! For those who are upset that after installing this extension, scroll-zoom stops working: That's the whole point. This extension turns off two-finger zoom, and replaces it with two-finger map panning. Please stop leaving bad reviews. I can two-finger map pan in all directions, and Cmd-scroll works great for zoom on my macbook air.
Yes, it activates the 2 finger scrolling as it should be with Mac trackpads, but it breaks the pinch to zoom. Now I don't know which I want more...
It does what it says, but is too aggressive in its application, attempting to inject js on each and every page, most often failing and throwing errors in the console. A more targeted extension would be welcomed.
It takes up to a minute to actually start working after a Maps tab have been opened/reloaded. Double tap to zoom-in and two finger tap (three finger tap on trackpad) to zoom-out would be nice. new Google Maps ScrollMaps 1.7 Chrome 40.0.2214.94 (64-bit) OS X 10.10.2 (14C109)
Works great to make scrolling work, but attempts to zoom using only the trackpad are met with sadness (and scrolling north/south instead of zooming).
Very nice extension. One of the things I was looking for for a long time. For the zooming issue: + and - on your keyboard should do the trick.
Good but always triggers a jquery error in my console.
Great! but zoom doesn't work :(
Google maps runs seamlessly with trackpad. Good Job!
Good attempt, but zooming does not work.
THANK YOU!!!! The magic mouse crazy scroll/zoom was a total nightmare. This extension saved my sanity. No joke. I love it that much.
Well, the app does what it says, but now I can't zoom in or out using two fingers on the touchpad anymore. Double-click works for zooming in though, but zooming out seems not possible. I'm running Windows 8.1 on a HP Envy TouchSmart notebook.
Yes, it allowed me to move the map about but totally removed the ability to zoom in n out using two finger gestures so sends me back to square1.
A great idea, but for two things: 1. I'd love to be able to scroll with one finger but zoom with two. It would mean not having to use my other hand to hold down a modifier key. 2. On some embedded maps, activating ScrollMaps seems to cause places of interest not to draw/appear. For instance, on the Parkopedia website, when ScrollMaps is engaged, none of the car parks seem to show. Luckily there's an option to disable the ScrollMaps extension for embedded maps. Other than that, great! :-)
Horizontal scrolling does not work. Very good otherwise.
Super Extension! Danach habe ich schon so lange gesucht. Funktioniert perfekt, wie erwartet.
Finally, a solution to the uncontrollable zooming in Google Maps. Thank you! Double-click will still zoom in one level. Trying to figure out how to zoom out (CMD-double click does not do it)
Works great with a Magic Mouse and the new Google Maps. This is how they should work in the first place. Thanks!
I love it! Thanks for developing this extension. You are a genius, sir!
This is fantastic. Finally maps scroll like they should and don't zoom when they shouldn't! It also works for me fine on the new Google Maps.
Very helpful. Thanks.
Almost perfect; needs support for the new Google Maps that's currently being previewed!
The original description says it only fixes "Mac TrackPads" -- please fix that. This fixes the scroll wheel problem on Windows mouses too.
5 Stars, I just could not handle the wild zooming all over the place. Nice to know there are software geeks who actually think like normal people. This settings should be a part of the Orignal Chrome Extensions (build in) for users to select. Not to have to spend hours looking for it.
THANK YOU sir, whoever you are. This is SO appreciated.
Thank you!
Sweet!!! If possible, it would also be nice to have pinch-to-zoom.
++Feature request++ Ability to switch: ~ cmd+touchpad to do the scrolling ~ touchpad to do the zooming Default is the other way around and cannot currently be changed.
This took care of my problems using Google Maps and Bing Maps. Hooray!
