For people trying to use this, it no longer works, however, a new extension was made that works better. Search "OldTwitter" and it should be there, it is by DimDen. Enjoy!!!

No longer works

IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.

When in use the site says the browser is no longer supported, and won't let me use it without disabling it

Unfortunately doesn't work. I'm sure this extension was great when the old Twitter layout was still officially supported, but I'm rating it 1 star because people should know this doesn't work anymore.

I am giving this five stars because when it worked it was awesome. However Twitter has since gotten upset people wanted the old layout back and has not blocked the use of it, telling you that your browser is no longer supported. I really hope there is a way to update this extension.

I want rid of the banner on top! I see no way to reject it. I LOVED the extension, but I hate the banner.

What they said. Get rid of that goddamn pink banner asking to record metrics or provide a 'NO' button, and I *might* consider still using it. Turned off for now pending your response. You should've asked first.

Hi, I love this extension but is the big pink banner yours? It doesn't say what extension is causing it and it looks super sketchy at least on my browser. I'm afraid to click on it which is probably not the reaction you were going for.

Was doing its job perfectly and then starting asking for my browsing history with no option to deny. Just a huge red banner on every Twitter page demanding for "metrics" with no way to get rid of it. Uninstalled.

An excellent plug-in that did its job wonderfully until Twitter code changes caused it to stop working. Hoping it might be updated soon.

Awesome! This extension is the only thing that makes Twitter readable. I just had to re-enable the extension after a Chrome update. (Two seconds with the stupid promoted tweets had me running to see why the extension wasn't working.) Thanks!!

Worked perfectly until this morning. Now I'm stuck with the new layout again.

Love this extension, as I hated the way new Twitter looked and how it would randomly switch back to the Home setting of the feed (aka in random order due to popularity) rather than Latest Tweets which I prefer. Would like to add for the devs - Twitter is now warning me my browser is now out of date which is extension enabled so I guess the extension may stop working soon

Thank you! The new layout made it really hard and tedious to use the internet archive to save tweets and pictures. I've just noticed just today that they also apply the modern layout to logged-off users on desktop.

this is a necessity for any twitter user.

GoodTwitter stopped working for me, but this still works! :D (just wish stupid Twitter would give you the option to keep the old design instead of making us have to go through these stupid workarounds. But you know what these current year companies always say, options are bad! ;) )

when I logged out of my account today, I was forced into the ugly new twitter, and two of my accounts were flagged. I hate new twitter. I love this extension for saving old twitter!

Works great so far. Every once and a while when I click on a tweet, it loads the author's page then opens the tweet. If I log out then come back it goes back to the intended behavior. Still love it tho, Nice work :)

I've been using this for a while now and it works very well although theres an issue where clicking on a tweet sends a user to the tweet posters profile then views the tweet. I find this very annoying and i hope it will be fixed. Overall this is a great extension and do recommand if you hate the new mobile design. Edit: only issue i had was the one i stated in my review. This extension has no issues beyond that perticular bug.

I hate the new twitter layout. Got this but seems to not be working anymore

Count me among those who are glad for the layout but disappointed that clicking on a tweet takes you to another page and then when you go back it's not to where you left off but instead to the most recent tweet (starts you over again). Room For (an easy?) Improvement!?!

While it does do the job I have found 2 problem. 1.If you click on a tweet to open it, it doesn't open with it its own window at top of what you are browsing right now, it instead opens the twitter page of the tweet owner, then the tweet. 2.Following that, if you go back to your homepage, you get an older/different version from the one you were previously browsing, with different tweets from different people.

This extension has reduced a lot of stress for me so thank you for making this. Sometimes images don't load and the feed will stop loading after a certain amount of posts but I think that's a small price to pay for my sanity xD

It's very useful. I would like if it played better with older twitter chrome extensions, like Twitter Lists Redux, but hard to know if the problem is on their side or here. All told, though, this is the only thing keeping me from trashing web twitter entirely. Hope it lasts.

My only little problem with it is that clicking a tweet from my Home screen brings me to a the Tweeter's page and shows me the Tweet, whereas before clicking a tweet from my Home screen shows me the Tweet This means I can no longer click off the Tweet and be brought back to Home, gotta go Back from the Tweeter's page instead Again, it's a little problem, but annoying.

One problem I'm having is that clicking on a tweet opens the profile of the tweet, other than that, I'd still recommend this over the POS that is the new twitter layout.

The new layout broke display of images embedded in tweets. It also forced updates with new incoming tweets while I was composing a tweet. Also added the joy of a flood of promoted tweets, which is pretty clearly the reason for the change. The interface is now badly broken & @TwitterSupport should take a hint & roll it back. This extension solves most of the problems - for now- until Twitter stops serving up the old interface for all browsers & operating systems.

I mistakenly deleted the layout cookie. The new layout is awful. THANKS GOOGLE CHROME EXTENSION allow me to more enjoyably see the worst of society

This works great. I was willing to give twitter's new layout a try but I have an extension to download things from twitter and the new layout wouldn't let me use it and thankfully this extension fixes that. Open problem is you have to close the browser and re-open it for it to work. If you get this extension be sure to close chrome and re-open it.

Does exactly what it says it will. This is fantastic. I was about to bail on Twitter. I didn't mind the new layout look and feel -- I minded that frequent features I use (like Translate) were buried 2-5 clicks down and required a new parent window for every single use. Amateur hour over in the Twitter offices when it comes to GUI design apparently. Thanks for making a work around their terrible user-experience choices.

It works! You may need to refresh a couple times / clear cache for it to update to the old twitter.

Thank you hero! As an artist, I really need to use many of these platforms for work. I really would prefer them not to look like the ol janky grandma's 1980's helper buttons concept of "mobile" even on desktop (and not being able to see recent stuff makes the point of using the whole platform pointless so fighting for recent was the worst part) If it gets patched out, I will be sad.

It works at first, but reverts back to the terrible new layout and I constantly have to ctrl-F5 to force a refresh. I get the feeling this is the kind of thing twitter is likely to patch eventually & going to need a more permanent solution.
