Edit: this app no longer works so I am changing my positive review. I'll try Language Reactor like others are recommending and see if that works. I love this app! It's been so helpful in learning languages on YouTube! The only issue with it is that sometimes in vertical view, the translation is displaced. For example, when I hover over a sentence, it shows the translation for the sentence above it rather than the sentence that I'm highlighting. Please fix that! Thank you for your hard work and this great free app :)

This app is dead, but got remade. The new name is Language Reactor in the chrome web store.

I used this before, and it worked then. Now I downloaded it and it does not work, from other reviews i see that it stopped working for a while. when will this be fixed? It was such a great tool :(

Evidently, this app is dead. Does not work at all. The developer should remove it from the chrome web store. I wasted 15 minutes, until I sorted the reviews by most recent and figured out it's dead.

Doesn't work. Go download "Language Reactor". It has the same functions.

It was great, but it no longer works. I'm uninstalling.

This is a great tool for language learning, but it is very buggy. Right now it's not even loading the subtitles. Sometimes it does not give the translations either. If it worked as it should, I would have given it 5 stars.

Not working anymore.

I really love this tool to practice English but for some reason it is not working anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this? I remove and install several times but it didn't work. Please let me know if you falks know how to resolve this issue. Thanks! [email protected]

so you know, the most recent update introduced some pretty annoying bugs. 1) hitting left and right will adjust the entire viewport of the video(sometimes) 2) spacebar no longer works for pause and play

Since last week it doesn't work.

There is a bug that is that it does not translate the sentences well into Spanish,And I think it also happens with other languages in the subtitles below

I really like this extension and I bought the pro subscription. it's helping my language learning tremendously, but it has always had problems with the translation being a few steps behind or ahead of the original subtitles. Used to be only for some videos here and there, but now it's not working for any videos I'm trying to watch in Spanish. It seems that if the first subtitle has 2 lines, the translation only shows up for the line above, causing subsequent subtitles to be pushed out of sync. I really hope the team can fix this soon. Thank you so much for the hard work, it's helping the humanity!

I do not know how to fix the subtitles translations getting unsynced with it's French sentence. Such as on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaNqp4FXh-s. I hover on the French sentence for the translation of the whole sentence and it shows a translation from what was said two lines before! I really like this application but I don't know what to do.

Can you make a feature that enables user to sync the translated subtitle to the original subtitle? I find that this extension has good translation but the syncing problem is making me hate it. The translated subtitle appears 2 lines ahead of the actual subtitle, I cant catch up and it makes me confused and frustrated.

It is an application with an unprecedented and powerful method. Something that many of us were waiting for. Thank you.

I haven't really been able to use the extension because the language I'm studying, Irish, isn't on the list of videos I can search up. I'd love for it to be added so I can actually use it, but the features I can see look pretty good.

Used it for 5 minutes - i like it. been looking for an extension like this for a while

Now I can't select the subtitle words, 3 days with this problem. Until the installation 2 times the extension had problems and allways it takes time to fix.

Amazing! Very helpful when learning a language. I would love to to have PRO, but dont like the per every month/year subscription system. Perhaps consider offering a lifetime PRO subscription?

** Update . Bug was fixed very quickly! Thanks This app is amazing, as is their Netflix version. I am learning German at the moment and this tool is really accelerating the amount of content and words I am getting exposed to and learning. Thanks for this tool!

I would love to give this 5 stars as the idea is great. The Netflix version is fantastic and one of the best language learning tools available and I pay for the upgraded version of that one. I would use this Youtbube version even more than the Netflix one but sadly the subtitle translation often just doesn't work. You can still click on words for the dictionary translation but the translated subtitles are so often not working that I've cancelled my pro version and just use the free one now. I would feel more charitable if the makers made a bigger effort to communicate. They never, ever answer messages on Facebook and seem in general hard to track down.

This extension is, without a doubt, a great aid in language learning but adding words' genders in the pop-up dictionary would be very much appreciated by everyone attempting to learn any romance language or German. And perhaps adding a possibility of switching from translations to definitions for those who are fairly well familiar with their target language and seeking to improve their vocabulary.

This app is awesome. You can choose the content you want to study which makes it so much more enjoyable.

EDIT - its fixed now, please disregard the text portion of this review! As of yesterday the extension does not work for me. The subtitles dont show up at all (not synced to the video like they should be), and when I disable the extension the default subtitles show up like they should. Was 4-5 stars but the fact that there isn't really any other similar extension with the feature set I use means that this extension breaking has disrupted my daily language learning routine. When It works, it works well.

Hi guys I've been a pro subscriber for a while and I love this app. I have a question though is this app the same as "app for language" because they mention LLY+LLN but have a different logo. Anyway I will keep subscribing as this is very helpful, thank you so much for your hard work.

Excellent extesion, it's the best one I tried so far. But it would be so much better if it worked on prime video too.

Is there a way to select language to study (as in LLN for Netflix?). Otherwise, very useful program.

I think you need to collaborate with deepl for the translations because most of the time the translations are wrong.

This is extremely useful - you can have the transcript of a foreign language on the right side and the subtitles on the bottom . Also the transcript is selectable and clickable for direct translation!!! It can't get easier to learn a language !

The catalog only has "the language you study = English". How do I change that to spanish? The app works great if the video has the correct transcript captions. The auto caption videos often produce nonsense, so I'd like to be able to search the catalog for the ones that work best.

subtitles are huge but i guess it forces you to study??? super cool anyways

Great, but if we could decide a practicing unit for repeat(↓key) by combining some of each subtitle using check box or whatever, it would be even way better. Because a sentence or speaking unit is composed of mostly 2~5 subtitles so we have to control mouse busily on vertical view instead of using Q and we can't hide subtitles efficiently, too.

Awesome app!! Can you please make it compatible with netflix as well? If it can generate translation for any neflix show then it would enable people to watch shows in a foreign language because sometimes netflix doesn't provide both subtitles. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it. Thanks!
