It doesn't actually search the site, it just searches the Google index. If your site isn't indexed entirely then it won't produce the expected result.

True, there are other ways to search within a site but this makes it very easy!
I have found that “site:domain” is almost always the best way to search a site. This automates the process and makes searching so much faster. Well done!

I would rate it 5 start if the "www" subdomain is omitted when searching. It would be even more effective if the "www" is omitted in searching to search the entire site including its subdomains.

I was able to successfully fix my "Search the Current Site" icon that had stopped responding to my search terms -- even words or phrases that I could clearly see on the site. I closed Chrome and did a re-start on my MB Air, and voila, when I went back into the Website and ran the same search query, Google delivered! I know a few others have complained about this issue over the years so I hope this helps those coming in. I hadn't closed my browser for at least a day so perhaps that's all it needed, but I did a re-start just to be safe.
Reminds me of the good old days when we could use the "search site" function on Google Toolbar. Nice little time saver.

Must have, never had problems with it. Tip: To people who want a keyboard shortcut, the bottom of the Chrome extensions page lets you setup hotkey combinations to your addons - mine is set to Ctrl-Shift-F.
Clearly you guys are way ahead of me. You tool is great and has all the features I need. I just needed to figure out how to use it. PREVIOUS COMMENT It needs a keyboard shortcut to open. Ctrl + F opens search to search in current page. It would be nice to have some other keyboard shortcut to open this search. Before downloading this addon I was just adding Site: to the start of my webpage url. This tool allows me a few less clicks and i don't have to type site like I did before.

It's great. Make sure to right click on the app icon and change the advanced options to search within pages of the selected site.
Well not so much as I hated it, as that it just didn't work. Nadda, when I clicked on it. So it's being removed.

This was fantastic but it stopped working. The options are all greyed out. It is the only extension so no conflicts. I did like it a lot before this.

Would be 5 stars if it had a keyboard shortcut. Really like the subsite option. More fully featured than similar extensions.
Every now and again this extension stops working. This morning I have been trying for an hour or more to get it to work, uninstall, reinstall, options. It doesn't save the options (they don't appear on the pop-up) and filling in the box and clicking search doesn't do anything at all. When it works, it's a 5-star extension, but since it's stop working and I can't get it to work at all, it's 1 star.

Love this extension. Makes site searching so simple. I really like that it gives you the option to chose which search engine you want to site search with, (Google, Bing, Yahoo, or Yandex).
I'm not sure what people are talking about. I click the magnifying glass, it comes up with a search box and site it's going to search on, and I type in what I'm looking for and it comes up with nothing. So I put a search term that is sitting right in front of me, on the home page of the site to see if it works and it still doesn't see it. So I used quotes around the term on the home page and nothing. I went to another site and it still is not working right. I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Maybe this only works on certain sites.
Excellent extension! I know that it is possible to search current site from the omnibox, but I find that to be very inconvenient. This is extension is a MUCH better option! It's simple, fast, and effective. also, I've been using it for many months now, and have never had a single malfunction or failure with it. Fabulous!
This now requires an update
Had this for a couple of months but only just tried it. So 'ere I am staring at some forum with a crappy search system & thinking "Ello, I've been down this road before... I'll need to get the coffee on.". Then I finks, what about that magnifying glass thingy?... oh well may as well see what it does, then I can get rid of it. Typed a few words into the box... then BAM!... 2170 google results, every one of them for that site only!... luverly jubberly, good stuff. HUSKY!.
