It recently stop working completely :-(
I love Firefox
Garbage. I'm using it under Xunbuntu and it does nothing. The path works in a shell, but the button does nothing.
Does not work. No error message to indicate why it does not work.
Didn't work. Win10, latest FF and Chrome.
I have chrome book and this is supposedly easy to download but then there is a bunch of stuff to do after that. I'm pretty confident it would work but I'm having difficulties
It seems to work perfectly after one significant tweak: the path to Firefox needs to be corrected. Open the extension's options and change the path to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe", then hit "save".
Doesn't work, don't waste your time on it.
Does not work. First, you need to know how to use the command line interface on Mac just to install it. I know how to do CLI on Mac. I successfully run the install command from the proper directory on the Mac (which requires administrative privileges), but the Terminal CLI reported "command not found". The instructions say Python is required. I have several versions of it installed, including Python3. This extension is not recommended for being DOA.
No problems - love the keyboard shortcut feature, and the option to automatically close the chrome tab. Would like to see ability to automatically open specific urls in firefox, so I don't have to go through the step of manually running the extension.
works great as intended
Worked great for me on Windows 10. Simple install and easy to use.
The extension did not respond when I clicked on the extension icon. It also did not respond when I clicked on the 'Open ALL' option in the context menu. I think the issue might be that the extension was not pointing to the correct executable location. In my computer the Firefox.exe file is located in 'Program Files' and not the 'Program Files (X86)' folder. However, even after I tried to update the Executable file location and it did not change anything. I would suggest adding a browse folder link to open a window that lets the user manually browse to the executable file location in order to ensure that there is not syntax error.
did not work for me the one by yokris.dev did
Doesn't work
You'll need to change the path to firefox by right clicking on the button this extension creates and adjust the Options. The auto path doesn't seem to realise that my firefox is 64bit and is thus at the wrong path. By right clicking on the extension button you can also "Open All"
This actually works. The first two extensions I tried wouldn't work, even after installing the communicator. But this one works exactly as I wanted. I got tired of copy-pasting URLs in when I needed to open in Firefox, so this is great - thank you.
works Great! thanks
Works Great! I was able to get the native client installed and after a minute the add-on worked great! The only thing I had to do was chance the file path of the firefox application. The file path on my pc is different than the default file path set on the add-on (Windows 10).
This does what it says on the tin. It's not difficult to set up as many reviews seem to suggest. Just follow the instructions and away you go. I've 3 starred it, not because it's average, but was expecting something a little more than launch a file and paste the URL in. I had an extension about 10 years ago for Firefox that would auto launch IE when I typed in a URL. I was hoping for something like that. Detects a URL > auto open URL in Firefox. Would that be something that's possible to integrate?
Once you get the native messaging host this works great!
it works but you need to install this: http://openinfirefox.wixsite.com/openinfirefox this is the host app for this plugin
Doesnt work
Needs extra software, but the download page contains only one download button, and that button downloads some sketchy program with a TON of bloatware. Avoid at all costs.
It did not work it said I had to donload a file opener in the webstore.
sorry. doesn't work. wasted time. (archlinux/python2.7/chromium)
does not work closes tab but does not open it in FF (win7x64)
good
thank you, it helps
I've used this before.I liked it when I had it.
Okay I have I Chromebook Witch runs On Chrome OS And Once I open up My launcher it has not been downloded
it doesn't work
Like the other extension, this one requires an additional installation because Chrome doesn't allow opening other browsers directly. Fine. You have to 'install' a python --YECHHH!-- script, which is always problematic, from the command line. Worse, I only got it to open one tab in FF. It didn't work on any other tabs. And now it doesn't work at all. Worst of all, there is no uninstall script for the script I installed.
Once you download (from the developer's web site) and install the host program (to let the extension tell Windows to open Firefox) it works perfectly. Virus scan showed nothing wrong with the host. The other extension "Open With Firefox" did not work/install for me (kept trying to update the host).
Once the host is set, this add on works perfectly, just don't forget to go on the official website to set the host.
doesnt work
Does not work. Worthless
Works as expected AFTER INSTALLING THE HOST.People, read the description and install the host program, otherwise it won't work.
Doesn't work
Doesn't work
Doesn't work at all.
ok
work perfect :)
Finally an "Open With Firefox" extension that works. No issues after installing host file on Windows 8.1. I just uninstalled the other available "Open With Firefox" extension after experiencing numerous issues. Hopefully this one will continue to work!!
Does not work
Installed the host file on win10, still no functionality at all.
Doesn't Work
It's a bummer that we need to install an additional program but that's not this developer's fault. Works as advertised.
Worked perfectly straight away. I am on Windows 7 64bit. Installed the extension. then installed the host from the extension's website. I didn't even have to restart Firefox, Chrome or Windows. I didn't install Python. I wanted this so I can keep all my bookmarks in Firefox but I like to view a lot of sites in Chrome.
Works well IF you install the host as clearly stated in the description and the website it takes you to after installation. Python is not needed on PCs as stated on the website.
doesnt work
It doesn't work. How do I get rid of it?
Does not work at all.
installed host, installed python, restarted everything. doesn't work. period.
stopped working.
Waste of time
Doesn't work
Broken on Mac OS X 10.10
I find Chrome to be a huge memory drain, whereas Firefox excels in being efficient, but I like keeping Chrome as my main browser; this extension is so helpful for giving my computer a huge memory boost by dumping all of my tabs onto Firefox for safekeeping while I'm doing other strenuous tasks on the computer. This extension definitely my favorite so far, but that being said, it is in no way for everyone nor is it perfect (it's sad to see OSx users unable to use this) but if ever you find yourself in the same situation as I am, download this extension alongside Open With Chrome on Firefox so you can jump between both browsers. My only problem is there is no "Open all tabs on Firefox", which is a real shame because I typically have 10 tabs open at once. I'm so glad this exists, however, and I expect to use it very often.
I use this all the time. Love it. Every time Chrome crashes and forces a new install, I can never find this extension in the Chrome store. I have to find webpages with a link to it.
It is not working for me.
FYI: Does not work in 64-bit version of Chrome. 64-bit will not accept NPAPI plugins.
it doesn't show any effect at all here.
No Context menu item, which makes it useless
This is a very useful extension. I use firefox for downloads(because of the down them all extention) and chrome for general other downloads. But couldn't find it in store lately. But I go to "visit website" from the extension manager it shows.
Works great! But I couldn't find it in the Chrome Web Store when I wanted to install it on my other computer.
Didn't work for me under Arch linux. Input the executable path but was unable to get it to work.
works as expected. would help to have automatic patterns that open a page to firefox, so if i click a link it will end up in FF automatically
You beat me to the idea! *nix (and potentially Mac users) just need to declare the Firefox executable path! :)
awesome
All it does is start up firefox, I can do that without this
Works in linux after adding path in options. It should be automated though. Nice thing :-)
Works on ubuntu after I went to options and set the path to firefox. Woohoo! Thanks so much!!!
I have not tried this as of this time. After I see who it works will rate again if you would like. Thank you Donna Yule
Brilliant, this works just like it says on the tin!
Thanks so much for this little piece of convenience. Much appreciated
It works, but there's no context menu option, makes this not very useful to me.
Needs Mac compatibility
I’m sure this works great on a PC but does nothing on a Mac. Is there no way to warn Mac users during the install process that there is no compatibility?
Great. Works as awesome. Thanks Buddy..
Thanks. This extension is really useful for Webpage development and debug.
Would be better if it was in the right click menu along with open in new tab, etc.
