It worked perfectly fine until there was some update that brings me to a page that has fast forward, pause, etc buttons. It doesn't stream the show and has the audacity to ask how I now like the app. Makes me want to go back to the apple tv for simplicity
CHROMECAST used to work on my old laptop beautifully. Since a year I have a new laptop and it only keeps working fine from my mobile but not the laptop and they are on the same network.

Doesn't appear to do anything. Reviews that said it doesn't work for current versions of Chrome are probably right. Question: why hasn't it been updated or removed?

Doesn't work. Nothing ever "pops up" asking if you want to play the video in Chromecast, there is no button in the upper right corner of the browser, nothing. It appears to be a junk extension that has been abandoned.

I am giving this review due to me still learning this platform. I hope that all it's features come together. I will re-evaluate this site again in the future.
I honestly don't see what benefit this extension brings besides the already existing Chromecast extension from Google, which it seems to piggyback itself onto--offering no additional benefit. Instead, it only complicates the process and makes it difficult to understand why it even intercedes when it detects a video on a page. If I want to cast something, I'll do so when I am good and ready!

Google Chrome is up to date Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit) Absolutely will not work on a page with a video on it but if is a page with no videos it gives lots of popups and I can't get rid of them fast enough to navigate to another page before another popup. I think I hear them playing taps over Chromecast.

Don't trust this! It's a scam! "Don't worry, your card will not be stolen!" Say that to my face, good thing my card was declined! It's trying to take your money! Remove this now! Don't install it!
This does not work and is dumb.
Added to cast to a TV, doesn't find the TV and apparently screws up playing of videos within Chrome.
It does not work on Macbook or Apple product. I am unable to cast from my Macbook to my TV via Chromecast. No devices found when I select cast.

Had a little user error with setup but it works well, remember under the 3 dots on the far left & then from the drop down menu choose cast.

How do I stop this extension? It pops up on my bank's site, it pops up in my emails, it pops up in my text messaging. No matter what I am doing it will pop up and ask me if I want to chromecast some random Youtube video to the site. NO I am doing my BANKING, why the Hell would I want to cast scenes of puppies dancing to my checking account??? How do I get it to stop? I don't want to cancel the extension, I just want it to SHUT UP and let me decide when to turn it on!
This completely buggered up my chromecast, such that Google could not fix problem and I returned the chromecast to place of purchase

To cast your laptop to your TV you DO NOT NEED this extension. In fact it will screw things up royally. If you have it installed, uninstall it then go to this URL for instructions: https://www.howtogeek.com/199565/mirror-anything-from-your-computer-to-your-tv-using-google-chromecast/ Follow the basic instructions then go to the section "How to Cast Your Desktop". You should end up with a share screen to share your entire desktop. Just hit the share button and voila!! it should be working. If you right click on the share icon that should be on the top right of your Chrome window you can select "always show icon" and "enable cloud services". All I can say is these instructions worked for me just fine.
love the idea! but does not work.
Some people panned this app because they didn't get the results they wanted/expected. Have patience Grasshopper! It was a little cumbersome to get it going, but it does what I wanted perfectly and does everything they said it would. Great app.
Garbage. Useless. Video on the page that shows up telling you watch the video to "see how it works" is just one long ad for a GoPro. Doesn't show you anything about casting. I'm sure it's just taking a bunch of my data I don't want it to, so I'll just remove it from my browser. Don't get suckered in.

This link does not work on my new computer or on my apple. Why is it that allthe reviews tell you it doesn't work and yet you still keep it. Just delete the entire link since it is useless.

It works, but has some bugs. Seems that the only way to start casting is to click the casting icon from a youtube video window. when full-screen optimisation is enabled, the sound is muted. When the icon is turned off, there is no way to get it back.

it doesn't work. I even tried to find youtube videos. They were helpful in letting me find the extension but it doesn't work. I would need to rely on my cell phone to cast videos onto my TV. I guess only one device per household can have the google cast icon. This really sucks. Wasted 2 hours of my wednesday night

I clicked on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the chrome browser (customize and control google) and there was the "cast" link. I clicked the link and instantly started casting to my tv, no problem. Hope it works for you.

Does not work on current version of Chrome. There is no pop-up when playing a video nor can I right-click on the video and select to cast. Even though this was theoretically updated in August of 2018 I have a feeling it was originally designed to work with the Chromecast extension mentioned on it's website. Well, that extension was depreciated ages and ages ago and the functionality is built into Chrome. I'm guessing that the APIs have changed and this extension cannot work as designed.
Everything worked good until today when I found the new extension. Just in case let me say that it does not work. Tired of clicking.Thanks Google! SG

This extension works for me. You need to right click the video player and select the option "cast" option when then the "PlayTo for Chromecast" is enabled. I feel that right clicking selecting "cast" is what everyone is missing. I am able to watch Monday night football to my tv and even my formula 1 TV application. Best of luck to everyone.

It only works for a couple of minutes, then the connection is lost. I kept trying, but this happens time after time. No support! The earlier version was flawless, but this one is useless.

Extension somehow still has a 4 star rating even though it didn't do anything for me, so I checked the reviews, and it didn't work for several scrolls worth of comments. I don't know if we're all doing something wrong but, I installed it, and got nothing except a new icon that asks me if I want to disable it when I click it. That's it. There is absolutely no option to cast a chrome video to chromecast. Anywhere.. Why is this 4 stars!?
