You need this in your life! ❤️
If you have 20+ tabs open this extension is a must! Minimalistic, clean, fast. Amaizing work!
Used to be awesome but now you can't see the number in dark mode on your browser. There's just a dark blue box when Chrome is in dark mode itself.
Saves me maybe 15 minutes a day in lost productivity. Amazing! Killer features: - Ability to search for tabs with a given name without using the mouse - Ability to quickly view the names of tabs and close them fast.
Thank you. So productive.
essential extension. Use also with key command for last tab. if anyone is interestied,: here is CSS to put in the options, cleaner design: ------copy below----- div.url{ display:none; } .withfocus div.url{ display:block; } .item:hover div.url{ display:block; } body{ width:600px; } div.title { padding-top: 8px; } .withfocus div.title{ padding-top: 2px; } .item:hover div.title{ padding-top: 2px; }
Exactly what I needed! So many other similar extensions were too limited (usually only supported the last tab, like the "last channel" button on a TV remote). This was far superior and gave me the full tab navigation I needed. Pro tip: enable the popup-less shortcuts for switching to last/next tabs -- they're unmapped by default. I mapped them to cmd+< and cmd+> and it works wonderfully. I also love that this project is open-source, as I found the github repo (https://github.com/babyman/quick-tabs-chrome-extension). I would recommend updating this extension's product page to be better formatted though. It's hard to read, as it looks like just a copy/paste of the markdown from the repo's README.
Great extension! Necessary to migrate from Firefox with recency-ordered tab switching. One issue (please reply if operator error): Often when I "activate the extension" (which I've mapped to ^Q on iMac) it opens a new tab instead of the correct behavior. Any idea why?
This is proving very helpful
Must have extension. Makes life easy to deal with O(100) tabs.
Wow... The clicks and time that this extension will save me is hard to measure. I'm now immediately going to "buy you a coffee" (on Paypal or whatever other method you have listed). Keep up the awesome work.
I dislike that all the important information is at the bottom. This is not a user friendly but I think it is powerful. Would stay if there an option to 'Switches to previously active tab' not Switch to Newer tab or Switch to Older tab.
Thank you for an amazing extension! Have a questions, can I somehow make the popup appear in the center of the screen? (Seems like it can't be done with pure css) Thank you!
Incredibly useful for someone like me who literally has hundreds of tabs open over dozens of windows, like a crazy person. This makes finding specific tabs so much easier!
Its good but quite slow :-( Really slow Update: bbye dear lovely extension - you made my life wonderful all these years . but now Chrome has this feature in-built Will miss you :-(
my fav extension ever
I could deal without this extension anymore with my dozens of tabs. Such a productivity enhancement. The only one I've found that's fast, brings no clutter and is straight to the point and blends into my workflow. Good job.
've got yet don't see a way to 0. see tabs of current window 1. see all tabs of all windows. I see the start after clicking on pinned icon yet want to see all at once with the way to search+go to. Is there a manual to read?
Absolutely awesome. I put some helpful tips at https://forum.shakacode.com/t/awesome-chrome-plugins/2019.
It probably use to be useful. In this new chrome update now you can do the same thing that this can do. The reason I didn't do that bad of a score is because it can also search bookmarks. It's not bad, but I wont recommend it to anyone.
Brilliant extension, absolutely essential. Simple and works well.
Cmd + E and its done!
This is absolute must-have for productive people. Such wow, many thanks!
One of my favourite extensions <3
The built-in omnibox search would be OK except that it only sometimes shows tabs. So this extension is exactly what I wanted.
Great extension!
The best tabs tool out there when you're a maniac like me and ahve 439 tabs open. allows me to limit the number of tabs open by searching and reusing existing tabs. Alows you to easlly find that tab you had opened to look at later. And allows me to wquickly go from one tab to another without having to remeber where it was or search for it. A god send, Thanks!
好用!虽然只用到 CMD + E 这一个功能,足以提升不少效率
Fantastic! It shows all tabs, I mean all tabs even if you have multiple instances of Chrome running, you can see and search all tabs and recently closed tabs along with the URLs. It's a must have extension.
Excellent extension!
Although my rating I LOVE THIS EXTENSION!!!! It is great but, from yesterday, it makes Chrome stuck/hang. The extensions get until 6GB in my laptop and a lot of CPU doing no browsing because chrome get completely stuck. Please, solve the problems (maybe related with last version released)!! It is a great work and I would love get it running again (currently disabled in my installation until next release).
Works perfectly! Cmd-E has become an innate way for finding tabs across multiple windows and screens.
I love this extension's features and flexibility. But on one particular Chrome persona, its "Recently Closed" list will no longer update in order – a bunch of Jira, Confluence, and GSuite links are jammed at the top. I've reported this to the author, who's looking at it. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Found a fix or workaround?
Freaking Awesome!!
Highly recommended as one of must-have tools. This is extremely useful and make my life easier. I can't thank you enough to Evan. This tool must be built into Google Chrome out-of-the-box.
Every few months I revisit the tab management and switching space. Quick Tabs is consistently my favorite. It's actually fast and it stays out of your way. When there's not an open tab, it sanely searches through your closed tabs, then bookmarks, then google! It's got a modern, updated library for fuzzy finding (fuze). If I could give it 60 stars I would (5 for each time I decide it's awesome again).
it is the worst
Greatly improved my productivity. Recently, I discovered that I have to add three spaces at the end of the query to search my history. I remember the history is always included in search result. Anyway, it's a great tool and I recommend it.
no sorting?
Will it be possible to place a separator to segment out the tabs that belong to e.g. Windows 1, Windows 2? I have 3 windows open and it is a long list for me =X And I do want to know when I click on a link to a tab, which window that tab is on?
does one thing and does it spectacularly! recently closed tab list is great when i accidentally cmd-w a tab!
This extension has an interoperability issue with TeamSync Bookmarks. Every time I save a new bookmark, Chrome locks up for 5-10 seconds. The high CPU PID according to Chrome Task Manager is Quick Tabs. TeamSync Bookmarks: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/teamsync-bookmarks/bcopfejjlalhckdkmofjciemgnjkffhj
helps me organize my gargantuan pile of tabs. maybe a cool feature would be to display OTHER tabs across my other devices??? that would be awesome.
Simple and useful for ones that constantly have many tabs opened in Chrome.
It would be good if you had the option not to list separate pages of the same website, ie rather have the option to show each website as one entry
Great. Love that the tab search can also include bookmarks and even become a generic google search. Thanks to bAbymAn who has also generously open-sourced it, keeps up with issues, and handles permissions well.
Been using this for several days and absolutely love it. I often have upwards of 50+ tabs open and this has greatly reduced the amount of time I am flipping through tab after tab to find the exact one I am looking for. The real strength is in the fuzzy searches. I use the "<((" to find all of the YouTube tabs that will randomly start playing after a refresh so I can mute/stop them from playing. I sincerely wish I had found this years ago!!!
Excellent!! Feature request: add support to pin tabs, to keep them near the top of the tabs list, for quick access. These tabs should be highlighted.
At first I installed it and didn't pay much attention to it, but now I use it! It is extremely valuable to me, because it helps me find the tabs with sound. I seemed to have a ton of open tabs at once. It was very difficult to quickly turn off any tab with sound such as youtube when I didn't need it. Thank You for this!
This is probably the most useful and necessary extension I have on Chrome. It saves me so much time and many headaches while navigating around my cluttered browser windows and tabs. :)
This extension is absolutely critical to my workflow. It's fundamentally changed how I organize and structure my bookmarks. As a software developer, being able to fuzzy search in my code, fuzzy search as the OS level, and now fuzzy search at the browser level, has really helped me stay organized (Especially with my level or forgetfulness). If I ever met thisplugins' author in person, I'd buy them beer, maybe even a fancy microbrew or two!
Love it, except when we search and need to put in the letter D. Then... well, it closes the window for some reason! Any thoughts on a fix? It's not a shortcut we programmed in.
I inadvertently removed it from the extensions settings page while cleaning up those I didn't think I used. The mention of intellij DEA didn't resonate with me. When I went back to normal use of Chrome and noticed the Quick tabs extension missing off the tool bar, I panicked! That says enough for the sake of this review!
Probably the only extension I use everywhere (together with uBlock, certainly)!
excellent! my most used extension, wouldn't be without it!
Really nice extension. The only problem I have with it so far is that it focuses URL bar and every time I try to pause my music I'm entering white space in front of URL.
As an IntelliJ user, this is a perfect match! Thank you!
very useful for tab swtiching and bookmark activating. very convenient on laptop and for keyboard centric people.
When opening it doesn't show the current tab I'm on. A minor issue but a bit disorienting when lots of tabs are opened.
Brilliant. Works great with multiple Trello boards and a ton of other tabs open. Makes it easy to find recently closed tabs. Thanks!
Worked great until very recently. Now the search results don't show up. With "Collect Errors" enabled, Settings/Extensions shows "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'title' of undefined"
Requires near constant enabling/disabling to remain functional. Loved this extension until this bug.
Fantastic extension! I currently have 150+ tabs open across dozens of windows, and I finally have a means of negotiating this perilous labyrinth without losing my sanity!
BEST
Ctrl + P is my favourite shortcut, experience browsing web like coding. Like how developer also include bookmark to be searched. Great job!
I would give this a 5 star rating but it recently stopped working with the mouse wheel. I used to be able to scroll wheel through the list but not anymore......what gives???
Maybe beside Quick Tabs in the mouseover popup it could say Cmd+E so that until you get used to it it will remind you what the keyboard shortcut is?
Really good. Icon is not very good - not really sure what it is, need something simpler and more obvious.
**WISH** there's option for restricting switch and search tabs inside this window.
You just made my life SO. Much. Easier... How do I THANK YOU? :D All I can say is Wow... NICELY DONE. BRAVO. <3
I have now used this for a few months, it is truly awesome. If you are juggling a gazillion things and despite todolists and what-not end up with research tabs and so on, this is now essential in my toolbox. Way to go! Big thanks for writing this and I hope that it will always have a maintainer.
It's good. I suggest adding an option to turn on/off current tab list display, because I want to directly see my recently closed tabs.
This worked really well to start with (switching functionality is exactly what I want), but: 1. it froze (text in search box became uneditable) 2. people have recommended cycling the extension via disable/enable - this shouldn't be necessary 3. tabs from other windows stopped appearing in the search 4. the options page is crude - you can't completely disable the extra key bindings for closing / creating tabs - the best you can do is put them on a binding you're unlikely to want for anything else or accidentally hit
I haven't used this much yet, but I'm overjoyed to discover that this plugin exists. I had the exact same inspiration from Intellij's recent-files search and hoped I could find something vaguely similar for chrome. This has seriously made my week.
Nice extension but i expected it to be more useful please implement these things: after opening the popup of the extension, one can type anything and ctrl+enter makes a google search whether a search result is found or not. just like typing in the url bar. the hotkey doesnt need to be ctrl+enter, it can be anything. but i want this feature. please implement this..
Really cool. For all of us who used to Intellij Idea tab control. No more frustrating search for the tab you were previously on.
Fantastic
This by far the most useful extension i 've seen in a long long time! Thanks to the developer!
Great extension and did the job well until... it stopped doing working properly. It keeps showing no tabs. It gets fixed when I disable it and enable it back but it breaks again after a short while. Please fix
The developers of chrome don't seem to understand how difficult it is to find a tab based on the *very* truncated page title. Why isn't there a way to bring up a menu that shows you the full titles? So I went looking for a extension that does it. And I found Quick Tabs, which does just that. But why stop there? Oh look, URLs next to the titles! A way to search bookmarks and history at the same time! Fuzzy searches! Quick Tabs would be a life-saver even without these extra features. With them, it's just the best extension I've seen in quite a while.
Love it
The extension looks promising, but for me it does history search very very slowly - almost unusable. I press 't' and it is necessary to wait for several seconds before results appear..
Absolutely amazing extension! A must-have for people with too many open tabs. Fuzzy search all the things!
Life saver as others mention but unreliable. It's a common occurrence that the extension stops producing matches and has to be reloaded manually.
Used to love it, esp the ability to rapidly search through all my open tabs with a hotkey. Sadly, its gotten buggy for me lately. Wont find open tabs. Has an incorrect number of tabs it thinks are open.
I love this thing. I didn't know I needed it until I used it.
Can't live without it now.
This is a lifesaver for not just HAVING lots of tabs, but USING lots of tabs. I think some of the negative comments here are from people who don't understand what it's for. It's not a tab manager or tree, there are many extensions for that. Quick Tabs just does one really useful thing: fast-switch recent-tab list. I LOVE the reordering of the list by my tab history. In three dot menu, more tools, extensions, hamburger, keyboard I changed the hotkey to CTL-Q for Quick. All I need to do to task switch between two tabs I'm working with, as fast as I can think, is CTL-Q then ENTER, since the list is always reverse-chron. I use Quick Tabs for moving between tabs I'm actively using, and use Tabs Outliner for managing my deep tab history in working groups. I run three businesses from one Tabs Outliner window in the background, with over ten thousand tabs grouped by topic, most hibernated and usually twenty or thirty loaded; and Quick Tabs for bopping around and getting things done. Chrome's ancient UX hasn't even close to kept pace with the way people work. Without developers like bAbymAn, we'd all be using Vivaldi.
I have TMTS - too many tabs syndrome :D. Without this I would not be able to navigate my tabs and find what Im looking for. Absolutely love it! A must have!
Absolutely amazing. Saved my life more times than I can think.
Very nice extension, thank you. One request: I'd like to be able to resize the list of tabs. I often have a lot of tabs and would like to see as many of them at once as possible, so it would be great to be able to make the list longer and perhaps wider too.
Great and productive tool for peeps who like opening a lot of tabs :P Don't forget to map the keyboard shortcut. I've set mine to Ctrl + Space
helpful!
Great productivity booster and simple enough to not introduce yet another layer on top of the browser. Does what it's supposed to, nothing else, nothing more.
Pretty good and very powerful, very nicely customizable. Missing one detail: I'd like an option to keep tabs ordered as they are. (If there's an option, reverse order might also be useful.)
This is an exceptional extension, I've had it a while but I don't think to use it often enough. When I do I'm always pleased. Great Work Evan!
love it
The keyboard shortcut doesn't work (CTRL-E). It just focuses on the location bar.
So good. Must have.
It's really helpful.
Saves me from opening duplicate tabs as it becomes easy to find tabs in the vast sea known as my browser window.
Fabulous concept - does just what it says, emulates IntelliJ, my favorite IDE. Works great.
