This works perfect. Now when I open a new tab and quickly paste a URL it goes where I want. Previous to this extension, I would put the URL in too fast and before it could go to the page the new tab search screen would clear the url and load. This is just super, thanks for the extension.

Great plugin! When I used to open a new tab on the Google search page it used around 5% CPU doing nothing. Its down to zero now! Thank you.

This is great at removing the recently used thumbnails. If this extension had an option to show the bookmarks bar on new tabs also, that would make this extension even better and 5 stars.

I have used this extension for years. Why chrome doesn't have this great feature built in is beyond me.

So great! I was looking for a way to avoid looking at google's stupid suggested daily searches.

If you use Chrome in an address-bar-search-first sort of way, you'll really appreciate this extension: it removes all the rest of the UI in new tabs (that you don't use.) It's my favorite extension, even over ad blockers, because not every tab has ads, but every tab does have that UI you don't use...

Does the job beautifully. I also checked the source code, and its very minimalist and does exactly what it needs to and nothing more.

This does not always work. Go to a page on Twitter and then click the Home button and you get the extension details in the address bar rather than a proper blank page

I really need to use this extension! more Privacy, fast, nice and clean tab. Exactly when I'm try to record my work for tutorial propose. If I can set my logo in middle of new tab page, that was perfect. :) If I have background option that was great to. :)

I spent hours scouring the web trying to figure out how to get this behavior from the native Chrome Settings. This extension is the real deal. Chrome opens to a blank page, there is NO bookmark bar anywhere to be found and the matt grey/black theme is aesthetically perfect. Nick Vogt, thank you. My browser wouldn't be the same without you.

If I don't have this, I tend to open the browser with a specific goal, get distracted by the most-commonly-viewed-links and end up browsing those and forgetting what I was doing. If it could be customised to a different blank colour it would be perfect (the white is kind of blinding at night)

Best blank new tab extension because it is only 4kb, others are 9kb. Also, it reduces the RAM usage of the new tab.

This is a feature that should have been in Chrome. Fixes a huge deficiency and lack of good design by the Chrome team.

Does the job well. Really wish I didn't have to use an extension to get this behavior, but until Google opens up this functionality in Settings, this extension is the best alternative.

It takes the same time loading the new tab page as the default google chrome new tab page. This should be faster as it should load nothing but a blank space.

Great for low-end PCs, or if you like cleanliness. No more waiting for the New Tab Page to load!

Use this on all my computers. Great for slower PC's or if you just want to be able to search Google quickly without distractions. Uses no extra memory from what I can tell and probably saves memory due to not loading all the usual new tab content.

Extension works and it is very simple like the title, a blank new tab. from about 40mb(default) to still 15mb(blank new tab page) are used in memory for the extension. thanks.
