Grammarly does give you suggestions, but only applies them half the time! I'll click on the suggestion but it'll just go away for a bit without doing anything. Might recommend installing it when they fix some of the bugs.

It's a very good extension, but after a while it just stops working. When it gives you a correction, it won't correct it when you click on it and it'll place letters in the middle of words.

To be honest, though, I do wish that there was a way to view your documents history so that you can bring back some things you want on your document. All the other features were okay.

It's not good enough if you don't pay. And it's not worth it if you do.

it is not suggesting me anything, and everything which is important for grammar are premium. As a kid myself, i don't have the access to paying premiums.... so please.

Watch out for grammarly telling you to remove a bunch of commas, I accepted them and now turnitin.com says that I'm missing commas in those places.

As far as I can tell They have resolved the scrollbar issue with Grammarly, You may need to uninstall and reinstall the extension though. (that's what I had to do) I have been using this for work for the last two years, as my typing is very sloppy so this helps out a lot.

Grammarly has been helping me better my writing skills for some years now and it has not let me down so far. I really love this product and I believe it has become a must have for me now. I like how useful it is, especially with re-wording some of my sentences to sound better. Recently I've been expiriencing a bug where on my Documents it would not even change what would be recommended, or if it did it would duplicate the word

This is an excellent tool, but it has added a scroll bar to my Google chat where you type and it's driving me crazy to the point of turning it off.

It messed with the spelling/grammar of my book, provided false grammar/spelling, repeatedly provided false grammar/spelling suggestions. almost massacred my book. don't download it whatsoever.

I so far liked this review. However, the extension just stopped working altogether. I tried reloaded the page multiple times and I tried removing and adding the extension multiple times.

App is good and most of the corrections are helpful even in the free tier. However the floating G bubble is causing a horizontal (bottom) scroll bar to appear on some sites and ruins the UI. This makes me want to look for alternatives.

The extension used to work perfectly, now it does not work at all. not even a loading screen, its just a white box that appears (chrome)

even in the trial version, it does its job perfectly. offers to upgrade to a paid version are reasonable and unobtrusive. so I'll do it soon!

Grammarly is a good website and service, but the extension does nothing. Similar to a previous reviewer, it does nothing as advertised. I have toggled it off and back on again, restarted gmail, google docs, and other websites. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have cleared my cache. I have ensured that I have a premium account. I have signed out of google, as well as grammarly, and logged back in. I have unlinked my Google account from Grammarly and then re-linked it. I have clicked on the extension and an empty white box appears beneath the Grammarly logo on the browser bar. All of this to no avail. Perhaps it's a corrupted install file, browser incompatibility, or some account related issue, but it simply does not work.

As a septuagenarian author, the AI Grammarly is something I wish I'd had when I started publishing research papers 40 years ago. The punctuation checking alone makes it invaluable.

It's very very glitchy to be honest. It does not consistently go into every text box I need it for.

While it may prove useful in certain circumstances, the extension makes me look like a fool when I write in a different language as it does not seem to notice when I switch to writing in something else than English. In that regard, Microsoft or Google spell checkers do a much better job at not correcting perfectly written words because it detects you have switched languages. Maybe it's time to support EFIGS

Im a yr 9 student and I do alot of writing and when Im writing I sometimes forget to check spellings,commas and full stops but now Grammarly does all that for me.

Grammarly checks my writing and corrects, as I go along. This is great! It makes me sound more like I know how to communicate correctly.

The Chrome Extension just isn't working, it works on my actual computer but as soon as I try to use it in chrome or on docs it doesn't work. I'm paying for a service I can't use. this would be different if it was free and not working but I'm paying and it won't work for docs, the program I bought it to use on.

Makes it much easier to fly through something than to constantly be proofing myself. Catches almost everything. Some things I disagree with but most are spot on.

As time passes I am beginning to scramble letters as I type. While I have the correct letters they are in the wrong order. But my brain reads it correctly. Grammarly to the rescue!

The subscription should be made cheaper.

Sometimes I can't spell correctly, so this helps a great deal for me.

Grammarly put random red lines in places where the shouldn't have been, Not very usefull for schook and only useful here and there with assignments

The people who run grammarly need to go to school once in their lives because absolutely nothing that they suggest is grammatically correct. All it does is put random red lines in places where they aren't needed. Absolutely useless.

I used to LOVE Grammarly. it was fantastic, but for whatever reason whenever I use it to revise something it immediately deletes any change I did using the extension. it doesnt happen with any other grammar extensions so I'm forced to believe this is Grammarly's fault and not my own. I DO NOT recommend if you are working on any important documents because it will leave you with a horribly misspelled paper that you thought had been fixed.

Grammarly has serious performance problems that affect my entire computer after leaving the Chrome extension enabled a few days. When this happens I cannot even click on windows without getting the spinning beach-ball of death. The problem goes away when I disable the Grammarly Chrome extension. Note this happens on both Intel Core i9 and M1-Max Macs with 32-64 GB RAM. Also - since when to you have to create an account to use Grammarly? I tried turning it on briefly today and the only prompts to create an account and does not give any tips when writing.

To be straight up front I believe Grammarly is absolute trash. The issues I have with Grammarly is that it does not actually pick up mistakes, it wants to say multiple words are one word and that it is a grammar mistake, and in order to fix it, Grammarly wants to replace it all with a word that is not a real word. It thinks a single letter from one word is part of another word in front or after the word in question and then wants to replace it with a word that is not a real word. Grammarly has so many issues that it is not worth downloading and trying this extension or the PC app. Do not bother with it.

I love having Grammarly, it's very useful for writing. My only issue is that it doesn't seem to accept British English, which is quite frustrating for me. I really enjoy the features that suggest words that sound better in the context of the writing.

It's good! The feature i like is the tone of the article i write, it immediately gives me an overview on how it might look to the consumers. I am hopeful to get more AI integrations.

This. Sucked. Alright, I have to admit, the grammarly app was clutch during my first few months using it, but now, it can't do squat to help me. It's more of a curse than an extension now. The only reason I'm not deleting it is in hope that the actual good grammarly comes back. It's so goddamn broken, that I think it's the only google extension to prevent me from getting my schoolwork done. Screw you, Grammarly.

I've been using the premium version for almost two years now. When I'm writing emails, sometimes it just shows the number of errors but does not show anything else upon clicking it. I've been facing this issue more frequently from the past 3-4 months now. Also, I've observed that it's suggestions have become more weird and changes the meaning of the sentence completely. I hope the developers check this and fix the issue.

It always has this weird button when I'm writing my texts on Discord, and it annoys me so much. Also, when I click Dismiss because I don't like your suggestion, it keeps popping up again and again! Overall it works okay, which is why I'm rating it okay.

I don't like taking away a star, but when typing in text fields there's that damned circle to the lower left and the text I write, buttons, and other stuff gets hidden behind it. I find that annoying enough to take away a star from what otherwise is a particularly useful program. I use it a lot, as I write a lot. Just get rid of that circle, please!

It's super helpful. Sometimes, when an input field on a website is small, it can cover the whole textfield which is annoying. I couldn't figure out how to switch it off temporary.

Please add the (Exception sites) option to: Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit: feature. Many people would not want to use Grammarly in their favorite regional websites. Adding exception is much easier instead of adding just the specific sites.

i have been using this Grammar for chrom for a few years now. And at first it was going good. But now its having some problems. When it tell you there is a word missing or something needs to be remove you have the option of see all the problem, and usually it is supposed to bring you right to where the word is after you click on it, but now its not even doing that it. Now it bring me anywhere in the document. So I'm not to happy with grammar right now. hope you will know what I mean by all of this.

An excellent free extension for anyone that desires more clear, concise, and correct writing. In Google Docs, the side panels highlights suggested corrections to your text. Almost always these are helpful and improve the work. Perhaps most importantly, the extension has explanatory text letting you know why the suggestion is being made. Very helpful!

I do love this software, it is helping me so much and I am very glad to have it, makes things very easy in some hard times. Thank you! PS: Who am I to say such a thing, but I am in Brazil, and when you do exchange currencies, your software becomes too expensive for us. Please consider doing a light version, something like a ladder. It could work... just an idea.

9 times out of 10, after typing what I have to type, I would go to the correction that it would give me, then click on what has to be corrected, and then it will delete everything that I wrote previous to that. This has me rewriting everything again and not using their corrections because it could delete everything I wrote. Very frustrating.

Grammarly is an amazing app, but there's one problem. In Reddit, when I write a post, and I shift down and write another paragraph, and then I correct a mistake, the two paragraphs kind of merge together. I don't know.

This application has again made it pleasure to write. I am no longer stuck on a phrase/sentence because of the suggestions from Grammarly I am able to continue my train of thought and/or no longer have to erase a full sentence or paragraph because my brain froze in trying to find the perfect word.

For some reason it's replacing the whole part of the text by copying previous part instead of fixing just one typo, ruining the whole text.

It used to be great, but then one day it became overly aggressive in correcting just about everything I write. I've changed all the settings, but it tries to remove all of the personality from my writing, including social media posts. It's Twitter ffs, I don't want to change "there's" to "there is". I'm not a drone, but this extension will make you sound like one.

Sucks on Googledocs and wordpress. Misses a lot plus slows everything down. Works well on the website, but this just adds time to the editing process and is a huge inconvenience.

I really liked it, it works great, but I hate how it tries to take out the word "Really" every time. Also in Privacy practices in Chrome Web Store it says Grammarly collects User Activity and Location. So that's weird.

Trash. Can't believe anyone rates it 5*. It doesn't correct anything on Google Docs. The app is way faster and more complete.

Grammarly was working normally for a few weeks, but when I tried using the extension on a Google Docs, it just started responding incorrectly. When suggestions appeared, they would sometimes disappear right when I clicked on one. Everytime I mark a suggestion as incorrect, it would then reappear. It also sometimes just takes random letters and marks it as an error.

I enjoy learning with two apps, Grammarly, and ProWriting. You can't mention one without the other. Thank goodness someone created these apps. I need them, and many other people need them, and it's as simple as that. Thank you for coming into my life at a time when a message in a book is as important as the story I want to share.

i once hated it, but when i got an iPhone i couldn't add "Microjapan" to my personal dictonary, so i installed it, and it isn't that bad after all, just these popups are annoying and it has only english languages, it also doesn't correct dates like LanguageTool

Grammarly has been an excellent tool to use to assist me in correcting mistakes on anything that I'm doing, when I'm sending emails or writting an essay or letters, ect, thank ypou, so much for that wonderful tool.

I love this but It's kind of annoying when i write dialog in a story and then a sentence after dialog and it tries to make me but a comma after the dialog scented before the end quote. What a I write: "Insert text blah blah blah" Sentence I suppose. What it wants: "Here comes the comma," There it is, before the end quote. I don't think this is proper grammar and it bugs me.

this is installed by my administrator so i can't remove it, but it breaks the google docs spell check. all the underlines become white, so i write papers without noticing that i have errors. grammarly spell-check is dumb and stupid and i don't like change, i just wanna see the google docs spellcheck

I love grammarly, but there seems to be some problem- it keeps suggesting corrections like adding hyphens, but then suggests correcting it back to what it originally was, and this keeps repeating. Also, how can I change it to british english?

I love Grammarly. There is one thing any new user should keep in mind; you actually have to review your changes. You can't just set it to "replace all." You need to review it. That is the only requirement needed for you to take credit in your work, whether a college essay or a job cover letter. If you do not review the changes, you get no credit for your revisions.

I have to use Grammarly as a part of my job. I am a literary-type so writing and communicating with accuracy has never been a problem but I can admit that Grammarly helps me notice typos faster and makes me more conscious of tone. It is useful. However I don't recommend having it on your personal devices, this is a work browser and laptop. I also recommend using Firefox for personal browsing.

I really like Grammarly. It's great to see suggestions on how your sentence can improve on tone and structure. I do disagree with some suggestions though, and it isn't always accommodating to my writing style. I have found a few mistakes in terms of its suggestions as well. Rather use it as an optional second opinion, but even then its value is limited with the free option and isn't much different from built-in grammar/spelling checkers.

This program has helped me with grammar and good spelling. I recommend Grammarly to improve grammar.

My main problem with Grammarly is the lack of flexibility. I like to write short stories in my free time, and it is really inflexible when it comes to creative choices. I also feel that it restricts the tone I am trying to convey, wither it's a short story or not. Maybe Grammarly is just for more work-related things, and that's why I'm having trouble. Another problem I have is that the free version barely does more than most default spell correcting systems in writing programs. It does give you some free premium suggestions, but those usually fall into my issues with it overcorrecting tone and creative writing choices. However, my grammar is usually pretty good when I write, so maybe it's more for people who struggle with grammar a bit more than me. Overall, Grammarly is pretty good, I mostly wouldn't use it for creative writing or if your grammar and spelling is already pretty good.

It works great but it keeps uninstalling on its own. I have no idea how or why but I have to reinstall in every two weeks or so even though I never remove it myself. IDK what's going on but if the developers could figure that out that'd be great...

injects ads into sites "they do not own". Like on one of my sites, a ad came up for them, which i dun even have any on it. So they are injecting the ad into MY site getting in MY way of work where it has business being. gone. done. NO WAY NO HOW. ITS GONE FOR GOOD.

Grammarly does great for normal writing. The moment that I have to do anything technical it actively tries to break the instructions due to the nature of the website or program that I am needing to give instructions about. If the above was all that there was it would be 4/5 stars. However the app has started to occasionally prevent me from sending emails so that it could upsell me. Because, this is on the edge of behaving like a virus by removing control of my computer from me it has lost 2 stars.

Grammarly is one of my favorite tools in the stack. Being a social media manager, impeccable grammar is not an option for my clients, it's a necessity! And Grammarly makes that possible for me.

I write a lot. Getting quick feedback on spelling, grammar, and simple improvements in my writing has been helpful in emails, direct messages, and everything in between! I also like the tone detector. I can imagine the improvements with Premium!

My grammar had some mistakes and that wasn't cool, it still have some errors in there. I would not recommend using it for school that much.

I love Grammerly I don't have any problems and it's very helpful.

Would be rated better but the fact that you have to write American English is quite annoying because seeing a red line for something that's not wrong is annoying.

I enjoyed Grammarly, just have one issue, my text cursor turns white when I try to use it in google docs. It makes it hard to see where I am clicking and I found it might be due to the extension. I enjoy Grammarly and it is super helpful, so if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please reach out.

Grammerly is a good grammar check app for anyone that needs help with grammar. The only thing I have a problem with is that Grammerly cant be used in slides. If Grammerly is seeing this please fix it and let it be compatible with slides! Thanks!

it snitched on me for plagiarism on my college essay i got kicked out.

I've been using Grammarly for year without issue but a couple weeks ago I started experiencing lag while typing in only certain webpages (reddit and discord). After trying many things to fix it, finally today I thought about disabling Grammarly for those websites and the issue was instantaneously fixed. Please look into it.

Grammarly Itself is good, and very helpful. However, I use Opera GX as my browser, and it's a bummer that this addon doesn't fully work on here. It used to, but now it doesn't. Shame. I hate Chrome, but that's all it works on.

Terrible always turns off randomly

absolute garbage, always wrong about everything, only turns on about half the time anyway and when it does it turns a perfectly normal sentence into garbage and just now it actually tried to prevent me from sending an email cause I had paid them money.

I love Grammarly

I used Grammerly for the first time back in 2016 and since then, I have requested the extension at 2 other jobs. It's a huge help especially when I struggle to find the write wording for correspondences.

Uh it is good, Just it annoys me when I'm doing school because I'm Filipino and it tries to correct me when I'm doing Filipino. I can't just turn it off and on back again , that is so wasteful.

Very useful for writing. Both long and short form.

When it works it's amazing. Unfortunately, the Google Docs plugin has many problems. Considering I use Docs for 99% of my writing, it's incredibly frustrating to pay $100+ for something that doesn't function reliably. If I copy my writing into the .com editor, it completely screws up the document formatting which adds another 30 minutes to an hour of work to reformat after editing. If there was a better tool out there, I'd use it. Until then, fix the problems or lower the price.

Grammarly is the best grammar checker ever! I'm a school student and during 2020/2021 online classes I would always use Grammarly to check for homework mistakes. I really recommend Grammarly for writing essays!

I am a student that writes a lot everyday and I don't recommend Grammarly for a student that types a lot each day. It would error every 5 mins, and would change my writing British English when I put American English. I really don't recommend Grammarly.

It was a good app but recently it keep suggest the wrong spelling word which is American English as I already set it to Bristish english, very annoying =w=

Grammarly is perfect and I use it consistently for work. Generally Grammarly for Chrome works alright. Anyway as of late the Chrome augmentation has become truly untrustworthy. It will make ideas yet the feature text isn't accurately or not what it is alluding to. So I have no chance of knowing where it the report it could roll out an improvement. Likewise the proposes to abbreviate the length of a sentence or passage are at some point garbage. Removing words to make a sentence more limited is at time silly and changes the whole importance. I frequently wind up replicating the report into My Grammarly and rolling out the improvements there in light of the fact that basically the recommends coordinate to the featured text.

Grammarly is great and I use it every day for work. For the most part Grammarly for Chrome works ok. However recently the Chrome extension has become very unreliable. It will make suggestions but the highlight text is not correctly or not what it is referring to. So I have no way of knowing where it the document it might make a change. Also the suggests to shorten the length of a sentence or paragraph are sometime nonsense. Cutting out words to make a sentence shorter is at time ludicrous and changes the entire meaning. I often end up copying the document into My Grammarly and making the changes there because at least the suggests match up to the highlighted text.

I have no idea why the hell Grammarly is relying on AI to find the word in any project and mixes them resulting in incorrect spellings. It changes the whole meaning of sentence. It is so frustrating when you are running a project report via grammarly which has 5000 words. Rather then solving the issue it creates a lot more. Grammarly team, we appreciate you have made a software for an ease but please don't make our work more complicated. Try to invent any new idea rather than improvising and existing properly working tech app and make it worst. Please relax!!

Grammarly is a wonderful tool for any writer. When added to Google chrome it will identify errors in your writing on many different programs. It is super easy to correct your mistakes. Grammarly underlines the grammar or spelling error in red and when you hover your mouse over it a suggestion will pop up to fix it. Grammarly will also help with the tone of your writing and the style. It's a great tool for students as well as anyone in the workplace.

I love Grammarly, but when I was going to sign up for Premium it is extremely deceptive, it says starting at 12 dollars a month, but when you click on it, you have to choose between, 30, 20, 12 a month. 30 is every month, 20 is quarterly, and 12 is yearly, but its a lump sum of 144 USD. Not everyone is able to put down so much at once, along with that its advertising as 12 a month, I'm putting a complaint in with the BBB for false advertising. Should be illegal to claim its 12 a month but not say its a lump sum until you're about to pay.
