On each refresh the sidebar shows for a split second causing a jarring UI adjustment, but at least it works.

Used to work perfectly, but now it doesn't function. I found a similar extension called "reddit Sidebar Hider", that works correctly.

This extension recently stopped working after an update to Chrome. It used to automatically hide the side bar but now I have to click show sidebar then hide sidebar for it to work on each tab.

Used to love this. Now the option to hide the sidebar doesn't show anymore.

Loved this extension but no longer working on Reddit for about the last month. Please fix!

This is the best reddit extension, but it has suddenly stopped working. Please help!

Worked awesome until reddit redesign, leaving a LOT more space so you can use the other half of your monitor for other things like work or netflix. UNFORTUNATELY, it does not work as it is not set to scan and activate on old.reddit.com Please dev add this to the compatible sites list so it will still work :)

Doesn't work with r/gamedev's filters (ex: https://nq.reddit.com/r/gamedev/#nq-filter). (It doesn't appear.) It flashes the sidebar on load. After years of enjoying this extension, I've switched to "reddit Sidebar Hider" because it fixes the above problems.

This no longer works due to the Reddit redesign forcing people to go to old.reddit.com.

While you CAN hide the side bar, it doesn't change the format of the page so.. it's basically pointless. :D

I split my monitor between 2 windows a lot on my laptop and this is a god send. Drives me nuts that reddit doesn't have a better responsive design, but this at least helps with some of those shortcomings. I see some other users complained that it doesn't fill in the page, but so far it has been working exactly as intended for me.

Does the job.

Works fine, hides the whole sidebar and frees up the space for the thread. Make sure you still read the sidebar before posting, folks.

It hides the sidebar, but the empty space isn't filled in. So my browser is mostly taken up by empty space now, not the actual comments or post that I wanted. Gave it 2 stars because it does what it's title implies, just poorly in my opinion

So easy to set up. Did exactly what it said it would

Extremely helpful, easy to use. When reddit is on half the screen, the comments get shortened to a few words per sentence, increasing the height of the comment greatly. This fixes it.

Did what I wanted and took me 20 seconds tops to get it done. Didn't have to turn off subreddit style but that's probably subreddit dependent.

Does exactly what it says it'll do. Works with RES

WORKS! Also shows the WHOLE area instead of leaving a big blank space. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!!!! 8/19/2016

Works i guess, but it doesn't extent the page to the right to provide more space (the whole reason i need it). it simply hides and leaves a huge empty space - so it's kinda useless in this.

Works perfectly with RES!

Works great, you just have to disable 'use subreddit style'

it doesnt remove the white space the sidebar leaves behind

Doesn't work with RES

Removed sidebar, but left the white space, completely pointless.

Best thing to happen to reddit since RES

Alan McGrath January 9th, 2015

Pointless since the space the sidebar took up still stays there, blank, so it doesn't re-size the page/comments to fit the screen.

EDIT: This actually works fine. There are some subreddits where you need to disable the "subreddit style" on the sidebar or else it will just hide the sidebar without expanding the rest of the page, making it useless for slim windows. Would give it 5 stars if it somehow could override the subreddit style.

Jesse Layton September 20th, 2014

Doesn't seem to work with RES. No button to hide the pane.

It saved the hide sidebar setting for me between pages and across sessions, so 5 stars from me.

This app is perfect but I would love the ability to turn the sidebar off by default in an option somewhere. In other words the default would be hidden and the link would say "Show Sidebar". I have to click it every time I want to hide it when I change pages (fairly frequently on reddit).
