The greatest extension ever on Chrome.

Five stars because the developer works really hard for a free app, responded personally to a bug I was having and figured out a solution, and because it works. The issue for me was that as Google changes their interface for Google Meet, the developer has to update the app. But I recommend it because he keeps working with it and it's been useful in my university classes.

This extension has been amazing this year with us having to take attendance in a remote learning environment. Robert was great in problem solving individual issues, even making me a personal video for some complicated work arounds to do what I needed to do with this extension. A+ in my book - thank you!

I had no issues with this extension! I love it! Until yesterday! I used it with one of my classes and as soon as I connected to the three breakout rooms that my students were in I could hear all the audio of all three rooms together at the same time in the first breakout rooms. The other two breakout rooms had no sound. I can't imagine what can be the problem. I tried to disconnect and connect back again several times but it just didn't work.

We are a online microschool and this extension has been an absolute assist in our ability to give individualized instruction and group collaboration. While I have not needed to seek help yet, what I greatly appreciate is how responses are given to people's enquiries. I have had no luck in contacting the so-called BIG apps to get an a non-programmed answer that solves nothing. You are a human, a real person and I greatly appreciate the fact that you OWN and take responsibility for your extension and how we benefit from it. Thank you

1st Pop Up: An existing open meet window cannot be synced. Please close this control panel and all meet windows, and then start again. Closing a meet window will not remove students or disrupt their discussions. If you have many windows open it may be simplest to just close all windows and start again. 2nd Pop Up: Error in creating the link for nickname Meet C. You might be getting this error because you did not login using your google suite account. Please note that only google suite accounts can create a meet using nicknames. If you do not have a suite account, then you may only create static urls (purple color) or codes (blue) in the Rooms tab. If you do have a google suite account and are logged in, then please log out and log in again using this link: https://accounts.google.com/SignoutOptions Q1: MAY I KNOW HOW TO OVERCOME THE ABOVE POP UP WHEN I WANTED TO START AFTER I'VE COMPLETED THE SET UP? I am writing this review from my podcast Google account because I do not have access through my school account. This is an amazing extension! By utilizing this extension my students have been able to collaborate with each other, It doesn't matter if they are remote or in person, now they can collaborate just as if they were in class sitting next to their project partner. Students have mentioned how much they have loved being able to collaborate with a friend or classmate again. Best of all it is free! Now, just imagine there is an issue with the extension, what do you do? Well, I emailed Robert Hudek and holy smokes he responded quickly and offered to work with me to help figure it out. Great extension - I use it for work all the time. I have only set up a basic class with it, but that is only what I need it for. I have the majority of my students my main teaching Meet, and have 1 or more students in the breakout Meet to discuss work/catch up etc. Being able to record it (which you can as it is just using Google Meet anyway) is excellent - great for safeguarding and remote learning, and great for meeting my school's remote learning policy. Also, the control window is brilliant - switching through the Meet windows is so easy, and I especially like the auto mute/mic function. Great job - I will continue to use.

The "Hide Meet Bottom Bar" button is not working for me.. please help

I've just started using this. It looked daunting at first - so many things you can do with it - but it was remarkably easy to set up, and so much simpler than earlier versions. My students enjoyed actually being able to talk to each other during a lesson, and the feel of the online interaction was significantly more positive. My school asks us to record all Meets, and there's not currently a one-click way of achieving that with this extension, but Robert replid to my query within 24 hours and is working on a solution. Can't really ask for better than that. Thanks Robert! ?

Amazing extension!

This extension is great! So much more functional than the new breakout room features in Google Meet and much easier to use. Had a problem with one of the features about a month ago after a previous update and contacted the developer (Robert) directly. He got in touch with me within a couple of hours and had the problem solved with a new update by the next day. Very nice and easy to work with. Highly recommend this developer and this app extension!!!

Love this extension! I have been using this extension since September and it has been a blessing for me. As a special education teacher it is extremely important that I support my students independent needs and this extension has allowed me to do so. I am able to have my assistant work with student one on one or in a small group. It is also very useful when doing group activities. My students like that they can work with their friends. I will admit it took a little time to get things set up and to get used to using it, but once you have it set it runs fairly smoothly. I shared it with my colleagues and they are loving it as well. Once again I have been truly happy with this extension and I am so pleased to have found it. Thank you so much for creating it and sharing it.

Hi, as one of the very first users and subscribers to this app. I can, hand on heart, say that this has made a huge difference to my lessons. To be able to have my students working in groups and pairs is a godsend and has, in effect, introduced a new norm. and means I can work much the same way as I did before lockdown. The students appreciate it too. I have to thank Robert for the close attention he pays to app. updates and the amount of detail he always gives. Typically teacher, he listens to suggestions and ideas too.

plz reply whoever created this. when i use this for personal use, it does not work. i try to create the breakout rooms, and it says that they "failed to sync because i am using a different account," but i am not!

i liked it alot but the thing is that the turn off volume button (the green one) doesnt turn back on once you turn it off

This program is the best program for breakout rooms. The Enterprise Google Breakout room has one big flaw. You can not monitor all breakout rooms at the same time? This was not created by Teachers for Teachers. There are two issues you need to figure out. Once you do, this is by far the best program ever written. I emailed Robert a questions and got an immediate response. Issue 1. You must have your District google account as the Default. Unfortunately, Google does not make that easy. You must sign out of all Google Accounts, then add your default account, (District Account) first. Then add the other accounts. Then switch back to the District account. Once done you are good to go. Issue 2. Freezing. When you have your breakout rooms open and have the app open, it will run at a very slow speed (Look like Freezing) when you play a video. Just close the app, then play the video. Good to go. Also, setup. Watch a couple tutorials. But Robert has made this so easy. Go to courses, add names for each. Then goto periods. Just add the link from your google classroom for the class, then just name the breakout rooms. I name them Group 1, Group 2, etc. and save. It automatically does everything for you. This is such an improvement from previous versions. Good Job Robert! Then go to meet, start class. Add the course, then sync. Remember to hit OK. Then add breakout rooms. I wait until all done, then select the retile button then setup the wonderfully thought out breakout assignment section. Copy and paste in the comment sections. You now have the easiest and most controllable breakout room out there. I hope this helps!

I just have a question, does this extension only work when somebody is in the meet?

Absolutely excellemt extension, so helpful and very comparable to zoom breakout!! for those that have teachers account you won't be able to give review, have to do it with personal account. Love this extension, keep making more updates, you are steadily covering all the needs

OK, I am just starting out so the 5* is based on first impressions and a few dry runs, without participants. It looks fantastic. I want to use it for an on-line Quiz, with teams. Has anyone done that? Any guidance?

This extension is awesome! My school district isn't going to ever have the version of Gmail needed to get breakout rooms in Meets. With this I don't need it. You just name your classes, add your room names, but in your class code and it sets it all up. It gives you a remote control to move from room to the other with one click by automatically changing all the mic, camera, speaker etc for you so there's no echo conflict. It lets me talk to all breakout rooms at once or just one at a time. AND! it gives me a few extra controls that I don't usually have in Meets. I can mute everyone at once with it, remove everyone at once... all of those nuclear options that we have wanted in case something goes wrong during a meet, it lets me do! I use this extension now for all my meets even if I'm not doing breakout rooms that day so I can have the extra controls. I also like that it lets me choose the color of the controls shelf because I've learned over the past 2 months to try to make everything as easy on the eyes as possible. My students love it so far, they are much more comfortable turning on their cameras and unmuting when they are in a smaller group and now I can finally take a student aside during class to talk about their grade or anything that really shouldn't be discussed where the whole class can hear. The app producer also has a facebook page, I asked a question and got a response and solution. He seems very open to questions and requests, I was very impressed. If you want breakout rooms, try this it totally works.

Love this version! It's the only one I've found where I can speak to all the rooms at one time to cue them or close out the breakouts or whatever! It's SUPER easy to use once you get the hang of it. The layout is in order and it's designed to guide you in the order you need to complete in order to start your breakouts. LOVE this extension- Game changer for remote learning. Student Feedback was that they felt most connected to their peers when using break out rooms. :-) Still wondering (and afraid to test it) does this work with the new google tile grid? Or does it only work with the old Google "Fix"????

Great extension-As a middle school ELA teacher, the use of breakout rooms is a game changer. The video tutorials were thorough and easy to follow, allowing me to get up and running quickly. Even more impressive was the fact that Mr. Hudek took the time to respond to my inquiry about how to set up multiple Google Classrooms most effectively. Thank you!

Please keep supporting this -- it's superior in nearly every way to the current roll-out of Breakout Rooms that Google Education Apps has rolled out, particularly the slider feature and the auto-shutoff of mics and cameras as you move between the rooms. The only feature I'd like to see, and I'm sure you've heard this a billion times, is the ability to move students into the rooms automatically or by shuffle, like BBCU or the current Google rollout -- but hey, I can live with it as it with the click and drag feature to assign students to rooms, even if it doesn't actually move them.

I started using this extension with my classes last week. After the first time setting rooms up, it has been a breeze to adjust break out rooms on a daily basis to fit the needs of my class. There was one small glitch, but the developer was quick to respond and help me trouble shoot. I love that my students can still work collaborately while distance learning and I have the ability to monitor what is happening. Definitely worth using!

This extension crashed every time I tried to use it and also prevented me from sharing my screen during a Google Meet with my class when I wasn't even using the breakout room extension. I am super disappointed that Google can't come up with a better solution for teachers during this time.

Hallelujah!!! This is the answer. NOW I can bring my students back to Google Meet where they belong since their Chromebooks are designed for Google products. NOW I can supervise students in breakout rooms because I can see them all at once. NOW I can talk to them all at once. I am so grateful for this extension! I set up a class in under 5 minutes and was ready to go. Everything is saved and works great. Still exploring how to call students back to the main meeting. If I close a breakout room, are they automatically sent back to the main meeting? Can I end all breakout rooms at once? Also, I want to make sure everyone is out of all rooms before I shut everything down so no one is left online unsupervised. Thank you again for this amazing fix! Sorry for the rude and ungrateful reviews that a) don't even understand that you are not Google (duh) and b) can't even say thank you for the fact that you offer this for FREE. You rock, and I, for one, am VERY GRATEFUL. THANK YOU!!!

This extension works only on your first Gmail account you are logged into. In my case, the first is my private account. The second is my school account. I only need it for my school account. But I can't change it, because the first account is also the one I use for my Chrome management. I don't want to change it and would not do that. Obviously, this extension doesn't work in incognito mode. So, unfortunately, this extension doesn't contribute anything and it is rather disappointing.

Terrible. Too complex, not user friendly. Google on the whole has really let down our nation with its distance learning apps. The #1 reason distance learning sucks is google.

As a high school science teacher in a hybrid teaching model during COVID, this extension is invaluable. It allows controllable collaboration between kids in school and at home. Fantastic tool...not sure what we would do without it. Excellent support from the creator!

I cannot say enough about this extension It is so easy to set up and then use with my classes. I am able to toggle back and forth among the groups. This app does everything for you from muting/unmuting each time you move from room to room, to being able to broadcast to all rooms at once, plus it randomizes the students for you too. It does not require the students to have the extension either which can be a pain to get them all to do it. The developer is on top of it too. I had a small issue one day, and I emailed him. He had a fix for the issue the next day, and emailed me back to make sure I had it working, so I would always email him if you have an issue. This app has made my classes much more enjoyable and has saved my sanity this year!

Went through the tutorial and am super excited to try it out live in my Sunday class. Kudos to Robert for creating this very much needed extension for google meet!!! Am still trying to figure out as to how I would assign each of my students a puzzle or worksheet for them to work on in their own rooms. Any insights into this will be much appreciated. This is happening to a coworker and we cannot figure out why. Can you please help us? You wrote this about the current fix but we are having the old problem. here is your post. Features Fix Audio problems Some teachers were not able to hear their students even though the speaker button was on. I believe this v16.5 will finally fix that problem as well as some other anomalies associated with the mic and speaker. If you still experience problems please let me know so I can know the details of how it happened. We may want to schedule a meet where you can show me, if that is convenient for you.

This is so anoying. it won't work and the google meet breakout rooms don't work becase othetr people will just stay in the same room and not go to the breakout rooms.

So like many teachers we have been thrust into the virtual teaching world. Certainly NOT what most of use are used to or signed up for when we started. Love Google , BUT our district decided to use Meets and as you know it has no ability to do break out rooms. Talk about feeling handcuffed!! I found this app and I struggled when I first tried ( didn't watch videos of course ,,,its a guy thing, I can figure this out.) Once I did, wow, this is so great!! When I do grade discussions with my kids ( High School) I make a grade discussion room and have them come in one by one and we have those talks. This is so flexible. Thanks Robert for saving my sanity and making the virtual world a little more real.

Well, it worked pretty well at first. After a few weeks it erased all the data I had. I did everything again and it didn't work anymore. :(

Worked great at first! After about 3 min it started to freeze up and then a minute or two later it kicked everyone out of their breakout rooms. I was unable to switch from room to room because it kept freezing up.

Robert, You have given what I longed for! My colleagues swear by zoom. I refused and used Google Meet. Now I need guidance in setting up breakout rooms for 6 classes of approximately 30 students each. Thank you so much!

As an older teacher, frankly a little intimidated by new tech, I found this app surprisingly easily to use. I especially like the dashboard that allows me to open a meet and rooms without ever going to classroom. I can also see all room separately and speak to them to then one at a time or all at once. Special thanks to Mr. Hudek who responded promptly to my request for help (data entry errors, of course) and kept responding till he figured out what I was doing wrong.

I loved this app until the new update. Now I get an error when I try to sync my main room and it wont open my breakrooms.

This extension has not worked for me or my students at all.

The extension 16.1 was amazing! Now with the 16.2 version I cannot sync my room at all! Please put back the button that I can click so it takes a picture of my main room in the Start Class bar to make the participants list. Please make this change or make that button an addition to the start class bar so it can be like before! Please please!

I love the extension in that it's so easy to create the breakout rooms and it's a one time set-up. However when I tested it today and tried to toggle the rooms, it didn't allow me to move from one room to another and got this message "or: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined". Can you tell me what this means?

Absolute game changer

Thank you so much for your time and energy in developing this extension. I just held my first "practice" run before using it live in my classroom next week. Although, there was a bit of a learning curve, I'm still excited to try it out on Day 1!

Free, works great, updated regularly, helpful videos on how to use the product, developer is enthusiastic about his product. What more can you ask for? I'm not sure how Google will beat this product when they release their version of breakout rooms. They should just buy this one.
