This was about the 8th extension I tried that were supposed to do this, but all of the others scrolled my tab list all the way to the bottom (vertical) when opening a new tab. This was the only one that simply opened the tab and left the scrollbar alone! Kudos to that! To anyone else reading this that wants this functionality on the standard Ctrl+T, while extensions cannot automatically override basic shortcuts, end users can by going to chrome://extensions/shortcuts . That settings page will allow you to change the Alt+T to Ctrl+T and the default new tab opening shortcut will act like it "should".
absolutely needed in chrome features
Does its job perfectly without any intrusive permissions.
Perfect. Does exactly what I want. Lets you customize the shortcut and does not interfere with other tab opening actions, like using the + button in the top right
Yes! Finally a new tab extension that allows the keyboard shortcut to open next to current tab, while allowing the tab to remain in last position when the + button is clicked! Most intuitive option I've found. Thank you!
Love it, works as intended. It's a shame that it isn't a built-in feature on Chrome.
Doesn't work in kiwi browser after updating to the latest playstore build.
It works like a charm. The only thing that I would wanted to see is the ability to change the backgroud color of the newly opened tab to black or, probably, some other colors.
Excellent extension – works exactly as intended. For anyone wondering how to change the shortcut for opening new tabs, change the Chrome setting at "chrome://extensions/shortcuts." I changed mine to command + Y and command + shift + Y.
Thank you!
Works great!. Pairs well with Tab Position Customizer 2. But why are there 2 shortcut keys you can map? They both seem to do the same exact thing.
Excellent! I use this one on a daily basis.
Brilliant! Finally I can open a new child next to current with a customised shortcut Alt + t. :-)
It just works great! Finally a nice working implementation! Plus it's Open-Source! Thank you! (Tested on Linux) O_O
