Works on one site I tried it on so far. The indication it works is subtle. It will distort or move the column with a animation. but that means the column was copied. You can then paste it into notepad ++ etc.
It just doesn't work. It does absolutely nothing. You get two options - copy a column or copy entire table and you just get ignored no matter which option you click.
Didn't work
Used to work like a charm, but it stopped working a few months ago.
Damn, it worked, and like charm, the column makes a kind of animation when it is copied, cool.
It simply doesn't work.
Is there supposed to be some sort of feedback saying if it worked? Cause it doesn't work.
wooo good app
Brilliant, great time saver.
I have used this before and it was so, so helpful. But I can't get it to work now. I tried switching back from Salesforce Lighting to Classic, thinking this was part of the issue, but no luck. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but still no luck. Not sure when it will work and when it doesn't. I would LOVE to have a functioning version of this and/or know when it should and shouldn't work.
Does the job well but needs an action/option that removes the header so you just get the data (probably only for single column copy). It would be better to also have a select Row option, even better if thre was an option to also copy the header at the same time.
Works really well with webpages exactly as described. It solved my problem of copying text one by one from one particular column within a large table.
Has been working well for me for several years. Occasionally does not work on fancy websites, but that's not really because of the extension. One suggestion that should be easy to implement: We currently have " Copy entire table" and "Copy this column", why not adding "Copy this row"?
Works well, instructions aren't very clear but playing around until something happened helped me understand it.
Works for some test tables I tried this. But I NEED this kind of extension for ConsumerLab website, it has tables this doesn't work at all! If you can tell me how will this work for Consumerlab website I can give 5 stars.
Great :-)
This doesn't work....completely closed and restarted chrome. Nothing happened
Had trouble with dynamic tables where left-clicking, even with ALT held, will invoke a page change and right-click will open a page-specific menu. Solves this by simply dragging-selecting some text on the page. Now under this condition, right-click the table and now the options for 'copy column' or 'copy table' will appear. I guess with text selected, any page ui scripts are ignored.
Doesn't even work on your own github page
Hi James, You have an developed a wonderful of software. But I wondered, is it is possible to add the ability to run this across multiple tables at once on the same page, or can this only be achieved by copying one column/table at a time? Thank you for sharing this amazing extension!!!!
Works like a charm at copying a single column or the whole table. Not sure why there's no option to copy rows, or multiple columns, or a group of cells in a table. Firefox does all this natively very well.
Doesn't work on MacOS
Doesn't seem to work any more, anyone know a good alternative ?
Loved It
I installed a lot of plug-ins to copy the table but no one was working. The plugin that was working was not copying the entire data I installed this plugin in the last I did not even expect that these plugins will work so well. I have also copied about 25,000 rows of tables from this plugin. And this plugin has saved me a lot of time and my job has been easy, I would say thanks to plugin developers who created this plugin.
Doesnt work on dynamic tables.
Cannot copy with table font color .. developer should give that option also .. otherwise its a good extension ..
I've been using this with Salesforce.com and it saves me so much time. Love it! However, it only works in Classic, not in Lightning.
Thank you! Works fine and will save me lots of time.
Rectangular select in the browser at last! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ @James Andres, wishlist ??: support for list-style tables (e.g., <dl>, <dt>, <dd>, <ul>, <ol>, <li>). ?
Wouldn't copy a column or table in Wikipedia on a Mac. Useless.
Only copies an image of the column, would expect it to copy text for pasting elsewhere.
I've been using this for a while now and absolutely love it. Sometimes the copy function triggers automatically when I don't want it, but that's minor inconvenience compared to the productivity gain.
Awesome tool
Always worked for me. Save me lot time.
Works just fine for me! A real time saver!
Perfect
Doesn't work at all.
It doesn't work
this can select very simple table, doesn't work with smarter tables
It copies when it wants. Sometimes it copies, sometimes i have to reload, close chrome and re-open - even then, its a hit or a miss.
Worked instantly and so far as expected. I discovered this add-on at the right time as I was just trying to figure out how to do some Salesforce documentation on workflows and Process Builder. This will help a ton.
THANK YOU!!! Awesome time saver!
Simply did not work. Nothing visible happened, and clipboard did not change. Chrome Version 50.0.2661.102 Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit)
Awesome :)
Sorry. You need to reload current page in order to let it work.
50 shades of awesome - good work. This is going to save me tons of time.
1. Clicked install and it just worked - didn't need to restart Chrome. 2. Does exactly what it says, copies entire columns and entire tables.
Fantastic! It has saved me hours of time.
It doesn't work.
1. Needs Chrome to be restarted 2. Only copies ENTIRE columns If you need something to copy sections of table (such as 5 rows from 1 column) then try CopyTables instead, which works "as expected" by using the Alt key and highlighting.
very helpfull
needs to have option to select 2 3 columns if needed.
Worked perfectly on Atlassian Confluence generated tables
Works fine on Wiki
Really wanted to use this but it just does not work. I've tried installing from the web store in Chrome, Chromium. Also tried downloading the latest version from github and installing from there. But no joy I'm afraid :( I've restarted the browsers as per other's suggestions but that didn't sort it either. If I can help debug what the problem is do let me know and I'll give it another whirl.
It works for me and really useful. Loved it.
Does not work. Probably needs to be updated. Alt-click not working, right-click context menu not working. Reloaded the tab, didn't help. Restarted Chrome, didn't help.
1 star, it does not work.
Perfect job. Very useful tool. Naturally, required refresh of page for plugin to load.
Would be nice to have an option to trim empty lines though.
Not working with alt-click or by right clicking and selecting option.
Had to restart Chrome before it would work! Had to read Scot Linton's review to figure this out. So if it's not immediately working for you hopefully you see this review and save yourself a bit of frustration. Other than that it works decently well, except it removes even simple formatting like carriage returns.
Copies columns as intended.
The extension works well to copy columns, but it causes weird bugs on many different web pages. This can cause weird movements when clicking, or vertical lines to appear.
Nice.
Doesn't work.
Context menu works, but I couldn't get the keyboard shortcuts to work. (W7, stable 34.0.1847.116). Another problem is that MESSES UP font rendering on all pages (with tables?). I'm sure there is some technical reason for this but this is just unacceptable. (stable 34.0.1847.116, can't repro on canary 36.0.1937.0). Because of above issue I have to keep this normally disabled. Too bad because that's almost same as opening FF when I need this feature.
Did exactly what I needed it to.
Great idea, but still doesn't work on Ubuntu 13.10 (nothing gets copied, no matter if I use the context menu or ctrl-click).
I used it, it works, I'm happy.
iyi çalışıyor.. hem ubuntu hemde windowsta sorunsuz
doesn't work on linux.
Just installed and worked great. Right click on a column and you can copy all the rows. Thats all I need!
The only thing is it selects all rows. Is there a way to select subset. like if my table has 100 rows but I want to select only top 4.
Does exactly what I want, except strips all formatting and links. If it didn't, it'd be a solid 5 stars. Edit: removing another star because it constantly interferes with regular browsing clicking and ends up copying columns when I'm not pressing Alt-Click.
This does exactly what I need to do -- copy the description column of a Dell e-quote for pasting into estimates. It did not work as expected until I exited Chrome and restarted so beware.
Great extension. I do want the formatting to remain, especially if there were hyperlinks. Can you consider adding this as an enhancement?
Great extension!
Tried it, did not work at all! Maybe because I'm on Linux? Note that I had to change the default shortcut, as ALT+Click triggers the easy window-movement on most DEs/X. It would have also been nice to allow the META key to be used as a modifier. Still... unfortunately I did not get it to work :(
this is simple and awesome!!! Thanks
Very and simple tool. Worked for me with ctrl + alt + click though. Took me some time to find out :)
Great extension. One of the few things i miss from firefox is the ctrl click selecting of a table's column. Is there any way to change the key configuration? The Alt key and click in ubuntu is assigned to moving the current window (which i use a lot)
