pros: rich flexible configurations, can use regex matching. cons: not supporting navigator.userAgent and User-Agent Client Hints (sec-ch-ua headers) adjustment which "User Agent Switcher and Manager" can do. overall good extension.

Dont know how much to believe great reviews here but once you install this, you dont get preset user agents and those available like internet explorer (seriously?) arent working or simply not compatible by today standards. I tried adding edge user agent by searching through User Agent Search option but all are highly outdated. I doubt the interest of dev in making a true addon for users looking to spoof and hide real identity via browser using. Not recommended.

Soooooooo frustratingly close to great. However there seems to be a few flaws that keep this from being great. IE. It's confusing to know when filters have been applied or when you are manually applying a setting and what is being applied. Specifically here are some issues: A) The settings to indicate whether filters are enabled are at the bottom of your list in the button. B) The filter rules require you pasting in user agents, which is part of the issue related to "C". C) The User agent SELECTED MANUALLY is always the one displayed, so you can't tell when it is being over-ridden by a Filter rule, and since filter rules are completely separate you may not be able to match them to the user agents for display To improve this, it would be advantageous to: A: Move the "Use filters" checkbox to the top to know if it's in use. B: Change the Filters section to a drop-down selection of the tag names of the filters defined in the filter definitions above. C: Always have the Browser iCon display the actual user agent being used on a given page, at least at the highest level. When filters over-ride a site completely, grey out the choices for other user-agents and show which you have selected, and then, when "This tab only" is selected, create an option to over-ride filters manually by picking fome the list.

My favorite user agent switcher extension. Even works on a per-domain basis. If the developer is reading, it'd be amazing if you could add a custom referrer override for user patterns too (just an extra text field per pattern).

This is almost perfect. The extra options, especially the ability to add filters for certain sites, is exactly what I needed. However, it has a pretty fatal flaw - it doesn't offer any ability to change the Operating System being reported by navigator.appName in Javascript. So even when you spoof the UA, many services still reject traffic based on the OS reported by navigator.appName. One example, DirecTV Now. It works on Chrome on Linux, as long as you spoof the UA and OS. For this reason, the most popular UA Switcher allows DirecTV Now to work on Linux. This UA switcher continues to report Linux as the OS, and it's impossible to get DirecTV Now to work. Would really like to use filters rather than the sledge hammer approach of the other UA Switcher, which applies to all tabs of the entire browser as long as you use it, and requires manual intervention rather than automatic filter base switching.

Terrible. Used it for Youtube on Chrome and wanted to just have it for the single tab I had open. Worked to the point of changing it to mobile view but after that point could never get it back to regular www view!

This is the UA-switcher you've been looking for. Full-featured, it's way more than a dropdown list user-agents. UAS,US allows control on a detailed level to allow you to work with hsites which would otherwise reject "your" extension. There's enough detail wrapped om it that you might find yourseof learning a new tthing or two.

I'm not sure why this has such amazing ratings, but if I wanted to write my own header info, I would. The default choices are limited and it does NOT spoof your OS. Meaning for those of us, who use a User Agent extension, so we can download both the 32bit and 64bit versions of apps... not to mention, various OS versions, including legacies, are completely out of luck with this extension.

+ Import/Export is extremely convenient (just paste the new list of agents and you're done). + Possible to have per-site (per-pattern) settings is a must. + The configuration interface is very powerful. - The configuration interface is a bit clunky. Liked enough to bother to write the review.

Used to get that my samsung chromebook Chrome browser doesn't support certain pages when I was looking for free Universities over seas in Germany. I used to get errors for dumb stuff that wouldn't load...installed this and OVERALL my computer hasn't given me one issue...while im here I tried a NEW APP (totally different than this) called Wi-Fi fixer because my phone would disconnect and re connect (common in HTC and Samsung phones)...download that bad mamma jama and wi fi is straight at 75/75Mbps. Clocking in wired at 84, wifi at 65. No I didn't create it but I wanna learn how to .shoooooot

KICKASS! To see its power go to panopticlick test your setup. Then activate this puppy. Choose a different os from default. then go back to panopticlick and the difference is astounding. Please note I already run several extensions to thwart fingerprinting so for my score to go lower by half says a lot about this extensions ability to mask user agent. Now I need one for http accept headers. Anyone have a good extension. My chrome browser scores are lower than using tor browser. peace

Very handy, but the agent list is now ancient and missing the likes of iPhone5 and Galaxy S4/5. Would be great if it updated automatically from somewhere. Also, contact details would be nice, because reviews aren't a good channel for suggestions - they say after the suggestions are implemented.

After trying many "extreme" and "premium" user agent switchers, that the one that works for me. I can set up user agent for the buggy sites and forget about the extension. The options UI needs work. It's way too complicated and confusing. Also, it would be nice if the icon indicated whether a pattern is in use.

This is a superb extension EXCEPT that the settings do not sync. That's an absolute must. The entire point of Chrome is the synchronization of everything. Again, though -- a very good extension! Edit: PLEASE make this sync with the account, so that any machine will get the settings for a user. Depending on local machine continuity for cloud-oriented workflow is really retrograde. ;-)

A big win to be able to use Outlook Web Access with the full feature set from my Chromebook. Downside - options are very confusing. How do I find a way to have it affect 1 site (my company's outlook webmail site)? I have to turn it on and off every time. I'm sure there's a way but I can't figure it out.

This is the best of the ones that I have tried. The list of User Agent strings is pretty decent, but you can add them and you can specify certain UA's to be used on predefined URL's. For example, I can't use my Chromebook with Outlook Web Access unless I pretend to be Chrome on a Mac.

The conditional Agent rewriting is very handy. I'm running Firefox 9.0 if you ask my OWA server, but the rest of the web doesn't have a clue. Not a 5-star rating because the configuration is confusing.

In reply to this: This is fine if you want to use the presets, however you can't customize user-agents. It appears you can, but the changes aren't actually saved. Also, if you edit a preset, it doesn't actually "stick" either -- and you have no way of selecting it from the drop down anyway." It does save it, if you bother to hit save at the very bottom at the page. Are people that lazy, not looking?

This is fine if you want to use the presets, however you can't customize user-agents. It appears you can, but the changes aren't actually saved. Also, if you edit a preset, it doesn't actually "stick" either -- and you have no way of selecting it from the drop down anyway. This app also does annoying things like puts ads in the extension itself, and begs you to rate it 5 stars, which is an annoyance.
