After they let you pay for premium, you can't let your friends watch with you even if they say only the host has to have premium to have everyone use audio and mic. When I want to cancel, they removed the option to cancel your subscription avoid this they are greedy

Glitched and lagged the whole time. It will work better if you and your friends just watch on your own separate devices and just count down from 3 when to start it. Even the pause function didn't work. Again if you want to watch it, just sync up on your own devices and just communicate rather than installing this .

Works great...until now. I've been using this for 2-3 years but now I can't video call anymore while watching. It requires you to pay for the video call now. So it's basically like netflix party where you can just chat.

Used to work really well. Now the video syncing constantly breaks and glitches.

It used to be good. You used to be able to watch shows and movies almost flawlessly while talking to your friends about it using voice and video chat. Now it shows a black screen for viewers at times, syncing does not work, and now you have to pay a monthly subscription to use your microphone and video. I'm switching to watch party.

to be honest the app is super glitchy in terms of joining a lobby, videocalls, lagging, as well as logging in.

Spams you with advertising notifications with no option to disable. Very buggy and unreliable. Opens two separate windows for stream and chat with no option to combine them into one, or to disable opening chat window, or to set them to a different size or layout. They will always be reset to the same awkward size and position and have to be manually fixed. Teleparty is much better. If only either of them worked consistently so my friends and I didn't have to switch between every time we had an issue with the other. Honestly if we were stuck with just one, all of us would pick Teleparty hands down.

Breaks the second the event goes live. Absolute garbage

Useless and poorly built website. Continuously getting "Invalid Request" or "Error" messages when trying to login (yes my firewall was turned off and my cache cleared). There is no password reset option, no customer service chat or number to call. When you sign up, you only type your password and email 1 time so there is no verification that you did not have a typo in your login information. There is no confirmation email that you did sign up (not even in spam). Since there was no help signing in I attempted to create a new account and that failed too with no given reason. I guess Scener was not prepared for the mass of viewers ready to watch Stranger Things tonight.

Wasted an hour trying to get this to work. Would never even load a viewing screen. FAQ/help totally unhelpful. Useless and frustrating.

A piece of trash with terrible synchronization and limited streaming platforms and audacity to offer a paid option, metastream is way better

Honestly great and super user friendly! I recently got sick and this was amazing being able to watch shows with my friends.

Awesome app for viewing most streaming services. There is a camera and mic included, you see and hear the people in the party. However, you need an active account to use the app in the streaming service selected to watch. I didn't try the custom link yet. Lags sometimes, but didn't see any pause.

Too complicated. Camera setting: when I press skip, it freezes. Custom link field is just uneditable. :D Registration is also hard, because of sometimes disappearing input form. When I started type password, then just press right click to ask LastPass to generate pass, then form disappear, you have to start again. On the website I can't find the logout button, I had to clear cookies...

Works with HBO Max. Recomment that this be a little smoother, and less clutter. But it works so im happy.

Great extension, love the idea of video as well as being able to message but was having issues from time to time and really wish it was compatible with Stan. Hopefully that can happen in the near future as really want to watch the 'Scary Movie' Series with my friends.

Before the update, Scener was working fine with minor issues but now it works terribly. My friend's video always pauses and we can never sync up together. Please fix your issues other than changing the aesthetics of the application.

we used to love this extension but the recent update did not help matters. the video keeps stopping, my friend keeps disappearing, and we had to restart the movie over and over again.

I was unable to hear my friends and the actual movie didn't show up, maybe we did something wrong but I know we didn't. Lots of problems and we could not even unmute and and show our faces. This was a waste of time and I do not recommend as we wasted nearly 1hour and 30mins. This was a horrible experience never again.

The recent update has ruined the whole app it sucks now and needs to be changed back to the previous version. My girlfriend can't even connect her camera and microphone anymore, shame on the development team for ruining something that worked perfectly originally!!!! >:(

the syncing option simply just never works, no matter how many times we try the show/movie will not play or will simply not sync up even though we both pay for the streaming service account. a waste of time and extremely annoying

It works perfectly me (USA) and my friend who lives in the Philippines watch Netflix all the time on this and never had an issue.

so i liked it but i got 2 problems #1 cannot connect to any other streaming services exept for netflix #2 no public lobby feature so i can only connect to my family thats all.

I used to love Scener but now it doesn't work anymore. It says on the bottom I need to get a premium account in order for the syncing to work? Does that mean I have to pay now???

This is by far the worst and most buggy application I have ever used. It works maybe 2/10 times with Hulu, doesnt really work with showtime. This app is extremely frustrating I highly would not reccomend

The reason I gave a 1 star review is because unfortunately it is blocked for my school chromebook so I couldn't be able to use it, but its not you guy's fault! anyways bye

i just downloaded this and love it to pieces!!! (if you want to follow me i am @tvwithjae) this app is probably the best thing I've ever downloaded!! it connected to my Netflix right away with no hesitation i think i will use this very often i hope you do to!

Horrible, made both mine and my friend's computer slow. Completely froze up, lagged, and made my computer extremely hot. I wouldn't recommend.

It is unable to watch in sync. Not what I expected.

Not sure why this has 4 star average. The wording on their website implied only the host needs to be signed up with the streaming service. This is untrue. Everyone needs to be paying for and logged into whatever service you want to watch together. While it offers web cam chat that can easily be done via many other apps and online services. The only feature you get with Scener is a synchronized start button click for all people watching remotely. Kind of pointless, because there's virtually no benefit to anyone using it.

Extremely slow. It loaded for the other person after 90 seconds. That is too much lag which makes it very annoying and frustrating to use. Shifting to a different platform.

I just added this extension. I tried it with just myself and it's easy to work and it looks good! Next movie night we're using this! I'll edit my review.

You cant sync what you and your friend are watching for some reason i thought i t was going to be like netflix party but wit videos its ok i guess but try and fix that

I've used this a few times with some friends to watch Shudder and we haven't had any issues so far but I really wish there was a way to differentiate users in the chat. We're constantly mixing each other up because there's nothing but white text. Different colored usernames like on CyTube or little icons next to the names like on Netflix Party would be great.

Good extension. But. Disney + tries to load and then goes back to choose what streaming service to use. Only if I randomly click on one of the unloaded thumbnails for a program does it stay on disney +

I saw an ad for this on tiktok so i decided to get it things seemed cool and worked great up until i tried it with others the thing kept crashing for each of us and the video was not syncing so overall don't get it waste of time

Does not work on Linux. Keeps telling me I need Chrome when I am already using Chrome!

Its a good base for a stream party app. But its execution is poor. The remote passing feature is dismal. Syncing videos between multiple people is impossible. My friends were like 2 episodes in front of me, and neither of us knew.

Video skips a bit, due to synching I presume. I didn't have this problem with Netflix Party. Also, for some reason, the latest version of Scener requires sharing your e-mail address with them and creating an account. Why would a plugin suddenly demand this?

scener is an amazing extention but i just wanted to say if you maybe could make it an app cause my friends really want to join us but they do not have a laptop or they just cant download the extention :<

I couldn't watch disney plus with my friends because it kept changing from loading screen to loading screen. It would always be trying to sync.

Does not allow you to add prime video as a subscription service even though it claims to do so in the description. you can only watch netflix and disney hotstar. That's not fair!

I only wish I started using Scener sooner. Occasional connectivity problems but it works as intended and now offers a strong collection of streaming platforms.

absolute garbage. only reason its relevant is bc it doesn't have any competition but I cant wait until it does bc I want to see this get bodied off the face of the earth. this thing only works half the time, it makes the audio quality of whatever show way worse, and the viewing section randomly goes blank and doesnt allow you to open a theatre or see the person youre speaking to. Not to mention its incredibly buggy and constantly glitches out in a thousand weird ways. I never leave bad reviews but I tried multiple times to submit suggestions and every time I clicked submit it didn't do anything. If they arent gonna have something as simple as a feedback button work idc

Absolutely love this extension! Was waiting for them to add Hulu, and once I saw that they did I just had to come and write a review. Some syncing errors here and there, but nothing a quick refresh/restart hasn't solved. Definitely a much better experience than other watch party extensions.

Works really well! This was the first extension I could find that works with Disney+. And it's free! Can't beat that.

This chrome extension has truly made watching movies with my friends a whole lot easier. There really is no better extension that works as efficient and at such a good quality than scener. I recommend it to anyone who wants to watch movies with their friends in other states or can't watch movies with loved ones due to the covid situation. While using this extension you can clearly hear and see the other person very well. In my personal opinion it is better then Netflix Party as you are able to see and actually talk to the other person, making watching the movie a lot easier then just typing commentary. Scener not only provides a facetime like interaction, but includes a chat section as well. It really is the whole package.

Scener is such a great extension! My absolute favorite thing about it is that with headphones, you can watch the movie and talk to your friends without having to worry about feedback! The webcam and audio always work really great for me. I use it with my friends at least once a week and I love that it has more than just one streaming service.

I've used scener soo many times to watch movies and shows with my friends. I stumbled upon the app once while watching TikTok and immediately downloaded it. Every time I use it, it does an amazing job and never fails to impress me and my friends. This is the perfect app to download to reconnect with friends during the lockdown. I have used this multiple times with my friends. It is so user-friendly and supports multiple platforms which I love. The fact that I can be on video with my friends makes it easier to not be able to see them in quarantine. I have recommended it to so many people and I love it!

So helpful. Very few technical issues (most of the issues were actually just a lack of initial familiarity with the app, once you use it once it's very easy and the program is pretty intuitive). Highly recommend for those quaratining, this is a huge lifesaver. The creators also really care about their product and consumers. I only wish this worked for hulu, disney+, and amazon prime!

Scener is great! It helps my boyfriend and I watch movies and series together, even while we have to be apart for long distances. I didn't have any technical issues, and this is the extension for this purpose that I've tried so far!

Love this extension! I find it better than Netflix Party because of the videochat feature. There are a few bugs and syncing movies isn't totally seamless, but overall, I'd highly recommend using this and will definitely continue to do so during quarantine.

This plugin is great. It has let me stay connected with friends that I normally enjoy movies with while social distancing. The fact that we can video chat frictionlessly while watching Netflix is amazing!

It's unacceptable for a Chrome extension to require my phone number. Uninstalled as soon as it got to that. I don't trust that this company isn't going to sell that info to phone scammers (or get hacked and leak it.) Why not just ask for my email like 99% of other web services?

Really enjoy Scener! My family and I have used it for the last month and it's been great see and hear each other laugh all while watching a show together even though we live in different states. Have had some issues at times with echo but other than that we've really loved it!

Was excited to try this during quarantine and watch a movie & chat with a friend.... I've tried everything but cannot get the mic to work to talk. Which is what i really wanted....so this was disappointing to say the least

Scener works amazing! I think this is the best video calling/co-streaming platform. Netflix. While using Scener, a 40-1 hour show/ movie would eat up my laptop battery but that's okay. Told all my friends about Scener!

This has really been helpful with the shelter in place restrictions. I've had a couple of date nights with my girlfriend. It is nice to stay in sync and not need multiple apps to chat and watch together.

10/10 Thank you for creating this awesome application. I am letting others know about scener. It’s easy to sign up and use. Couple of things: 1. It took some time to figure out that people need to use headphones in order to avoid echo. It would be great if this is explained as a step during the sign up. If it’s already there, probably I missed it ? when we used second time we figured out that instructions are provided in the info button 2. It would be great if I can increase the size of the picture much more than what I can do now and also move them anywhere on the screen. These are couple of things I have in my mind. Thank you! Great extension for Chrome, super user friendly. Connects easily to Netflix and works pretty well. Occasionally there are some buffering/syncing issues for the person without the remote, but I'm not sure how much this is due to the strength of my internet connection. Would definitely recommend this!
