Way too old. Needs updated strings. Too many broken sites.
Lacking basic features, like permanent spoof list or Js spoofing
Awesome and useful! I use a Chromium browser, but it has issues because it's not Chrome.
most lightweight and simple UA switcher for Chrome-based browser. I use this on Kiwi browser
not great. doesn't work as should. often have to press refresh between page transitions to active it instead of always being on. often loses custom agent between sessions requiring to you put the user agent string in everytime you clear your caches or restart the computer. requires alot of interactions to maintain. prepare to press refresh a lot, and constantly re-insert your custom user agent if you install this.
Does absolutely nothing Whether you used the built in or the custom strings they provide a link to - worthless
Works like a charm!
didnt work for me i use ubuntu and firefox
www.toolshack.com does not or no longer exist. Hmmm
Doesn't work! Now I'm worried about what data it might have stolen from me! :-( Easier/better: just use Google Chrome's "Device Mode". Press F12 and look for the icon in the upper left of the dev toolbar.
javascript keeping the original data of your OS, and can't you to hide the real information. useless to try.
I wish it was possible to make it keep the user agent on startup.
It doesn't do what I need it to do.
Does NOT work anymore
nope, did not work on the one site I needed it on.
JUNK
Love the custom string user agent feature.
It works but is not very easy to use, does not always announce it is a certain agent, therefore the webpage being tested does not always switch to Mobile as is should with the agent switched.
good
doesn't work
Didn't do anything.
Awesome, works!
Worked for using googlebot to get into a hackers forum without signup.
doesn't work for me
c
Works as advertised
One of the very few with all the search engine bots
Doesn't work.
im not even a developer but i needed to use a mobile emulator to access a device only site. installed and it does exactly what i want it to. simple and practical. thanks!
Limited device/browser list. I would keep looking unless they extend the list.
USEFUL FOR CUSTOM USER-AGENT!
unpredictable and so nice
Doesn't remember user-agent after Chromium restart.
Works well but I wish there was a way to permanently use a particular agent. It gets changed back to default every time I exit the browser.
does what it says on the tin
Nothing worked at all
Works just as advertised. The UI and design isn't pretty, but it functions just fine.
Works well
didn't work can't watch the apple event
this absolutely worked for what I wanted - got around Outlook webclient restrictions about using the full version in a different browser than IE - I selected IE9 and it worked great! Thanks!
does not work
didn't work for me. I clicked every emulation link possible, even browsers I have and none changed the display... too bad
Works on my CHROMEBOOK C720. Of the three options available in the Chrome Web Store, this is the ONLY one that lets me use my work's Outlook Web App in full-fledged glory instead of light mode. To make it perfect, it needs (like many others have stated): - Per tab effects, instead of browser-wide. - Needs a domain-list that we can add sites for auto-applying certain agents upon browsing there.
The settings are lost when the browser is restarted. Definitely not "set up and forget".
Turned on properly, but now I can't get it to switch back to Chrome from iPhone.
Pre-installed user agents can't be changed.
it works
Love simple ideas such as this one. I am still finding new ways how to use this powerful switch
Worked great for me!
Doesn't seem to work for me,, i have picked most of the user agents that come as the defualt, the look of my page does not change, when I know for a fact the should,, Uninstalling
Many sites collect the browser details in other ways. A variety of JavaScript and HTML header requests exist that display the application name that gets run. It's been awhile since I looked into this personally, but I want to know if the source code exists, if a database exists of the multiple ways (*.csv) to pull the browser information from the browser, and so on. I thought I looked at the source code for this in the past, so forgive me. I am now interested in this. Thanks for your help!
Worked fine until it suddenly stopped working at all, over a month ago. Since it no longer does the ONE thing it's supposed to, I'm uninstalling.
WAS working fine on iPhone 5s - IOS7 until today.. Just randomly stopped working :(
Just works. Nothing more, nothing less. Exactly how it should be.
Just perfect :)
Does what it claims!! Hooray
Installed, does nothing wont let me go to mobile sites when android is selected. Installed user agent switcher for chrome from another developer worked first time
LOVE it for getting past tethering restrictions. T-Mobile TELLS me I can have unlimited data and then wants to charge me for HOW I receive that data. They can suck it if they think I'm going to pay for my data twice.
I'm using this to get past Tethering restrictions with my ISP (T-Mobile) and it's working flawlessly on Reddit, Youtube, Soundcloud, and Facebook, I'm not using this to test my mobile website so I can't vogue for this extension for web developers, also I'm using the iPad user agent that's the best for bypassing tethering restrictions in my opinion.
I use Outlook Web Access on a Chromebook and thanks to UAS, I am no longer forced to use the "lite version" of OWA.
great app
Worked great
Works perfectly.
IT'S VERY GOOD APP
A nice basic user-agent switcher. The interface is clumsy and not intuitive but gets the job done.
Worked to allow me access to webpages that only stopped me because I wasn't on windows. So I gotta love this extension. And, hate those websites even more.
Great for tumblr (IE 9) but now it doesn't work at all. Is this UAS going to be updated to keep up w/ tumblr?
3ds mannn
It worked well for about a month, but for the past week it hasn't worked at all no matter what browser I choose.
The only thing I wish was that there was a way to make your choice extend over to the next time you start chrome. Thank you for a great application. Cheers!
Perfect for Tumblr and their updates. IE 9 is probably the latest thing you should click on for it be the old way. Makes missing e work once more too.
Awesome!! Very useful
works great, especially for tumblr.
more agent strings would be great...
Doesn't work for me. Chrome v.26.0
oh!! i'm luving it <3
works perfectly
Works, but not particularly usable. - The user agent selection seems to be browser-wide, instead of affecting a single tab. - There is no obvious way to tell what the current UA string is. - Cannot be configured per-site.
Works well for me especially as I can't afford an iPad! Switching it off is a little odd. I tend to enable it when I need it to test a page and then disable it.
It worked for a little while kind of. One particular page I couldn't get it stop working. Now it wont work at all.
I'm on Ubuntu using Chromium. Our companies outlook web access page doesn't recognize the Chromium user agent and as such won't render the "premium" page. Used this to set my agent to mimic the Windows Chrome agent and all is well. Thanks!
Allows me to access MP4's versions of videos that various sites would show a flash version of using a normally announced browser.
I use this extension for tumblr. For the first week it worked perfectly fine but now when I reblog from someones blog there is a blue page over the old reblog system. I know some other people that have the same problem and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it????
I really love the extension. May I suggest allowing us to make it work for one specific website? Like allow us the option to use a certain type of browser for one particular website and run regular Chrome on everything else. Aside from that, I love it.
It definitely helped fthe tumblr update. if you dont like it, you should definitely get this extension. it's perfect
it fixed my problem with tumblr
it does its job very well. thank you.
MY OLD TUMBLR IS BACK<3 THANK YOU
A very simple add-on that does its job very well! Like Gabby, I got this just to revert Tumblr's most recent changes. And sure enough, setting it to Internet Explorer 9 mode did the trick! Very nice! Thank you, user!
Works perfectly!
it works, I only wish you could save custom strings. I'd like to not have to copy/paste my personal string every time seeing as it's not on the list provided.
awesome and very useful
Works so far.
This User Agent Switcher is the best. Thanks a lot. :)
easy and useful, i love it
Been messing around with tethering on my phone and this made it possible once again =] thanks!
fantastic now i can go to any website with my phone's wifi tethering app :D
They are doing a perfect job at it. The input for custom strings is great and the list to choose from is very easy to grasp.
Only UA switcher I found with direct googlebot integration!
Simply the best, I am using it for IE6 stupid geneva website :)
