I use this on Edge because I dislike the results Bing brings up to my searches, and I want to experiment using the search bar more often. So far it worked flawlessly!

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Uninstalled Edge using iObit and everything and MS start menu still won't open chrome when I search.

I have had the extension installed in windows 11 and unfortunately it is not working. For example I just opened the backup and restore option from settings and it opened a bing and edge window. So it's not working as advertised. There is a caveat though I am not using windows 10. Could be that is the issue. Will be investigating further. and update as I find out what is going on.

02/2019: This extension works exactly as I had hoped, and then some! Way better than the other extensions I had tried. Great job! 12/2022: The dev (Marc Guiselin) has been able to maintain and adapt to Microsoft every step of the way, always offering a fix to keep Chrometana Pro up-to-date and working since day one. One of the newest additions, Wedge (https://github.com/MarcGuiselin/wedge/releases), which replaces Edge Deflector, has allowed the extension to work more smoothly and seamlessly than ever before and is even better. If I could rate ten stars, I would. Thanks for all you do, Marc Guiselin!

Unfortunately having a few issues running this extension in Microsoft Edge. When I try to do a search from the search bar, I will get a message that says "lllggmgeiphnciplalhefnbpddbadfdi is blocked This page has been blocked by Microsoft Edge ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT" However, if I use the address bar, the search works fine. Not sure if this is an issue with the extension or Edge, but it certainly is annoying.

So glad this works again. Hopefully Microsoft stops with this nonsense of forcing people to try and use their stuff.

it used to work but now it works but it takes a while to even search like a solid 30 to 40 sec i have a good pc 16 gb ram a good cpu and everything plz update this to work better thkns

This doesn't work anymore due to the other application needed for this to work being blocked from use by microsoft. I've got no idea if these other reviews are real as it hasn't worked since 2021 ish

It is working great for me! Every time I would search something from the Task Manager it would search it through Bing. Tried several things before and nothing worked. Chrometana works perfect for me!!

Doesn't work for me either. Microsoft is too much in your face. I have expect to see Microsoft staff members goose-stepping as they arrive for work.

I once LOVED Chrometana and Edgedeflector, but it's (in Edgedeflector's developer's OWN WORDS "Discontinued because Microsoft sabotaged the project." for Edgedeflector; and the workaround he suggested cannot be performed because Microsoft completely crucified this app. So, this is for @Istiyaque Ahmed Ridoy : Chrometana is dead because Edgedeflector is dead. In short; for some of us out there (I'm in Canada), Microsoft is now forcing that garbage Bing search engine, and that equally heinous Edge browser down our throats if we want to continue using their OS. The end! Well, I did find a way at least to stop Bing from dictating terms with another app, one that actually works. Unfortunately; Chrometana does not work with it whatsoever, as the developers don't seem able or even aware that there is another app that is working in Edgedeflector's place. You might want to update your information there, buddy. So from once being five stars in my eyes...based on tonight's waste of my time, Chrometana/Foxtana are now one star failures, I'm very sad to report.

Doesn't work for me. When I try to search something into the search bar next to the windows key it ends up directing me to Bing. If anyone knows how to fix it that would be great. :D

I don't know why it says it needs Edge Deflector to function properly. I use it with Edge (as it is the same as chrome, only better) and it works a treat. Finally the search function in windows makes sense.

Doesn't seem to work. Asked me to download edgedeflector. I did, and all it does is open edge explorer without asking me "How do you want to open this?".

I am no longer subjected to using Bing every time I search for something. Was ultra easy to install and works perfectly.

4 stars just because there are some searches sometimes that it doesn't convert from bing searches I have to mention that I use the extension on Microsoft Edge just because I like the app, but I wanted to be able to use Windows 11 search without the bing search engine I don't use Edge Deflector or other apps because I like the Microsoft Edge app

Doesn't work in Windows 11. Installed EdgeDeflector and never got prompt to chose it - just opens Bing. Default Apps > Web Browser doesn't exist. Went to GitHub and installed latest which opened instructions in Bing but said to "Choose default apps by protocol" which doesn't exit either - can only choose by type and links. Everything I can change I have and the 2 or 3 remaining only allow you to choose from Microsoft Store. Instructions again mentioned Default Apps > Web Browser, which doesn't exist. Giving up and uninstalling. Don't know how others get it working - maybe on Windows 10? Seems it can't be installed on Windows 11 (or at least my version of it).

Works, but it doesn't. While using Cortana to search something online, the extensions works fine, and redirects the search to Chrome. But it does not work on searches from the "Search Bar" (to the left of the Windows Icon on the right side of the screen). For any search on the "Search Bar", it stills opens Edge and does the search there, using Bing ofcourse.

I really appreciate the fact that edge and google are not conflicting with one another. I love the straight forward approach, not having to struggle with figuring out what browser I am using.

This performs EXCELLENTLY. Even when scanned with Malwarebytes it doesn't consider it as a virus.

This is fantastic! Setup is easy and works on Windows 11 too. Thanks! Update 11/24/2021: A new cumulative update for Windows 11 broke the functionality of EdgeDeflector. Windows search (Cortana) enforces Edge again. Bad move from Microsoft. This doesn't affect Windows 10 as far as I know.

Works very well! I use Cortana a lot and it redirects me to Bing, but then I found this and I can use it properly. Also, its not malware. I downloaded it, and nothing has happened to my computer. 0. Nada.

great app, the download it suggests to download in order for the app to work isn't any kind of malware or spyware distributed, it bypasses microsoft's bs so you can use chrome instead of bing for cortana searches!

simple easy fix

Windows search anywhere has always been held back by Bing mostly, Edge also, to a lesser extent now that it is chromium based, but still, being able to hit start and search for anything and have it Open Chrome, and most importantly, use Google search instead of Bing. If you have winget , you can even get EdgeDeflector from using winget. Even in File Explorer, I can hit CTL + L and do an internet search. This already works, but it uses Bing and Edge without this extension and the small exe you have to add

Works in Opera GX as long as you give it permission to see search results. Was quite confusing to figure why it didn't work right after installing it though.

Marvel of Modern Times! Back in 1991 I came to be. This was practically eons ago, especially to you young kids. None of this cyber phases these young people but I am just blown away by it. I still don't understand 7/8 of it but I do know how to type a review and even though I am not 100% that I set this extender right, I still can hold my middle home button on my smartphone and just like a magician doing actual real magic card tricks, the button made google SPEAK! So I am pretty sure this extender did make the google's voice response time a little. I never bought any Cortinandos or whatever and I don't use Windows much but I am just happy it made the phone better and XXX load faster.

Works perfeclty just be sure to follow the instructions. I forogt to enable a default protocall which casued my search bar to continue using bing. It was a very easy fix. Thank you devs for providing a great free tool. Should also be mentioned, as is when I downloaded it, that they were recentley hacked which accidentley uploaded malware to ppls computers. So maybe do a scan and stay updated. Said they were working with google on it just think ppl should know in advnc.

It works good, but the search in sidebar option somewhat breaks it's usefulness. If you search in sidebar, it opens google search, but there is no way to close the search, and it's format is bad for the sidebar. Honestly, I think the search in sidebar should still go to Bing since it is formatted correctly. The original Chrometana works well for this scenario.

it works. me likey very much. make sure you follow all the instructions provided to make it works actually. some of you guys are too stupid to do that and give negative reviews, but i trust you (yes, you in particular) are not like that.

Just installed this software and my initial reaction is very positive. Looking forward to being able to control how I search with my computer from Cortana. If it continues to perform as I think it will, I will continue to recommend this software. Greatly apprecitated

App is still not redirecting properly when Chrome is not started first. Says this was fixed in 1.6 "Fixed extension not redirecting from bing when chrome hasn't yet been opened", but it is not.

Works Perfectly! Effortless to set up, if I had to come up with a complaint it would be that I wished the default link for the edge detector download was to the github for the project instead of there being a direct link to the exe with the github source below in small text. Reverse the links/text if I had to make a suggestion, but really its just one of the best chrome extensions. Definitely a necessity for Windows 10 users (If you're using chrome, you're not going to be using Bing as your default search engine anyway)- and it actually makes the search in the toolbar useful!

I had to give it a 1 star because I never got a chance to use it! The stupid Cortana keeps on popping up at the most inopportune times. Every time I'm in the middle of something Cortana's little box is there right in my field of vision screwing me up! I take down soon. Does anybody have a fix for this I'll give this 5 Stars.
