Have been using this for some time now but looks like some chrome updates messed some things up. Below may work for you: 1. Copy & Paste into address bar "chrome://flags/#use-angle" 2. Under "Choose Angle Graphics Backend" select OpenGL
No longer appears to work with Netflix. Stopped working about a week ago.
Worked for a while then it just stopped cropping it and only stretched it instead
Was working great but now it is changing the aspect ratio when I try to crop a youtube video...
I thought i was finished when opened youtube on my brand new ultrawide monitor and it wasnt filling the whole screen. This saved me.
try force crop and force aspect worked for me i can now watch my tv shows in widescreen
Image goes to bottom corner of screen
Phenomenal idea, can't even enable the extension
unable to enable
Toggle shortcut doesn't work
Didn't work on youtube and doesn't work for netflix the image goes down to the bottom right corner. Plus the icon in the top right of my browser disappears and i can only goto it on this page. and it always says disabled when i click on it
it worth it 100000000000000000 i fkn loveeeeeeeeeeed
Really works for some online videos that doesn't support full screen. However the shortcut is conflict with Disney+ subtitle switch. It will be nice if we can customize the shortcut. Secondly, if I set the fullscreen mode with mouse in Disney+, the subtitle won't show up.
Crops 21:9 videos off on the left and right edges when in Aspect Ratio Mode. Absolutely ZERO reason to over-stretch the video and crop it.
This used to work great for me on my ultra-wide. Now it just dumps the image off the lower right corner. Ver 1.7.5
Doesnt work. half of image off screen
not good for netflix on mac otherwise fine
Some Netflix shows aren't compatible with Fullscreen on Ultrawide Monitors so I tried this one. Unfortunately it makes it worse. It's supposed to be fixed with the "Aspect Ratio" option but instead, it makes the show even smaller. I gave it another chance maybe it's just a bug, but I tried all the options in the selection and all of them makes the show smaller or much worse. TLDR: IF YOU INTEND TO USE FOR NETFLIX, TRY A DIFFERENT APP SINCE THIS ONE IS BAD.
LOL.. So it was the Expanse messing around with me and NOT this extension. Someone thought it would be fun to change aspect ratios depending on where they were shooting. Love the outside the box thinking but NO. BAD editors BAD. It's like changing how your accelerator pedal works on the street and freeway. Left my review of shame below.... Doesn't really do 21.9 Crop/aspect/forced just gives you slightly different versions of squashed or horizontally stretched faces or does a zoom cut around the edges on Amazon Prime.
Love this extension, thank you. Be sure to click the icon right after you add it, when it pops up to tell you about itself, otherwise the extension is disabled to begin with. Select an option and viola. Great job!
Didn't work for me at all
Bugs on netflix. It doesn't work.
Doesn't work at all for me, either I get the black borders on all videos, stretched or zoomed, all bad choices.
The extension now zooms far too much - the first Ctrl-Alt-C stretches the image sideways and crops a huge amount off both sides and then the second stretches vertically and crops a huge amount off the top and bottom - sure the resulting image fills my 21:9 screen - but 50% of the image is now missing off the edges! Can we please go back to the original version (prior to August) that actually worked.
Worked great till Aug. 8, 2021 update. Killed the app's usability. If the update gets rolled back or fixed, would go to 5 stars for review.
Best extension for ultrawide 21:9 monitor users !
ctrl alt c doesnt work for me
It worked as it should, but after the recent update ctrl+alt+c doesn't seem to be working anymore on youtube.
Stretch to fill works, but zoom to fill doesn't
It works, but the hotkey won't work on macOS, cmd+alt+c opens the dev tools and ctrl+alt+c is for zooming on my system. would love if this could be configured.
This seems to be the only extension I can get working with Plex using the force crop mode with my ultrawide monitor. So in that regard, it works for me. I kind of wish it would keep the setting between videos, etc for Plex but this might be more an issue with Plex. Currently, I am forced to minimize and then maximize again to get it to fill my screen for the next video. Considering how old this extension is I'm surprised I can't get any of the other extensions to work for Plex.
Tested today and works fine for disney plus Thank you so much now content fits my 21:9 screen properly!
Works; but not a simple as UltraWideo extension.
can you add support for 16:10 displays
Works like charm!
I now have a long awaited s.olution to my problem, not perfect, but a solution at best.
Works really well. Love it!
Does exactly what I was after perfectly but required manual switching on and off which is a pain... I'm sure the aspect can be detected and only applied to relevant ones... Next version? 4.5
Works well with Netflix, though the picture degrades slightly, but it won't work with HBO Now. It offsets the video to the right.
Doesn't work at all on Vudu. HBOGO zooms incorrectly (image is zoomed in but off center). It works correctly on YouTube.
I was really hoping I would be able to finally watch videos in full screen but this extension doesnt work whatsoever, maybe Im not doing something right but so far it doesnt work.
Doesn't work for me the crop does but nothing else
its definitely better than not having any tool. but please add 1 more feature to make it perfect!!! right now, you can either crop or stretch. can you add a feature so the user can do both. maybe instead of bullet selection options, make it a slider. for instance, there are some videos, where if i just cropped it 10% then i can stretch is less and it would fill the screen. basically, let me crop up to where its still comfortable, then stretch the rest of the way (either to the edges, or maybe i only want to stretch a little more and still have very slim black bars).
Great extension! works for most video services, although would be a plus if it worked for hulu, and vudu
Doesn't work at all for Netflix: I tried making any of the selections and it doesn't make a difference.
It doesn't do what I need it to do and simply apply a crop factor that removes encoded black bars. Instead all it does is stretch out to meet the sides which cuts off the top and bottom. So if the aspect ratio of the video doesn't exactly match the video it will cut off parts of the picture. For my super ultrawide it means it is never usable.
Deezed
Need Hulu Support. Have a Ultra-wide 2560X1080 and the movies all have black bars top, bottom, and all sides. PLEASE make this work... Starting to hate Hulu because of this. Apart from this, it works great.
Needed for Youtube. Works for Youtube. No issues here - thanks!
doesn't work in linux chrome :(
This used to work perfectly. Now Ctrl+Alt+C does nothing.. Is mine broken somehow?
Works great on netflix with a really wide screen. Just be sure to reload th tab. and some options only really work in fullscreen.
really nice to use especially with 21:9 content that got forced to 16:9 for whatever reason. however theres a bit of an oversight as when using ctrl + alt + c to change modes itll toggle captions instead if the video has them. so maybe the option to change it should be looked at
Works great on prime videos!!! It got rid of all the black bars on some of the prime video. Keep up the good work!
Doesn't work on my 21:9 monitor and doesn't work on google movies.
Works for wide-screen Amazon prime videos that have the top and bottom bars built in to support 16x9 monitors. Now I get FULL SCREEN on my ultra-wide monitor! (I do think it crops just a bit too much of the top/bottom bars, not sure, but that's better than any other option I've found yet.)
I use the massive Samsung CHG90 that big 50" curved monitor. I have tried others and they still only fill in a portion of my super ultra wide aspect ratio. Only this one fills videos to my screen. I do think super ultra wide will be standard in the coming years until then this extension is a life saver.
Doesn't work for Vudu unfortunately.
This is a very good extension. I have used it since it's early days, without any issues. The extension does what it says and it does it very well, however, I do have a feature request. It would be nice to half at least one "halfway" compromise between normal 16:9 and zoomed 21:9. An 18:9 zoom, for example, wouldn't fill a 21:9 display, but it also wouldn't cut off too much of the upper and lower content of the original 16:9 source.
Doesn't work on most YouTube videos. Cuts off most of the bottom of the screen or stretches it.
sometimes the shortcut (ctrl + alt +c) doesn't work
This works great for Youtube, but why does it require access to my browsing history? That seems suspicious.
This extension works mostly everywhere( Netflix, Youtube, Hulu), but it does nothing when using it on the HBO website and that has been the biggest disappoint.
Doesn't work.
Doesn't Work. Don't download, a waste of time.
works fantastic on youtube Google need to work on their player for ultrawide options
BEST
Can you please make it so that the shortcuts work for mac too!!!
Works like a charm!
Works perfectly on youtube
This is the only extension i can find that allows for ultra-wide monitors to work on you-tube automatically without setting it every-time the page loads.
Amazing but would love a slider to adjust the height of the crop
When it works, it works fine. However, when pressing Ctrl-Alt C and there is subtitles with a YT video, it enables/disables the subtitles.
This unfortunately does not work properly on my 21:9 screen. 16:9 is either stretched too wide with no crop but letterboxing or the the aspect can be preserved but the video is zoomed in with no black bars but the image is cropped top and bottom.
i like it!
I got it to work again. I changed my resolution in windows settings to a standard 1920x1080 and then back to my ultrawide 2560x1080 and it is now working like it used to. Hope maybe this will help other get it to work again.
It not longer works
This extension no longer works for any video site. It is now described as "This feature is designed for watching 4:3 movies on 16:9 displays." It USED to work by making pre-cropped 21:9 videos actually full screen on a 21:9 monitor. but no when it is used, it crops way to much and blocks off a good chunk of video real estate on all sides, but mostly the top and the bottom are noticeable. I hope they fix this or turn it back to making it 16:9 ->21:9, because who even used 4:3 these days??? Please fix...
Great, can't believe it's taken me so long to stumble across this extension
Work Great with my tv steaming. Chang it full screen aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. and then cast them to tv by chromcast. Great Extension.
Great add-on. I'd like to see it work on Vudu though.
Won't work with Plex.
Can you fix the short cut to toggle between modes? Doesn't work
Exactly what I've been looking for to use with my ultra wide 21:9 panel.
A must-have for any ultra wide owner, awesome!!
perfect
Love this for youtube, very helpful in removing bars and getting the best from my ultra wide monitor.
It doesnt work on netflix! If i dont have cc on it would zoom teh photo in even more. FIX IT PLEASE
Especially the bad crop of youtube videos that happens, this is must.
YouTube video freezes and either loading circle appeared or it reverts back to original ratio. have to either back the video up by a second to get it to resume, or pause, exit full screen then go back to full screen and play. or disable extension
Works great!
Doesn't seem to work on all sites which is unfortunate. Still great for most things though 4/5
Works like a charm, but it could be a touch better if it could either crop based on the height of the video or have multiple crop options for videos that fall between 16:9 and 21:9.
Shortcut for toggling modes no longer works unless you have NUMPAD enabled (which is ridiculous) Otherwise you just end up toggling captions on Youtube
Perfect for my ultrawide monitor. Thank you!
I cant get it to work with HBO GO and it sometimes crops the top and the bottom on netflix
finally i can watch vidoes fullscreen on my ultra wide monitor thanks!!!!
maybe it only works on youtube...idk it didnt work for the one i wanted it for.
works great (on youtube when the video has black bars all around).. But some videos that supports the full 21:9 ratio on fullscreen still get cropped , which means the video get zoomed in. Can't you write a condition that detects when the video doesn't need cropping or not? Thanks.
Works great!!! Should have another mode for 18:9 aspect ratio shows!
Best ultrawide extension on the internet
Should have Support for Flash video and Other native players.
I have no idea how it works, but it does a perfect job for netflix. Thanks!
This is great! Please find a way to make it work with Vimeo and Amazon video! UPDATE: It seems not work properly on Vimeo anymore. It zooms in to fill the height, but the width is cropped at 16:9 instead of extending to 21:9
Awesome, makes videos look perfect on my 21:9 ultrawide screen
