Phenomenal extension that will change the way we research One question, is there a way to turn it off such that it can also create without requiring a website as source?

Not bad so far, I just wish we could copy the default to edit it so that GPT takes into account the context of the conversation when you search later on in the conversation.

This extension is beyond phenomenal - it turns ChatGPT into a true Google competitor given its ability to summarize results contextually in a sentence or two for each response, put together nicely in natural output. It is almost like a roundup discussion of which search response to read first. Can I suggest you allow users to tweak the query you give to the search engine that generates the initial query response? Any chance you could create a version that gives more than 10 responses to a search, perhaps by combining multiple searches? That might be a good Pro/Paid option. In any event this is truly a stunning extension. Excellent work.

Overall, the experience is great, but there should be a toggle to minimize the web searches as they litter the chat screen with big chunks of repetitive text. I don't know if this is doable or not through external tools, but it would be really great for streamlined and centralized searches. Still a great extension, can't wait to see future updates.

I've loved it the past week while it has worked but for some reason it isn't working anymore. My toggle is still on but I'm not getting references or results anymore from the extension.

First off, this extension is a start to something that could completely change the use of ChatGPT. Thank you so much for putting the effort in to create this. Questions: - What is ChatGPT's word count? - If possible, could you look into adding some that could open the first result or two?

It's good but on my chrome I can't switch off web search. Please fix bug.

@Anzor Qunash this is fantastic. Thank you for creating it. Question: Does this feed ChatGPT only the snippets of results from web searches, or does ChatGPT ingest the full content on the webpages that are found?

The responses it generates are awesome, and definitely a step up from base ChatGPT However, the toggle switch for 'search on the web' as shown in the screenshots is missing for me, which effectively breaks ChatGPT's ability to continue threads as google results will be off topic unless the original prompt is always specified

The responses provided are a lot better than the stock standard GPTChat. I mean, i have been able to write more critical comments that standard GPT would not. There is more up to date information - regardless of comments, the information is further up to date eg. FIFA 2022 world cup.

asked it to search the scores of some football games from today and it worked once and that was it. kept getting the response that it cant connect to the internet etc etc , i clicked the search the web option off then back on and retried and nothing. :(

Follow up refining questions in the ChapGPT interface no longer work. If I ask for more detail in a response to a specific question I now get thesaurus definition to the words "more detail" and thesaurus links from Google. This limits the existing functionality of ChapGPT

It works!

I love it! One suggestion I have is to add a textual trigger, like "/web," to activate it. The responses tend to be more targeted when it's enabled, so it might not be suitable for all types of inquiries.

All of the sudden it started working. So far so good. I will keep testing it and comment again.

Not appearing on website

Does this actually work for anyone? I just keep getting the same error message that I got about getting onto the internet as before. Is there a certain way I have to ask the question or does this just not work?

I really loved it but it disappeared now on the chatGPT site. Did Google block it? (it is installed as chrome extension but doesn't appear anymore on the website since last night).

This works good. although I would like to suggest an option to scrape pages, example searching api documentation.

I didn't try it because the settings mess up my chatgpt interface, the settings should by in the extension not in the ChatGPT UI

Love the idea, but couldn't get it to work. I asked "What's the win-loss record for NFL home games this year?" and it said it doesn't have knowledge past 2021. I'm using Chrome Version 104.0.5112.81.

Possible this is not working on Chrome Version 108.0.5359.124 (Official Build) (x86_64)? cannot see the any changes to the ChatGPT interface when having this active...

Hey! There are bugs, UI related: 1. First of all, your options, and advanced settings should be in the extension options settings, not in the ChatGPT site embedded. It screws the original display. 2. Option Dark/Light mode not working properly. In light mode the settings side panel's background still dark in light mode and text color changed black which is awful. 3. When you click a previous conversation (below "New chat"), your extension vanishes. Original ChatGPT site UI returns without your left panel addition, and not seems to work anymore. You have to clear all conversation and reload the page to load your extension properly again.

did not work much, network errors all the time, search data messed up with the ask.

Because ChatGPT is trained with information up to 2021, this extension is useful in updating ChatGPT information.
