I actually like having my new tabs to open to the current temperature and weather mini-summary. However, the extension no longer remembers my location and I frequently have to tell it again where I am located. I give up as of today. I'll open the Windows 10 Weather app and get a lot more information. So long!

Very poor and ugly; nothing to compare with the uber better Firefox version!

What the hell happened to this once awesome app? It will not give options any more but before that it would not let me add my location. I can not use it at all. It really really really really really really really really really infinity SUCKS. Good job people.

This is a poor substitute for the original, which seems to be MIA in the extensions search. But it still exists: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/forecastfox/ihffmkcfkejomlfnilnmkokcpgclhfeg It's by the same developer but is far better.

I have an earlier version of the extension installed on one system -- it works just like forecastfox on Firefox. This newer version for Chrome is totally NOT what I was looking for. Not useful to me in its current form. Will remove it.

As of late this extension has become a "brick" Shows 0 degrees, geo location is correct, time is wrong ( UTC time, not local time) and the links no longer work. What happened?

This was good up until about two weeks ago, when it suddenly stopped working.

Only added this (again) so that I could review it and tell you where you can still download the ORIGINAL FORECASTFOX! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/forecastfox/ihffmkcfkejomlfnilnmkokcpgclhfeg Spread the word that the original, and still the best, is out there.

The original Forecastfox extension was great, providing current temp and weather in the toolbar. This new "Lite" version is much less useful. Definitely removing it, hoping the original version will be brought back.

Old extension was much better. This one is garbage, completely useless compared to the old one. Was nice to just hover over the app and see a small expanded window show the weather details. This app does not

Forecast Fox used to be a great weather extension. Now, it is useless. I'm forced to rely on Wunderground's "Full Screen Weather" app, which does not have a browser extension. I tried "NOAA NWS Weather Forecast" and "YoWindow", but didn't like them. The Lutheran in me is saying, "I liked the old Forecastfox. There was nothing wrong with it. Why change it?"

Teddy April 29th, 2015

Just about completely worthless. Where's the radar? 7-day forecast (clicking in bottom right doesn't work.)? Poof.

A Google User April 27th, 2015

What the hell are the Forecast Fox people thinking with this horrible, useless, stupid extension? I went to install it in Chrome on my work computer and it's staying on here only long enough for me to leave this review. It's useless, has NONE of the features I've come to expect from Forecast Fox, and will be removed once more as soon as this review is published.

Where did my favorite weather app go???? I loved my forecast fox that had multiple locations to tab through. :( This is terrible. Please bring back the old one

Ryan Poorman February 24th, 2015

This is garbage, like virtually everyone who's bothered to comment has suggested. Forecastfox was my all-time favorite Chrome extension. I've been using it to quickly glance at the weather and to pull up the Accuweather radar for years. It stopped updating, so I uninstalled then reinstalled. Now I'm left shaking my head. What is this Lite crap? As if I really want to look at a different tab to check out the weather. Come on, Rookies.

Patrick Sheehan March 18th, 2015

"lite"? Yeah it is so lite it is useless now. I can get more and better info going to a website. I wanted something for my toolbar.

The new lite version is nearly useless. Missing toolbar icon, bad location guesses. Not sure what did the developers think, but boy, that's a major screwup.

I prefer foxfire browser, much more intuitive and "luddite" friendly. I found forecastfox on the "competing" browser extensions and loved it as it took up no space and was always there giving me the info I wanted! This is the extension of choice for a quick view of what's going on outside - and with a minute of resetting preferences - what's going on Almost Anywhere!! But now it IS the page rather than a small panel above or below the page. Funny how Lite screws up your browsing when forecast fox - when compatible with firefox - sat silently on a bar so that it didn't inhibit your browsing. Alas, a once great extension - now all my tabs open into Forcastfox Lite. Another home run for Google to update a handy little bottom of the browser inconspiquous item and make it a full page - no mistaking it - useful item. But you pay the price. Oh if Mozilla would step up another notch.

I had the original for years, and it worked great - until it stopped updating. Uninstalled and reinstalled this 'new' poc and it is horrible. I'll find a new weather app

Nothing like the Forecast Fox I grew to love. This is pure stupidity and pretty much useless. Having the weather info in the status bar or on a toolbar is easy and instantly accessible. The whole idea of having to open a new tab is foolishness. And the info given when that new tab is opened is limited and barebones. Please go back to the way it used to be. Uninstalled.

Another in the litany of complaints. Setting up a new laptop and discovered that my trusted, always visible at a glance plugin had transformed into a full pager of limited usefullness. Farewell Forecastfox. Has anyone found a suitable alternative?

Noah Abrahams November 18th, 2014

I was hoping for the same Forecastfox I had with Firefox. Now it's just some full page garbage that actually removed the useful bits I had on a new tab. What a shame... uninstalled!

Keith Keber October 13th, 2014

It's pretty bad when an extension suddenly changes for the worse, but this is exactly what Forecastfox did. I used the old version of Forecastfox to keep track of weather all across the U.S. in both places that I visit and places where my friends and family live. I could do that at a glance with the old version. It's really too bad, so I will uninstall it.

Carla Martinek September 25th, 2014
Carla Martinek

New version is terrible. As many others have said, "The former ForecastFox was a perfectly useful weather extension that put my local conditions in the address bar, with an option to click that and pop out a menu with forecasts and the regional weather radar." Offer the new tab version if you must, but bring back the classic version that we've used for years in FireFox and Chrome. I'm uninstalling and looking for something else that is actually useful.

I so love the forecastfox on Firefox but when I switched to Chrome it's just a opening page. Please create this for Chrome so I can see the info the top of Chrome. I LOVE this app but apparently only the Firefox version. :(

i agree with jon and gary.i bought a chrome netbook and got rid of it when i realized how outdated the system was as far as updates.i don't know who's idea it was for this change, must be a OBAMA thing.i think i will try safari . you can still find a fix for ff.

Bring back the old toolbar icon. I've uninstalled the new one. If I wanted to open a new tab to get the weather I'd open a new tab and get the weather. The toolbar was excellent.

Exactly what I wanted. A non-instructive full screen extension on a new tab. Don't mind the whiners.

A Google User June 10th, 2014

Quick Review: WORTHLESS At one point, this was an awesome app. It allowed you to simply press a button, and see the weather. This app now HIJACKS your history and apps page. Save your time, and find something else, this app is worthless. I will not longer be recommending this to friends and family. I don't care if they fix it now, they will just make another stupid decision in the future.

Joseph Watson May 14th, 2014

Joanne Monette May 5th, 2014
Joanne Monette

Wonderful on Firefox. Why are the features awful now? Did some idiot say "hey, instead of being cool - let's make the user's screen unclickable and unusable everytime Chrome is opened!" --? Because it certainly feels like it. It's a horrible tool now.

The new version (Forecast Fox Lite) is almost useless - the old one was much, much better. IT was easy to use, unobtrusive, handled multiple cities, etc. Please at least make the full version available again

I really, really miss the toolbar icon access. I do not like the full page layout at all and may will probably stop using it soon.

Dennis Champagne April 13th, 2014

I used to install the full version on every machine that went through this shop (about 400 PC's a year). This junk is not recommended to any of my clients. They would rather use Yo Window Weather. I'm not sure what brought on this change, and for awhile after the full version stopped showing up in the Google Extension Search I could still find and install the full plugin by searching from the full google search. Now that also brings up this Lite junk and I'll move on.

Jemm Oleo March 25th, 2014
Jemm Oleo

For a tab page Weather, it is OK. But it use to be a toolbar icon and it was so good that way! Why did you change this extension???? Sometimes, it's best to leave a good thing alone. I would only recommend it to someone that wants a tab to open up with the weather. I will be uninstalling this extension for the above explained reason.

A Google User February 8th, 2014

Tom Kopacz December 27th, 2013

It does what it says it does. Unfortunately, that's the problem. The former ForecastFox was a perfectly useful weather extension that put my local conditions in the address bar, with an option to click that and pop out a menu with forecasts and the regional weather radar. Now, it wipes out my new tab page and is barely informative. This new "lite" version is a failed effort. The developer needs to withdraw it and bring back the original product.

Ed Dawson November 24th, 2013
Ed Dawson

The "Lite" version is nothing like what I want. Loved the icons in a tool bar version; it was so much more efficient and useful. I will check back for a non-lite... but this one has to go!

Gary J. Toth November 20th, 2013
Gary J. Toth

This used to be SO good! Then, they improved it. If I wanted a full-page extension, I would install a full-page extension. I wanted something exactly like it WAS! This is crap! After years of relying on Forecastfox, you've managed to lose yet another user. Go back to your crack pipe and see if you can manage to make something USEFUL!

Chris Francis November 16th, 2013
Chris Francis

Bring the old version back. I used to be able to easily check weather in 9 or 10 different places I cared about without a new tab and still had access to the default new tab page. plus, I can't even get it to accept the zip code I put in. SUCKS.

Fail. It overwrites my new tab page, which I hate. I didn't bother to find out anything else about it because I won't use it like this.

Gary Noakes September 28th, 2013
Gary Noakes

With the non-Lite version, I could see the temp at a glance, get a 5-day summary with a single click. This new version isn't worth keeping, prolly the most worthless extension for Chrome there is.

Cosmin Harjan September 18th, 2013
Cosmin Harjan

awful! what happened to the non-lite version?

Sean Whelan September 9th, 2013

I want the old version back... with the icon in the corner with temp and you hovered over it and the radar map showed. This sucks.

A Google User August 27th, 2013
A Google User

Mixed bag of goods here. On one hand, the current form is very aesthetically appealing and does its job well. On the other hand, I would much rather prefer the previous version with the small icon on the toolbar that allows me to check the weather at a glance with minimal effort. If they could combine the two, then this would be a stellar app. Ultimately, the app is extremely visually appealing, but not nearly as functional as the previous version. Disappointed.

jon sequitur August 24th, 2013
jon sequitur

wtf happened to the forecastfox which was useful to me? i noticed last night that it had ceased to operate, so i uninstalled it in order to try reinstalling it. now it appears to have been completely wiped off the face of the earth and replaced by its current "lite" form - which is complete *rubbishware*. did the nsa tell you to do this so they can watch our weather tracking habits along with our emails and text messages? or did the programmer watch too much "breaking bad" and decide to get on the meth pipe? just sayin'...

Asder Tredsa August 5th, 2013
Asder Tredsa

Some of the negative reviewers appear not to understand the purpose of this extension. I find that it does exactly what it says it will do - cleanly displays current temp and weather info in any new tab you open, along with the next 3 days forecast. If you want your usual Chrome homepage, this isn't the extension you're looking for. As an added nice feature, the extension seems to automatically determine the nearest weather station to me without any need for setup and it easily switches for F to C and back with a click (useful since I regularly use both.)

John Wells August 2nd, 2013

Horrible, can't get my other apps. Give me the icon anyday

icb iwf August 2nd, 2013

I've been using ForefastFox for many, many years, but this isn't ForecastFox. ForecastFox is a toolbar icon that shows the forecast and a radar image when you click on it. Where did that extension go? This New Tab page hijacker is awful, as well as useless.

Tom Hackett July 19th, 2013
Tom Hackett

What happened to the original "non-lite" Forecastfox extension that put an icon in my toolbar? This is useless. Whenever I open a new tab, it displays the current temp in HUGE digits and overrides my default Chrome homepage and I can't find any way to change settings. Removed!
