does exactly what it says
Does what it supposed to do. A very simple, but very productive functionality, so much i think it should be chrome native. Thanks for create it and sharing.
Exactly what i wanted ty!
works perfectly.
Doesn't work
Hey mate! I desperately want to use your extension for it implements the unique feature of reordering tabs to a specific position. However, after a successful demo run, its functionality has completely broken down in subsequent uses. I suspect that it might be clashing with another extension that I'm using in conjuction with it ('The Great Suspender') but that's just a guess. Please suggest a fix if one occurs to you or I'm afraid I reluctantly would have to switch to an alternative.
Must have! I've been using this feature in Linux since ever, got very used to it. Never really understand why the feature is missing in both Windows and Mac. Thanks a lot.
Essential plugin!
For anyone saying it doesn't work, have you tried restarting the browser? That fixed it for me. Works well but a couple suggestions: - Allow users to set their own key combinations - When using the arrow keys, wrap around (e.g. if you try to move the first tab left, move it to the end)
doesn't work on Mac, and causes me to be unable to log into a company site
Doesn't work. Chrome 67, OSX 10.12.6
blue tabs
works as intended
Thank you so much! Answers precisely what I was looking for, coming to Windows 10 from Ubuntu. The "need to reload tabs that preceded installation of this extension" should be made a more frontal note :D Is there a way it'd opt to override Google Docs so even G-DOCS tabs could be moved?
Brilliant. Should be default keyboard shortcut on all platforms of Chrome. Thankfully there are brilliant developers like bonstio.net to help us out.
Little thing but helps a lot! Thanks
It just doesn't work at all. Windows 10, Chrome 61.0.3163.100. The keys don't do anything. There's no key combination that can move a pixel. I tried to click on the tab first so not to have focus on some text field or anything but nothing works. I'll keep it active just in case. EDIT: deactivated it. I found another identical extension that does exactly the same (and works).
This is a nice extension. If possible, could you make the transition faster? Like around 0-0.15sec if possible? Then I'll give 5 stars.
Doesn't seem to work. Even if any of the combos would work, my keyboard does not have PgUp/PgDown and I don't see any way to re-assign the shortcuts.
Overview claims that it requires no permissions which is not true and it didn't work on my computer. Hoping he can fix these problems so I can give it a better review.
Doesn't work on Mac
Doesn't work with Chrome on macOS Sierra.
My only request is the ability to disable ctrl+shift+7 and ctrl+shift+8 since these are reserved shortcuts to create numbered lists and bulleted lists in Google Inbox.
Can't fault it. Does the job!
Does not work on macOs Sierra v. 10.12.3 with Chrome v. 55.0.2883.95
Really liked this extension. It satisfies me in a way that I am not forced to use the mouse for just moving the tabs or rearranging the order.
Thanks! Works on W7
Works in most cases, but not if cursor is on the address bar.
Hey! I think this app is amazing!! Thanks so much :D I had an idea though; when ctrl+shift is held down, it'd be cool to have small highlighted numbers or something in between the tabs to see where you're thinking of placing it, otherwise it's a trial and error situation or you get the tab number wrong in your mind. Just a little thing :) Thanks!
Doesn't work on Windows 10...
Does not function on Chrome (v53) for my Mac (El Cap). Tried all these combinations, to no avail: Ctrl+Shift+PgUp/Down, then Cmd+Shift..., then Ctrl+Fn+Shift..., then Cmd+Fn+Shift... Did not do anything in any case.
Useful, works. Great for avoiding accidentally moving your mouse when you want a tab to be first in the order, and instead pulling it into a separate window. I have pinned tabs in another window, though I believe that's unrelated. The ctrl+shift+number doesn't work to move a tab, but the page up/down works fine.
Pretty nice and simple. Butt ugly icon.
Works, but not immediately. Either the browser must be relaunched, use in a new window of tabs, or open and close a few tabs for this to work.
It does it's job. Would like the ability to change the shortcut and for the extension not to need access to all my webpages.
It would be better if I could change the commands and wrap around.
Very good addon but with a serious bug. If you have pinned tabs, the active can not be moved after the pinned tabs with the ctr+shift+1 shortcut. it stays where it is. this needs a fix.
A problem is that you can also reorder tabs using ctrl+shift+4 or any other number. This is bad because it overwrites other shortcuts (e.g. I use Ctrl+shift+7 and +8 for numbered and bullet lists in Google docs and Gmail)
Why does this require permission to "read and change all your data on the websites you visit"?
Finally I can move the the tab with keyboard shortcut. On Mac, I must press Fn+Shift+Control+Up/Down I hope I can customize the keyboard shorcuts.
Love it. Yes, for Mac users we have to add "fn" into the combined keys to make it works. fn+ctrl+shift+up/down
An option to specify your own key combination would make this a perfect productivity add-on.
Installed. Restarted Chrome. Doesn't work.
it works. i wish it would wrap around though, like ctrl+pgup and ctrl+pgdn do. not sure why that usecase was overlooked.
Would give 5 stars if I could customize the mappings.
It doesn't work.
Where exactly can i find pgDwn/up on macbook?
One roundabout way to customize the shortcut (on a Mac) - use BetterTouchTool to map whatever you want to ctrl-shift-fn-up/down. Otherwise, it works exactly as it says.
Not working on mac
It was awesome until I realized that I couldn't use my gmail shortcut for bullets (ctrl+shift+8) or numbered list (ctrl+shift+7) anymore, which I use very frequently actually. Would be a killer extension if I had the ability to customize the hot keys used to operate it.
A killer extension if I've ever seen one! Only shortcoming is the inability to customize shortcuts. For a heavy keyboard user, it'd be nice in case the defaults conflict with any global hotkeys you've set up. Other than that, it works exactly per the description. Dope.
I was shocked to find out that on Windows this isn't a native feature. Seems a bit sluggish and obviously on a lot of pages just doesn't (can't) work, but still way better than no such feature at all.
Works awesomely!
Thank you! But these are not working for me on Chrome and Chromium on Ubuntu. Move active tab to first position - ctrl-shift-1 Move active tab to last position - ctrl-shift-9 Move active tab to nth position - ctrl-shift-<2..8>
A very handy function, thanks so much. For those working with a Chromebook: 1. close & re-open all tabs 2. use the keyboard shortcut: SEARCH+Shift+Ctrl+Down/Up arrow. Then it works wonderfully.
I like the functionality, but on a mac laptop it doesn't work because the PgUp/Dn doesn't exist.
Thanks so much. This really helps me keep my bearings in a window overloaded with tabs.
Thanks so much for this extension. I got spoiled in Chromium on my Linux netbook, and wanted the same mouse-free functionality on my work desktop. :)
Wow! How does this even work?!
Didn't work first time after install.. had to restart Chrome.. then it worked
I love the functionality, I wish I could change the keys, though. I forget the key combo, and I have to restart the browser now and then to get it to work.
Initially wasn't working and I got so disappointed. Then I restarted the browser and it worked perfectly! This is one of my favorite Chrome apps now.
Thank you! So Good! Just simply brilliant! Is there a donation page so we can send you a couple of bucks? Totally worth it!
