Wish it worked, because the premise is awesome. Unfortunately the only page it actually works on is the 'Scrollbar Anywhere' options page-- it doesn't do a thing anywhere else.

Sir // MAdam, This is an excellent extension that WEB BROWSERS should consider embedding into the design. They have already tried this with OVERLAY SCROLLBARS inside chrome://flags............but honestly? Overlay SB's does not really function all that well.......? i have a widescreen Laptop here , which is extremely common. There will be over 300 million of these Laptops and the display settings are all standard. When in OVERLAY SCROLLBARS and you take the mouse pointer to the RIGHT SCREEN SIDE edge nothing happens. You must then move the pointer tiny amounts inwards to get overlay scrollbars to appear......it's a terrible implementation of scrollbars by the browser company's ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If there was ONE addition that could help your installed extension it's giving "some sort of visual indication" to any Laptop user of HOW to actually scroll. How does a new user to the Laptop know *how* to scroll.... if THEY were not the person who installed your extension? Intuitively a regular laptop user would drag the pointer over to the RIGHT SCREEN SIDE and not find any scrollbar.........and so they would then move to the Laptop KEYBOARD ARROWS or page down. Could you create a method where-upon....... 1) WHEN THE USER PRESSED any "keyboard arrow key" to try to scroll the web page........ 2) As the user did (1 above) also A SCREEN MESSAGE APPEARED telling the user how to use the MOUSE to scoll by "holding down the mouse button and sliding the mouse" it's just a helper for NEW USERS of machines where those USERS have no idea your extension is installed.

(Had to install it again to write a review, which sucks). This extension blocked all my rightclick popups in chrome, that really sucks. I got to know this only after some days being frustrated by not being able to use any popup menus anywhere. Took me some time to figure out what extension does that. Not recommended to those who still want the full mouse, not half of it.

Works well! Only problem might be interference with default OS keys like ctrl+clicking on mac actually triggers right click instead. And yeah, didn't work here while scrolling through reviews... which is kinda ironic :)

Since I switched to Linux some of my favorite tablet features stopped working. This bridged that gap, thank you, works wonderfully :D

Works "almost" flawlessly. I'ts a shame that OS and Chrome doesn't have adequate scrolling built in.

This isn't a scrollbar anywhere... Because if your cursor is over an image or link it doesn't scroll. You have to move the cursor off of those things for it to work. So it kind of defeats the purpose for me, because if i have the move the cursor any way i might as well just use the browser scroll bar. So if the dev ever sees this, please add an option to enable scroll ANYWHERE. It would also be nice to have a consistent scroll speed option, because currently the scroll speed completely depends on how large/long the page is, so the speed varies from page to page.

Works as advertised! Excellent! For MacOS users; if your right mouse button no longer seems to work within Chrome: Go to the "Scrollbar Anywhere" settings and set "Which button will you hold down to drag?" to "middle".

Wow what a useful little tool! Tried it for a minute and I'm hooked. It's way better than the middle mouse scrolling, great for slow fluid scrolling or quick page scanning. A small tool with huge impact to browsing experience.

I can't scroll in places I want to scroll, only places with scrollbars. I would like it better if you could add the ability to scroll in places that have no scrollbars. I can't scroll in Discord areas that require me to scroll so that would be very helpful

This extension is really nice. I was looking for something to read animated comics with and found this very useful for that. one problem with the extension is that scroll speed is page length dependent. the more content you load on a page, the faster the scrolling will be. it's good for websites with no auto loading properties.

Works great! Lots of options and I like the option to grab & drag and the cursor turning into a hand when you do that. Just what I wanted.

Works perfectly for chrome, but not in Vivaldi browser. Vertical Tabs (that are actually not horrible) and Scrollbar Anywhere seems to be a Firefox only combination sadly..

Often the scroll bar will scroll uncontrollably.I cannot scroll into video arrows and expandable text boxes (such as reddit and youtube). I'm disabling the extension because of this.

Has a major issue -- if there is a link under the cursor, dragging still brings up the context menu, instead of scrolling. This makes scrolling hit and miss, which totally ruins the experience. Can't this be fixed to work like the Firefox version?

Carl August 27th, 2015

I got used to this style of scrolling after countless hours of working with Unreal Engine 4 and I would always laugh out loud when I caught myself trying to replicate the scrolling behaviour in chrome. It's great that I can now do this in my favourite broswer :) PLEASE allow us to reverse the scrolling direction!

Gaurav February 20th, 2016

Superb. I wish this behavior was system-wide in Windows. Makes scrolling with a touchpad just as good even if you don't have two single scrolling, a scroll wheel like a mouse or touchscreen.

Ndi February 20th, 2016

Inferior to other things I've used (Firefox Grab Drag) in the sense that it's acrolling exactly not anywhere. Youtube pages go bonkers, Start to scroll, then shudder uncontrollably. Google main page scrolls opposite. Other sites go bonkers. Either this is old and unmaintained ir it's just bad.

It likes to scroll you to the very top of the page while you're holding down the scroll button. More frustrating than beneficial. Oh how I miss Grab N Drag from Firefox.

Game-like left-click grab-drag scrolling. Can still select text, click on hyperlinks. Great work. Please hide scrollbar?

Tim Ritson October 23rd, 2015
Tim Ritson

Great app but major flaw is that you cant initiate scolling over links. Webpages are jam packed with links these days so sometimes its actually harder to find an empty space and use scrollbar anywhere than it is to just click on the scrollbar. If this can be rectified though, it will be perfect.

It works well enough, but interferes with a lot of things like selecting from dropdowns. Pretty much every problem stems from it not actually requiring the button to be held down. From the other reviews it seems much more useful for tablet users than PC.

Sorry to say. but it refuses to work no matter what I do. I really loved the app on Firefox, and I have been going nuts without it. I was really hoping for good things, and was utterly let down. It might just be me, but I thought I should yell you.

Update: unfortunately, left click to drag/scroll is sticky, requires second, release click. This gets in the way of using the mouse for anything else. Bug was reported 2 months ago. Will uninstall. Very nice. I would like the scrollbar mode to have a direction reversal option. Otherwise well executed and with plenty of options. Thanks.

This works, mostly. It's just that it's still got the same quirks and issues it had over a year ago already. Personally, I really don't care for the cursor, as I prefer the default one even when scrolling. And I understand that Chrome's scrolling mechanism works very different from the one in Firefox. But what I still "miss" in comparison to the Firefox "Grab and Drag" add-on, is an option to disable the locking when I just click without dragging. I prefer the left mouse button for this, so this would often lock into the dragging mode when I click things, like media controls or other stuff (don't ask). In addition to that, it still interferes with both highlighting and dragging highlighted text.

Pretty awesome, but one huge problem: It needs a way be disabled on certain sites, or a button to quickly toggle it on/off. Reason being is that it makes using certain things such as google docs and gmail a huge pain. I would imagine the same is true for some other sites.

Mario Kotlar July 20th, 2014

Since few days ago it's enough to click and release the mouse button and extension will lock in scrolling mode until you click again. This bug causes me to accidentally enter the drag scroll mode all the time whenever I miss clicking something by a pixel. It even locks in scrolling mode when clicking on a youtube video to play/pause it, or anything of that nature. edit: I tried using it like this for a few days but it's practically unusable right now.

Been looking for this extension since my conversion to Chrome from FF. Great extension, but like I've seen mentioned it would be even better if a PDF-style hand cursor were added, like the one in FF's grab-and-drag. Great extension, though!

This is perfect for laptop and especially those who cannot use their mouse wheel but love the touchpad. Just one thing - is it possible to make the context menu disabled because if you choose to activate it with the right button, it(the context menu) appears after release?

Great extension! Definitely much better than the other grab-and-drag addons. The only thing I miss from the FF grab-and-drag is the hand cursor, it would be great to have an option to replace the 4-arrow cursor with a PDF-like hand.

Awesome app. Really really useful. Drawback is that it disables some webpages' buttons and other script unusable. When I disable this extension, everything works just fine. If the kinks can be sorted out, this will easily be a must-have extension.

Works well, I tried the 4 different extensions I could find in the web store and this is the best for me because the 'hold down mouse key and drag' is most unobtrusive in normal non-drag usage. I like the % scaling setting also. I use in Grab-n-drag style as it's most like Adobe, which I'm used to. All it needs is an Adobe style hand icon, which, again, is what I'm used to.

This is a really useful extension. I noticed when it's set to left mouse buttons without any modifier keys, clicking some buttons on some sites (ex. Twitter tweet button) do not work. Could be a small bug to fix though. Overall, this made my user experience much better with chrome! Thanks to developer!
