Worked as intended. No lag noticed.

Explicit images searches are now blurred. you can see them if you click the image but all the thumbnails are blurred? it's definitely this extension that's causing the issue.

Still love it but can't access the "related images" part anymore.

By far the best extension of all these "View Image" extensions. It works flawlessly all these years with zero problems and honestly I love it. I really can't understand how on earth has only 30.000+ installs! (at the time)

Was having issues with it working, until I went into the settings and forced it to "allow access to search pages". Not sure why that's off by default with an add-on like this, but turning it on solved all my problems. Thanks for this amazing add-on!

was great when it worked but as of 10-AUG-2022 it no longer works on any of my Chrome desktop browsers.

I can't believe Google still hasn't doubled back on their decision. The new "sidebar" UI is objectively worse.

It exactly does what says: Restoring Old Google Images Layout with "View Image" button! not that images be showed in the right side of the window/tab, but under the clicked Image(Old fashion google images if you remember it ;) the only problem is the clicked image that are shown in the window, are a little small compared to the new google images layout and you really need to use view image button to see a large size of every image! generally very nice and I like it?

Love it! If possible, can you update its manifest version to v3?

EDIT: 1/12/2020 Still not working anymore it was working a few weeks ago but yea it was fun while it lasted can I say how much I hate google messing up this extension cuz yea it just sucks. | it's not working anymore please fix >.< EDIT 2/2/2020 after the newest update it works EDIT 3/5/2022 I installed this into my Opera GX browser and for some reason it is not working, still was working for me on chrome tho EDIT 3/5/2022 (again) did some messing around and now it's working, make sure you go into the extension settings and toggle acess on and off for it to work

Love it, but seems to have an issue with not working in related images. If you open up any image and click the view more option on the related images, this extension doesn't work for the related images search page.

It doesn't appear to make anything change and there are no instructions or settings to take a look at.

great extension I've used it for the last couple of years only issue right now is some images resolutions are not rendering completely and end up looking lower quality than they are, however when disabling the extension and using the current native image interface the problem goes away I've checked this against the exact same image. I'm not sure if you can fix this but I thought id let you know. Still a usable extension though thanks.

Good extension but it only seems to work properly on the first half of the Google image page. After that when you click to view an image it opens to a version that is smaller to the one you are trying to view. It can be very inconvenient but otherwise it works fine.

Works great! I'm so glad to be rid of Google's horrid "new" layout. I honestly can't image search without it. There is however one small problem with their last update. The Little refining categories at the top of the page. https://i.imgur.com/HCr783p.gif Are gone whenever this extension is enabled. https://i.imgur.com/OPCnijw.jpg They're actually quite useful. And i'd love for them to make a return.

I am using this extension & love it. But I request the developer to solve my problem pls. In the image search results, when we click on a random image for preview, webpage hard scrolls up/down so that it can show the preview at center of the screen. In my opinion, this behavior is not much different from current google images, because it also makes images jump all over the place just to show a preview. My request is that, Instead of automatic hard scrolling, webpage should just show the preview below the clicked image. There is no problem if some part of preview is out of screen. We can manually scroll up/down. I remember this is how old google images used to work. Pls bring it back. Thanks.

First off, I was so happy when I found this extension, makes things much easier. But it doesn't seem to be working anymore. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing multiple times and it hasn't helped. Is anyone else having this issue?

July 30, 2021: THIS EXTENSION IS AWESOME!!! I believe Google made a recent change (last 30 days?) in Images as the previous extension I had no longer allowed "View Image". I uninstalled, reinstalled that extension and it still failed. Ran across this one, installed and WOW - it works better than the extension I was using. GREAT JOB. Kudos.

Works when you navigate to www.google.com and search from there. Does not work at all when you use any other method to access google search, including searching from the address bar in chrome. Seems like a weird oversight, but it completely kills the usefulness of the extension

So so happy with this. Love how with the "new and improved" google photos when I click on a thumbnail, I get, tada! The same thumbnail. So infuriating. Thank you so much for fixing this ludicrous change to Google images.

Since a couple of days some things has changed. When I was looking for a visual in images, I could see the image size of all the images, but now I have to move the cursor over the image to see the image size. Not a big deal but it cost me time to move the cursor over each image to see its size. But the most important was the change of the option "Search google for image" which I use a lot. When I do this the results are displayed, but I can't no more to see the file size, so I have to open every image to find the file size that fits for me.

Works perfectly as of januray 18, 2021. Definitely not a bot..

Hi! Thanks so much for this. It's really so much better than what is being offered. However I noticed something changed recently. As I cycle through thumbnail images using arrows on keyboard and go progressively through the search images, now the extension window/expanded image does not track with where I am on the browser window. IE The extension window gets pushed further and further out of view down the page and out of view as the page seems not to recognize the position of which images i'm clicking through. I can scroll the page down to view the extension/ expanded image, but as soon as click the arrow key forward it returns me to the top of the thumbnail page with the extension once again out of view. I'm using this on latest version of google chrome browser on mac os.

Love this extension, but there's a limit to how many photos I can move through set to 24, only a minor inconvenience but why does it do this?

IT SOLVES THE NEW UI PROBLEM

First impression is works well. best alternative to the other popular one. Because of the inconsistency of the other, i tried this . Works. so will stick with this for the foreseeable future. . hope the dev has some integrity and protects his/her/their user base. Potential use : collage art, photomanipulations, design references and clip art searches. The google image can be collected fast with a right click save-as. basically a productivity tool for various artists . Often high resolution images are desired. When the image search went away, it forced you to go into a website to look for said image. Often a vain pursuit . This extension reduces time spent looking for that higher res image, so you can start editing or whatever.

Simply brilliant. "Unfixes" what didn't need to be fixed in the first place.

Works. Their is a delay whenever an image is clicked. It is only a second or two but in this environment it feels like forever. I confirmed (on my machine anyways) by turning on and off. New google images is IMMEDIATE in response. This has an unfortunate delay.

Google screwed up their image search preview making it way to small. This extension effectively fixes it so the preview is big enough to clearly see.

Fixes a problem Google refuses to believe it created. Wish I could find some Ad Manager fixes, because they screwed that up too!! Extension works and restores the preview to UNDER the selection not on the right awkwardly. Google - get it together!

When I open up an image on Google Images, the name of the website shows up instead of the description of the webpage, can you please find out what's wrong and make it a bug fix for 0.3.1?

I really hate the new layout of google images. I started using yandex images because of that... Thank you for make this perfect extension, now I can use google images again.

Excellent extension. 1 request to the developer is on high DPI screens, show the images a little larger still. On my 17 inch laptop which has high-res, high DPI screen, I've turned on display scaling, zoom etc but the image preview shown is still a little small with plenty of space above and below it wasted. Around 1.5 inches on top and bottom of the image unused. It would be nice (even if the original Google Image search didn't have it), if the image was scaled to fit the vertical resolution/height of the screen.

Maybe my favorite extension. There's a small problem where every once in a while it won't go to the next image with the arrow keys, but nothing that can't be fixed by the click of a mouse.

Not working with Opera GX. Author should check it and make some kind of ajdustments to support GX. My only criticism is that the Related Images section seems to be broken. The only way I can get it to work is to use the "search by image" function, then clicking on visually similar images and searching through there.

Wow. After Google's update, I click on a thumbnail and am presented with... the same thumbnail I literally just clicked on. But now when I hover over it, it reassures me the dimensions are much larger. Fine, I'll click again. Oh wait, it's redirected me to the source website, which almost NEVER actually even contains the image, let alone the full size. Lemme go back to the search. 20 minutes later I still can't find a SINGLE F***ING WAY to view the image (ok obviously I can view the source HTML, pull the URL out of the img tag, and use that... If I wanted to age a hundred years every time I wanted to find a few images.) But now with your plugin, this extremely rudimentary feature works as if Google had at least one brain among its decision makers. Congratulations, you're more capable while working for free than the entire staff at a multi billion dollar corporation.

Please provide an option for the design and the pixel size on each picture. Personally I only wish to have the image resolution shown in the corner all the time (instead of a whole bar only on hover), and I don't necessarily want to get the old search layout back. Thanks.

Thank you. The update that made Google Images smaller when you click on them is absolutely the single biggest example of UI failures I can think of. Cool that some Google employee could be busy with this and maybe made a promotion. But it affects billions of users and I'm very sure it is not a well-considered decision at all. Just like the Google Search bar that shifts the whole page down one second after you hit a search. Goes to show that we rely on Google a bit too much, it is a risky single point of failure. But well.. now I can finally expand images to their full size again so I can look at them in full glory!

Unfortunately this is utterly broken as of a few days ago. I hated, I mean *HATED* the new Google images search, I'm an artist who searches images a lot and it just broke my workflow. So when I found this extension, I was really happy, I've been using it since launch and would have given it 5* But unfortunately now, all it does is use the horrible vanilla images box, but puts it at the very bottom of the search page, so it's completely and utterly useless, worse than Google's own search, and that is saying something.

This is pure bliss. Large familiar previews and precious long forgotten visit page button. I hate google for their lack of customisation and imposing of useless standarts.

current status (24 feb): not working, at least on my pc. the view image button does not lead to the correct image; even the image preview panel does not refer to the one that i clicked.

I am SO glad this extension exists!! However lately whenever I click on the initial photo I want to see a bit bigger or click one of the related images to bring it up, it shows it for a millisecond, then changes to a grey and white checker board (like when you have no background in photoshop) square where the photo preview is supposed to be. Any thoughts??

This works great but recently images won't load in full resolution. Before the update it worked fine but now the images won't even load in full quality.

Okay, I think I figured out how to (after googling it. A bit of irony. . .) delete that blasted cookie, and block google from putting them on my computer. HOPEFULLY it stays gone.

Let me just start by saying this is an amazing extension and saved me from a lot of headaches. But for some reason, as of today, the extension has stopped working. And no amount of installing and re-installing has fixed it. I was wondering if there was another way of fixing this or if anyone else is has a similar problem.

Yes!! Just discovered this extension and it rules!! Finally normal centered stuff instead of that TOTALLY non-intuitive image search on the right.

RemoveCookiesForSite is be an easier way to zap the google cookies while on the google search page. Refresh page and it should restore the old layout.

It was great but it stopped working. Please fix. I can't stand the new layout.
