Does not work and disables parts of your keyboard too, the enter button, I'm done with anything windows, the stuff does not work on a regular basis. I run a small business and time is money, day after day I find it easier to just use the old ways (pen and paper forms) to get work done. I'm running a Dell XPS13 with win 11, my laptop is a year old 2022 model and windows is a problem every time. For years windows works some times and then not, crashing or errors, it's junk.

Why do I need an extension for basic functions.

Never a fan of needing an extension just to be able to copy/paste.

I use a Chromebook. I just want a way to open an Office file (i.e. .xlsx .docx etc) from within my Chromebook's 'Files' app and have it pop open in the web version of Excel, Word etc. Is that too much to ask? This app, in its current state (8.Sept.22) does not do that. Launch an xlsx file from Files and you'll get something in the notification area about 'we are uploading your document...' and then nothing further happens. The file will eventually appear in the extension dropdown, when I can then launch it in Online Excel, in a new tab. OK, I get a file has to be uploaded somewhere to appear in the browser but I then want that file to automatically open in the online version of Excel. Again, is that too much to ask? Upload > Open in Excel in a new browser tab. Sounds simple to me.

Can't use it since it has mandatory registration.

Very convenient

I have to reload my page in order to receive new emails after the Office and Google Chrome updated. Could someone please take a look and fix it? Thank you

keeps logging me out most times when I try accessing an office app like Word or my Outlook email or just logs itself out completely all on it's own. Sucks as having the extension was supposed to be super helpful as I use office online for varsity. please fix this glitch or bug whatever so I can re-download and actually use the app

Once I enabled MFA with Duo for work the extension will not stay logged in.

Latest version with Chrome version 102 keeps on requesting to sign in every time it is used and even when signed in does not allow access to OneDrive other apps like Outlook working normally.

Speeds things up, but lately it just keeps signing out all the time.

It used to open files on my Chromebook into Office, but it has stopped for some reason. Aside from this, it is still a useful extension.

Using chromebook duet and doesn't even work. Try two fingers click on docx file and choose Office to open, nothing happen. Force install Office from .apk file coz playstore not supported anymore, and it works fine. For now all my files had to upload to Onedrive first and it will open online with no trouble. This extensions s*cks or is it just me who got this error?

Waste of time, it doesn't open files from the computer automatically in the browser, you have to open the app in the browser then upload or chose the files from ur computer to open them in the browser, you have to do this every time you open a file

It automatically opens a new tab to the extension documentation page and makes me lose focus on my work frequently. I assume this happens when the extension is updated. It opens to a page that documents the extension. Very annoying. Please just update the extension silently.

"Open Office files directly in the browser with Office" feature worked once for me. It was fantastic when it did! I have the setting checked, I've toggled that setting, I've signed in and out, I've reinstalled it in Chrome, Chrome doesn't have any pending updates, I've restarted my computer- any time I click on an Office file link, Chrome downloads it, I click on the download file and then it opens the file in the Word app, and not through the extension. There's no way to get in touch with support and the 'Contact Developer' link brings you to a blank page.

A very useful app

Worthless. It wants me to go to the website, then wants me to use app which is no longer supported on Chromebook, so it opens the doc in the OneDrive viewer, where I can't edit it. I'd be fine with going to the web interface, but there is no way to get to it. If this extension just allowed that, it would be great. Forcing me download an app we all know won't work is insane.

Since updating to ChromeOS to v94 cannot open files from the Files app. Tried removing and tested on different Chromebooks with different logons and has the same issue.

Not real sure why it exists. I have a chromebook and and word online. So, I go online to my Dropbox online account, open a file, work on it in Word Online and it automatically saves to Dropbox. Fine. But if I go through "Office Online" I go to Dropbox, open a file, and the program immediately saves it (and continues to save it) to the Office Online Extension, which is all but undiscoverable later when I am on my lap top. I can force it to save back to dropbox, but as soon as I finish that, it will start saving back to the Office Online Extension again. In my situation, it has no value and actually wastes time and space. I'm sure there is a hidden secret way to force it to save things where I want to save them, but so far, after much searching, I have not been able to find it.

Keeps popping up all the time, even if signed in. super annoying with office window opening every few days with "Quick access to your Office files in the browser"...I know, I signed in already, just stop doing this

I can't see how this is any different to having office.com. This can be accessed just as easily if saved as a shortcut on a new tab, or as a browser favourite, saved on the bookmark bar perhaps. Have i missed something here?

I mainly use this extension to access Office online quickly. As coupled with Dark Reader Extension it provides comfort to the eyes unlike the desktop app. Glad to know Microsoft is working on a dark mode to inverse page and text color

Just reinstalled the OS(Ubuntu 21.04) and haven't installed the input method, so I can only input English. However, the Chrome Office Extension works again, probably because there was a cache on the system before so it can't be used. Anyone using Linux or Chromebook, and this extension not worked in these month even after reinstall this extension, try to clear chrome cache or systems cache.

Still works on my window computer at work but not on my chromebook it is really good when working

Worked great until last week on my Chromebook. It's now permanently corrupted. Repairing, uninstalling and re-installing, rebooting Chromebook and updating chrome OS did nothing. Huge disappointment.

Worked well for many months on 2020 HP x360 Chromebook and now "corrupted" and inoperative without the ability to "repair" it in spite of numerous efforts and wasted time uninstalling/reinstalling and clearing cache. Unacceptable considering I have a paid Office 365 account. I shouldn't have to use Android apps on a newer Chromebook. Microsoft needs to fix this.

Failing/damaged in Chrome on Chrome OS: When installed on Chromebooks (I tried it with two different manufacturers' products), this extension is automatically disabling itself, and reporting as "corrupted" and in need of "repair." Attempting to repair it from the extensions manager doesn't work. I should note that the Chrome Web Store entry for this extension reports it as "Compatible with your device."

For several versions now, Chrome has just said "This extension is corrupted."

The app says "extension may have been corrupted" tried to remove it and download the extension again the error still appears.......when pressing the repair buttons, nothing changes.

This extension spams me with their First Use webpage every day at 3:09PM. My work enforces that this extension is installed on Chrome which isn't a problem. The problem is, it seems to reinstall it every day which then will pop up help paged called "Quick access to your Office files in the browser" at the same time every day, interrupting whatever it is I'm doing.

I've downloaded this extension several times, but always end up uninstalling. When I launch it, it will open up and then in about 2 seconds close again - every time. Its unusable for me.

This extension has become corrupted and refuses to repair.

Used to use this extension all the time, however it constantly displays 'this extension has corrupted' no matter how many time I repair it or reinstall it. This is on ChromeOS v.88.0.4324.109 on the stable channel, not beta, so I'm a tad annoyed.

Well how do I start this without sounding like just another negative review. Ok Mr. Blunt is here. Past few months the app has not let me in my onedrive or skype when it was the utmost and important time of my career. my career is just like this app steadily doing a nose dive then a faint pull up every now and then. btw i have office through my organization. i just started to use libreoffice because i was basically forced to. and for a phone i use textnow app so free is free. it's like riding a three wheeler though learning experience. yay linux rookie here. isn't this office train wreck supposed to make your workflow easier? I know more than half the people that use this office have or has critical problems with it. its because people cant learn something that basically is always changing its core functions and identify.its like being with a female that you know she's horrible for you but she is everywhere were you look and feel.and you keep going back and falling on your face.and getting treated like poop. but ill see you tomorrow office the never ending battle. tomorrow maybe i'll figure out the finest fonts and be proficient in microsoft office.

Will not work on my HP Chromebook. I install it (extension v.2.2.4)and get "This extension may have been corrupted." No number of clicking repair, uninstall/reinstall, closing browser has fixed the issue.

Within an office, one person calling another person dials an extension. In an older PBX, that would be four digits, and limited to the same building. In a hosted PBX, it can be three, four or five digits, and the extension can be anywhere in the world, including your cell phone, So that's a good thing we get a shortcut.

I don't know if I trust this app, ever since Its been activated by my school or something the my laptop has been flashing been occasionally maybe 1-3 times a day and today it's been blacking out the most. Besides that I kinda think its really annoying getting 2 notifications from this app everytime I log on and having its website auto open by itself as well. Again this is a School laptop and I'm not sure if maybe the school downloaded it or not since its managed by them.

Will to-do be added to this extension?

It was ok at the beginning but now I am signed out I don't know why and I cannot sign in. It just redirects and closes the tab.

I would rather shoot myself in the eye with a nail gun than use this program. It works when it wants to, this entire program is not worth the energy.

It was working and amazing until the latest update and now I can't log in with a school/work account. I click it and it opens a tab for a quick second and then disappears. The icon is grayed out. Something needs fixing and it'd be helpful if it was fixed soon.

Extension will no longer allow users to login with a work or school account. I hope google or microsoft will fix this.

I have Office 365 because of the school I am attending at the moment. This was working perfectly fine, when I was able to click on a Word Document from my files, and then Microsoft Word will open that file. Now, I can't even sign in or view any documents, powerpoints, and etc; Whenever I click the option to sign in using my school email, it just opens up a tab and say continue then disappear. I'm honestly very disappointed because this never happened before and just not started to occur. Not only that I know they updated the extensios, so maybe they need to look into it and fix it.

Used to mostly work fine, but now wont show me authenticated to my account. Clicking on it shows the initial login prompt to select work and school account or live account. Selecting either pops up a new tab for a moment and then it disappears. Kinda useless...

It worked well for about 2 years but now i cant login in using my university/school email as it keeps crashing. such a shame as it was so useful.

Office extension suddenly signed out multiple people I work with and is gray. They use their account to try to sign back in and it fails to sign in, and continues to stay gray. Please fix this and add some stability.

I really don't know what the heck they're trying to do that they need to modify opengl and gpu usage of chrome on all web pages with this extension, but if they must do so, they should at least not break the browser. When enable and resuming from suspended graphics, chrome dumps these errors, and all sorts of content is just broken until restart the browser. This is even if I disable all site access and don't log into an account. Disabling the extension or disabling GPU acceleration in chrome is the only thing that fixes it. ERROR:angle_platform_impl.cc(43)] ClearErrors(2057): Preexisting GL error 0x00000506 as of ../../third_party/angle/src/libANGLE/renderer/gl/TextureGL.cpp, setImageHelper:256. Nvidia proprietary drivers and gl. If you trigger this, one of the tell tail signs is regions of a page being filled in with images from another page or missing with black backs as those the buffers for the pages are incomplete and overlaid on top of eachother. This is especially true when switching tabs or scrolling.

The bottom line for this extension is that it just doesn't work very well. Some of the links are functional, others are not, others still are partially functional, meaning they might open a top-level folder of a document, but not the actual document. This doesn't seem to be that difficult of a task, folks. Still using Visual Basic 4, perhaps?

I have been using MS for over 20 years in the Department of Defense as a curriculum developer. i purchased a Chromebook to replace an aging laptop. purchase Office 365 Family. now either Chrome OS or MS has made 365 useless. the menu options are very limited and make working on a Chromebook nearly unsupported by MS. HELP is not available. and MS is no where to be found to call for help.

There is no way to report when the Microsoft Editor is high-lighting a grammatical correction erroneously. It would be nice to be able to add exceptions to the Microsoft Editor spell-check.

It doesn't serve much of a purpose other than a bookmark-equivalent. The Upload and Open doesn't work, and the new Editor Preview inserts a tooltip-style pop up that gets stuck, won't go away, and can't be interacted with when the grammer or spelling triggers. Given that Chrome already has a spell checker built in, all it does is automatically add reporting back to Microsoft of all text typed while blocking your view of text entry boxes.

It was ok until they turned that spelling/grammar editor on by default. You really think it's ok to opt everyone into piping everything they're writing through an online Microsoft service? Wow.

Great but i would like to see there to b e a place for all my sticky notes, so i can have it all in one plcae i waoud want this in one note too

As good as Office. Very useful if you are preparing lectures or slides for presentations. I love it and if you use it once you will miss it if it becomes unavailable for one reason or another.

Pretty useless as Microsoft breaks things too often. I used it to open Office files on my Chromebook for work. Now when I select a word file to open and right click to open with Office it just boots me to the Office homepage because the extension won't hold a login even though I'm logged in everywhere and even the home page it takes me to doesn't require my credentials and I'm already logged in

The Microsoft Suite is strong. I would love if the Planner app could be customized to show on the Chrome Extension.
