I was stuck with a CharmingShop redirect changing my Googles to Bing. I had something else that prevented redirects, and uninstalled it. This didn't work. For what it is worth, I found out that an untrustworthy extension was causing the redirect problem. I am giving this another try to see if it stops news site redirects.
Totally useless, does NOT work
As of this date it works very well on Chrome where both the Ublacklist and Block Site - Web Site Blocker For Chrome extensions both running at the same time didn't. You add and enable the URL from the site you don't wish to be re-directed from (which in my case was oncam.com)
It's 2020 now. Last update has been in 2014, six years ago. It no longer works. Say good bye and don't pay any attention to the bogus positive comments.
While this extension installed and enabled 'Ship to' country selection on aliexpress.com don't work.
This works like a charm. There are many others with higher user rating but none worked as good as this one for me.
Does not work on Youtube redirect. All links in description are still preceded by "https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=https". We need one to clean up youtube description links too. All social media now has this ongoing problem.
This definitely still works for me, and I prefer it over the buggy "Skip Redirect" extension. *** Note it has to be *enabled* in its settings after installation! (See below please.) ***
useless
it works for my chrome.thanks
didn't work
I think it gave me a virus but idk I keep getting notifs of allowing extensions to be added on chrome which I havent added
It doesnt work.
What it does, it does great. Of course it won't always work for any use case. But it has helped me tremendously over the past year, this is the third computer I install this on. Go dev!
Doesn't work at all
does not stop redirections
Broken, I tested it on Mediafire. It didn't work, so I hope you can fix it soon.
ok
This is still redirecting and on top of that the redirected link is a clone page of the first page
Didn't work at all, despite careful installation and re-launching Chrome. Fails on www.vrbo.com, craigslist, and yahoo. Actually, fails on every attempt, but does manage to slow browsing down.
doesn't work
Awesome
THIS SAVED ME! I couldn't open any links on tumblr because it kept on saying "error redirect failed". Now I can thanks to this. <3 Thank you.
Nope! Does not stop redirects then whats the point?
Don't work and no instructions
I enabled the sites that were constantly redirecting me and it worked like a charm. It insatntly took me where I wanted to go without any lag time. I tried it before, without any success, but enabling the problem sites solved the problem. My rating has gone from 2 stars to 5.
doesnt work i still get redirected on the same sites
Works some of the time, and that's better than nothing.
does not work for me
Stops about 75% of redirects, worth adding this extension, particularly if you watch a lot of movies online. UPDATE: no longer works since Chrome v56.0.2924.87 update. I miss it greatly, would love an update on ext.
This works great, but you MUST make one change. Go to options and change "Use Mode" to "Work on All redirect links (except ones in ‘disable’ list)." This is exactly what I was looking for to stop sites from force redirecting me to ads.
Fix URL Links broke like every plugin-related link on every page -_-
dont work
The only plugin that solve my problem, love it...!!!
Working perfect for me so far
Unfairly rated! YOU MUST Right click the icon -> Options -> choose the 2nd option -- "Work on All redirect links (except ones in ‘disable’ list)" or it won't work out of the box. Probably why people rated it so poorly. It automatically redirected Google's Shopping links (Barracuda at my work blocks some URL redirects considered "advertisements-popups"). It figured out SoundCloud's URL (https://exit.sc/?url=), which is blocked by my firewall or proxy. My bet is that the destination URL has to exist in the redirecting URL itself or it won't work. If the redirecting site is trying to mask or hide it, you're probably out of luck for those sites. URL Shorteners like bit.ly, goo.gl, or tinyurl don't show the link within the original redirecting URL.
does not work
I added this extension when a website I was trying to visit kept redirecting me to an ad. This extension didn't help at all. Whenever I tried to visit that website, it still redirected me to the ad. No big deal. It clearly wasn't working in that situation. However, later I started having problems with Pinterest not saving my pins. It was only happening in this particular browser where this extension had been added, but I didn't make the connection right away. I tried closing and reopening my browser, rebooting, clearing my cache and cookies, etc. No luck. Because I had cleared cookies, I was logged out of Pinterest. Now I couldn't even log in to Pinterest because it kept looping back to the log in page. Then, I decided to try using an incognito window to see if it would work there. It did. After some searching I realized it could be an extension causing the problem. I turned this one off, and all my problems were fixed. Pinterest stopped looping and my pins would save again. What a headache. I do not recommend adding this extension.
It interferes with HTTPS Everywhere's link redirection (taking http to https) and causes the extension to error out. Will revise if it gets fixed, but I'll likely not use this anymore :/ Just don't use Google to get your links from.
It's the only extension for Chrome that deals with redirects that I know of.
Seems to have stopped all redirects for me so far.
Well, I don't know if I was using it correctly, but I installed it to stop being redirected to websites without my permission. Went to a website to test it and it didn't work. I clicked on a text entry field and got immediately sent to some dodgy site which then downloaded an "updated flash plugin" to my computer, again, without my permission.
Works. Hate when user driven websites gives their affiliate links!!
Does not work on google search results. When clicking on a link it opens in new tab and it's starting address is still google.com/search?q=xxx
very nice
It doesn't remove linkis from links in twitter.
Just installed it and it seems to work well. I was having issues with tracking links being blocked at work and this helped get around them.
It hasn't stopped redirects for me. I use a coulple of download sites that repeatedly redirect me, and I have to deleted them several times until it finally lets me download. Some even prevent me from doing this, stating that I have a virus and have to call a number. I then have to force quit, sometimes. I had hoped that this extension would stop that, but it hasn't.
Love it, it's the only chrome extension that does this.Thank you for developing it.
didn't work on national redirection :(
Still not working... duhhh
Doesn't work for me.
it does not remove google.com redirects.
worked at first, stop working recently...
Garbage
Great removes the tracking crap from search results of Google and presents a clean link. Both an utility and privacy tool!
it does not work
Does not work. Every time I click, it redirects me to where I don't want to go. This is proving to be dangerous.
compared to cleanlinks for Firefox this isn't doing what I'd expect. I still get ref= in the url on amazon items
it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very happy with results
My problem is/was when i clicked on a link it would open correctly in a new tab and open the tab for me to view. But the original page redirected to a ad page that would lock up my browser, forcing me to do a task manager force stop ( only 1 website did this) i tried multiple adblockers, website blacklist apps you name i tried it with out luck. with this it kind of works, now instead of redirecting is reloads the page so i am 100% happy. Thank you for this extension
WORK WONDROUSLY..
What a JOke
Dont work at all
Seems to work well enough. I had an issue logging into Craigslist before I figured out it was this extension, so I added the exception and all is well again.
Didnt work at all
The only way to surf the net for Porn ;) no more opening thumbnail 10 times till you get to the right page! A gift sent from the fap gods. Took my fap session from 1 min to 30 secs! Doubles the fapping one can do in one day!
Works great for porn.. lol
Love the Smooth transition without interuption
Doesn't work
I have this redirect problem atm that should have been killed by tdsskiller but wasn't. Installing this stopped the redirects!
I still get my browser redirected to everydayrewards....get a free iPhone
can break a website which can be a pain to find out does'nt give some sort of warning that a link has been changed, maybe should be incorperated in future versions?
It works if clicking a link, but does not work if you open a link in a new tab or window. I mainly want it for skipping redirects from search results, and I usually open search results in a separate tab, so it doesn't work well for me.
no
Works perfectly for my needs.
rất tốt.thank you.
Very poor redirect detection, often breaks websites or adds useless garbage to the end of the target URL (like "?ei=somelonghexstring" for Google results). Breaks online banking even when the appropriate whitelisting is set.
total bullshit - does nothing what so ever...
It works, but the URL on the status bar is not updated. It will show the original URL on the links, but when you click it, the fixed URL will be opened. You have to enable it to work on all websites, manually, after install. Some sites get broken and do not display images.
Totally failed on every site I tried it on. I can see the URL in the GET values such as "&url=", "&u=", or "&HTML=". Why did this plugin not pick those up? The icon did not show up except one site where I was not worried about the redirects. Bah.
can't find the enable list now!//now it/s ok! thx
