Loved this app. It has stopped working recently. Probably a change in Chrome broke it.

Finally an extension that brings back my favorite Chrome feature. The only issue with this extension is that you if you drag the tab too fast it won't maximize it. You'll get the feel for it once you try it a couple times. Otherwise it works great!

Thank you very much! I got this extension today 6/23/22 and tested several times; it's working great so far. I have google chrome "Version 103.0.5060.53 (Official Build) (64-bit)"... Will update if I have any issues. Google needs to fix/undo this change though. Also, bring back youtube dislike counter ffs.

works great on single tabs I've tested, using Slimjet & Windows 10 x64 Why are Chrome tabs no longer maximized when detached? This is a new behavior in Google Chrome, version 100.0.xxxx.xx and up. The latest versions of Chrome no longer remember the size of your current window when dragging a Chrome tab out of a maximized window. This in turn forces the new tab window to resize itself to the previously sized non-maximized, regular window. This forces you to maximize the new window manually which — we can attest to it! — is be quite a pain if you are a heavy user of Chrome.

The extension seems to work great when using it with a single tab. However, when selecting multiple tabs it does not work.

Thank god for you making this, I dunno why Google removed this function but it was driving me crazy, thank you so much.

Unfortunately it is not working for me. I usually use drag to new window for multiple tabs, and this extension does absolutely nothing for that. Thanks for trying though.

I'm sure this works well for others, but it has done absolutely nothing for me, even after restarting Google Chrome and my entire computer. I think perhaps it's because my computer is a Mac, so perhaps the extension doesn't have Mac compatibility – would love to be able to use this extension properly, so hopefully you can update it for Mac capacity soon!

2 stars given that this works for others, but for me it is totally nonfunctional. Holding the dragged tab for a few extra seconds doesn't work, unfortunately. Please update this - this feature is one of my most-used in Chrome!

This is such a blessing after Google decided to break something that worked just fine. The extension does exactly what it's supposed to and makes using Chrome quite a bit less frustrating. Thank you so much for making it!

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of tabs suddenly dragged out in error and were suddenly restored down. I fear something terrible has happened. - Obi-Wan Chromenobi

Work most of the time. It is true that if I hold on the tag a bit longer it will 100% work, but I personally find it a bit annoying to hold on the tag every time I drag. I hope there can be an option where it will automatically full screen all windows? Since I use Chrome full screen like... 99% of the time anyway. And leave it as an option so people can turn it off.

Thank you so much for this. Taking away maximize tab is one of the most annoying things they've done (along with getting rid of "search by image" context menu option). Chrome developers continue to break their browser. Every single update, they take away integral features and FORCE unproductive, terrible features that require 3 more steps and waste time. They need to get their heads out of the sand. It makes me want to stop using Chrome. Edit: This extension works half of the time, but the other half of the time, does not maximize the window :(

Grant Hall April 13th, 2022

Works great for a single tab. BUT, can you please make it so that when you dragged out multiple tabs (using shift key) it also maximizes? Old chrome used to do this as well.

Absolute legend for creating this! Can't believe they've removed the functionality as if nobody used it! It's really affected productivity for those that use multiple browser windows and a large number of tabs. But so glad you gave it back to us!

Great start. Thank you for making this extension. I've noticed that the extension works most of the time, however from time to time when I drag a tab out, the extension will fail to maximize it and just defaults to a standard window, not maximized. I think a change to the code, where instead of the test to check whether a window is maximized is ran just once, it is ran at least 8-10 times to make sure that the window is maximized. with at least a 40ms delay in between checks. This change would ensure with a 8-10 loop that the process is optimal and complete. I hope this helps the developer and the rest of us.

After Google removed this feature I thought something was wrong with my computer but quickly realized that all of my computers had been impaired in the same way. This fixes that particular impairment and I thank the author of this extension for bringing back some sanity to my workflow.
