Being in software for many many years and used various application, after so many years I found this app to be very useful. This is a great application however you need to first take lessons to learn and then try it. The documentation and videos are great. I used this from scrapping a very unorganised data and Zach help me to complete the recipe. Their customer support is great. Actually I do not mind paying a fee for the application even they refused to get them a cup of coffee also ! I suggest you choose this software now and enjoy the functionalities. Such a time waste. Most of the time didn't work and sometime it hang the browser, when I click on data minor icon. Its better to do everything manually. 110% Time Waste.

Data Miner did exactly what I needed it to. I actually needed some help - and instead of charging me or not helping, their team has office hours each week. Zach helped me and helped me solve my issue in less than 20 min with one-on-one help. I finished my project in the next hour with the help. Pricing was very reasonable as well. Give it a try.

It has made our lives so much easier, and when I couldn't work out how to configure one of the advance features the support team were quick to jump in with a solution. I tried some of the other google plugins, but this one is definitely the best

I have been using Dataminer since 2018. I was INCREDIBLY frustrated with the overhaul in version 5. I very, very much preferred version v3.299.72 because it was no frills, the point and click selection for recipes was simpler, there was no "this recipe does not work for this page" when I had literally just created a new recipe specifically for that page. I have no idea why everything that worked perfectly in the old version was gutted and made exceedingly inefficient. I was able to use v3.299.72 from the time of version 5's release until today (11/2/22). Unfortunately v3.299.72 stopped being able to connect to the server today and I can no longer install the old crx file due to an issue with chrome - ("CRX_HEADER_INVALID" when I try to install the package, and I am unable to find a source that lets me download the old crx file as a zip. I only need an extension that lets me select the containers in each row that need to be captured, and output it to an excel file, and v3 was perfect and fast for that. I could do this in one click and get on with my workload. Now I have to scroll through pages of recipes because there is no search box in the menu that pops up from the toolbar, I am only allowed to run a recipe if Dataminer thinks it will work for the page, I have to preview the data, I have to click run, I have to change a radio button to "append" if there are multiple pages instead of just clicking run again. What were the developers thinking??? V3 was something so beautifully simple, and v5 has missing functionality & way too many redundant, unnecessary options.

This service is phenomenal for data extraction and Zach was very helpful.

It took some time to figure out how Data Miner actually works, especially combining pagination and crawl scrape, but Zack has been the most helpful with everything - starting from technical advices and finishing with suggestions for best plan combination for huge volumes of historical data scrape. I've not felt for a minute that I'm alone with it, Zack is very quick and very speficic with all his responses, trying to help me out. I strongly recommend it, I really do! You just might have to do some testing and asking for some help, if there are some things that seem not to work as they should.

The fact that they have live office hours where they can help via screen share is amazing. This is IT customer service at it's pinnacle. Zach was very helpful. I like that he didn't do all the work for me but rather guided me through each step. That is key to learning new skills. Thanks for the great product and outstanding customer service.

Got it working super quickly. Scraped 10s of thousands of pages by now. Support is fast and helpful. Updates are regular, only downside is the extension and interface can bug out but that's less than 5% of the time I use it. 10 times better than any other tool I've used for this purpose.

Uused to be great. However this is no longer a free tool after it limited the url list scrape into only three web pages for the free version.

Depressed! Could you tell why there are so many limited sites? Is it Chrome's policy, or Data Miner's? I spent hours to get familiar with the app, and was told that I have to upgrade to scrape my target pages, and I am still not sure if Data Miner works or not on it.

Worked great for me. I didn't get next page automation to work at first, but technical support sent a video to show me how to do it on the site I was looking at. Good extension and support.

Shameful waste of time. like playing a riddle, no page tells which site cannot be scraped with free plan. I tried it on Indeed, Paypal(my own payment history) ,Craigslist and other 3 sites. It works only on Craigslist. Most of the recipes on public do not work or have little value. I do not know if you have reviewed such recipes before going public. It wastes more time... I like your clean UI. Hope to be better and would like come back to update the rating.

This is a review of their customer service. As easy as Data Miner is to use, I couldn't figure out how to get the information I needed off a Google Search. The team at Data Miner was quick to answer my question and produce a new public recipe for me. It solved 98% of my problem, which I consider pretty good. I highly recommend this app.

All of the five star reviews for this extension are fake and were from a company that is paid to give five star reviews. The extension doesn't work on any major social media sites, and it is flagged as malware by windows. Don't touch it.

I mainly wanted to mine data with image but it doesn't work with image which is useless

An excellent bit of software. If you have ever spend hours trying to copy & paste web data into Excel and then having to write time consuming formulas and macros to get the data into sensible rows then Data Miner is for you. You can easily create a Data Miner recipe to get all the data you need in the format you want it in. Some of the instructions are are little vague, especially when you need to extract data from HTML, but the email support from Customer Support Agents (special mention to Zach) is superb. Describe your problem and you will get a succinct and accurate instruction on exactly what to do probably within 24 hours. Get mining!

Very Intuitive to use. For more complicated pages being able to decipher the Page Source code is an advantage. But, not necessary as the Support Services for a FREE app is pretty awesome.

If you're using Zillow, it requires a paid subscription.

The free version is practically useless, unless you pay. They "upsell" you on everything. On top of all that, it's not easy to use. I do NOT recommend it. Avoid!

It was working perfectly not so long ago. Please return copy to clipboard option and make the extension easier to use. What took me 3 clicks to do , now takes 7 at least

It was working fine before January 2021. But from February, they updated it and now it's not wokring. Please, fix the issues. I can't scrape Gooogle My Business.

This might be the first extension I may actually buy (so far, only free stuff). I tried another one, just could not work it out. This one is easy. I am an impatient learner, so I wasted some free pages but in the end, I got very some 480 page of nice scraping, which will keep me busy for a while. Hopefully, I will try another one next month and see... Videos, etc. are very helpful.

The website says 500 credits for each month. But after the first month, the credit is always zero and push you to promote in each clickable linkes.... ugly. I will recommend Web Scraper, NoCoding Data Scraper, and Instant Data Scraper if the website does not declare its policy clearly.

Does not work at all. Stuck in a loop of asking me to sign even though I am signed in already.

If I were an expert already, I wouldn't need this tool. This is nearly impossible to use. In the time I spent trying to figure this out, I could have just cut and pasted the page I was trying to scrape.

They changed this app and made it extremely hard to use. I'll delete this review if they fix this or release a legacy version. Ridiculous. They moved the delete button to the main page (completely unnecessary). If you accidentally click it your entire work is gone. Wasted 45 minutes of my time.

Still does not work in the Brave browser. Works in Chrome and once you're past the learning curve it is a handy little tool

Used to work reliably, even if creating a "recipe" was like pulling teeth: once you got it right, you could rely on it. Now it takes forever to boot up, has extra steps, and will surprise you with doubling the information you scraped? Or giving you yesterday's scape along with today's, so you've got an old table piled on top of the information you want? And now it takes much longer to export the data? Why is every step in this update worse? I severely dislike this version. I got so frustrated that I've learned to do a few scrapes in Python. I feel like a good Chrome extension shouldn't be like this.

Works incredibly...a huge time saver for our company. Zach in customer support was fantastic in helping us create a custom recipe for that fit our needs. We had a few "tweaks" that needed made to the recipe after it was written...Zach and his team took care of it immediately, no questions asked. Great web scraper for tech-savvy folks. This one can be set to scrape the value of text, text nodes without siblings, and even the value of an attribute. Recognizes CSS4 selectors (such as :contains and :has), which the other scraper I'd been using does not, making some pretty difficult selections easy! I also greatly appreciate the ability to copy to the clipboard rather than export to a file. I would have rated it 5 stars, but for one bug that slows the process considerably: the Pagination scraping does not accept custom wait setting; you can change it, but it always changes back to 5 seconds between Next Page navigation, which when dealing with small (fast) pages, means a lot of wasted time. That's one of the basic functions, so is a major defect. There also seems to be no way to set up a column that can contain a value located outside the row selector. It would be useful to include in the dropdown an option to select an element outside of the row, such as a page title or category label, so it isn't necessary to manually add that when scraping multiple pages of distinct content that will be merged (but must remain identifiable).

I am a non-technical small business owner and I love data-miner. The product is very flexible and I use it to scrape several different websites. If I can't get a recipe to work, Data-miner's free office hours support is fantastic. I have used their free office hours several times and they were able to fix each of my recipes.

Awesome! That is it. I would say it took a little work at first but I have been able to obtain the data I want for my business quickly and unbelievable easily. This is opening up all kinds of avenues to help our marketing team, sales team, and our data management team work more effectively. Plus, the support is incredible. I was on the free version and wanted to prove that it worked. Went to the open office hours on the web and in less than a minute I was talking with a support rep who helped me in less than 5 minutes. Based on the support alone I am a paid subscriber. Within a day of using it I am now on the Enterprise Plan.

You would use this extension in order to save time, right? But it's interface is so complex that it actually wastes a lot of time. Here are the top pain points with this extension: 1) It uses JQuery selectors. - very few people use that. You need to learn JQuery selectors to use this. XPath would have been a better choice. 2) Extracting - let's say you want to extract URL / Text. I've fiddled around with this tool at various occasions and it's extremely difficult to define what exactly you want to extract. is it in the columns field? Or while selecting rows? Or some other place? I've tried columns and it keeps extracting from page#1 while pagination has scrolled to page# 10. 3) You spend about 20 minutes of the time trying to configure the script than actually extracting data. In that much time I could have just extracted the data on my own. This addon's idea is very good. but the UI is horrible and the JQuery selectors are a poor design choice.

Initially took a bit of time to get a hold of how the tool works. When the initial learning is done, the process is fairly simple and quick. The tool works really well and I am able to scrape the required data in no time. This is the first web scraping tool I have ever used and it is really good.

Very intuitive tool and very extensible through custom JavaScript. Perfect for scraping one or a thousand pages or site.

The experience with Data Miner is absolutely great! Zach has done a wonderful job in introducing the processes, answered all questions I had, and jumped on Go-to meetings as I requested. The website content is also very helpful, the app plug in has good UI, easy to use. I highly recommend their service!

Great product, works well. You do have to play with it because every website is built differently. But once you understand how it works, its easy breezy from there. I highly recommend watching the tutorial first, don't try to wing it!

Misleading description. It's stated that free version has only 500-page limitation but after installation it's turned out that it doesn't work for the popular websites like Zillow so you can't completely check the data execration quality. It should have been clearly mentioned in description.

Would not bother. Can barely perform the most trivial tasks. In order to anything useful, you have to pay for a plan, and if you do, the rate limits are laughably bad. Worse, the jobs always get stuck (even with the advice) and have to be rerun several times. Be lucky if you just waste an hour unnecessarily on this and pay $20 to scrape a tenth of a site. Decent and reactive support.

A really simple but powerful tool for marketers looking to prospect and generate leads. Combine a great product with superb customer service (prompt and helpful) and you have a great combination!

Perfect App. I've given these guys a lot of my money. the GUI of this scraper is top notch and the owners of the company have really amazing customer service.

I used the service for a little over a year and it proved to be invaluable and freed up so much of my time that had otherwise been spent manually importing data every day. I did actually use it for the opposite of what it is built for - to upload data into a database via a webform - but the team were able to quickly build a custom solution for this and the support was excellent and fast. Highly recommend.

Great tool! I've tried a couple other tools like Octoparse. This is WAY easier. It doesn't handle the most difficult cases, but I've found nothing that does. DataMiner is one of the easier to use and still very powerful. Great support too!

Very easy to use, but with a lot of flexibility as you dig deeper. Paid plan needed for serious work, but the support was far better than I'd expected and saved me having to find a developer for a task I was working on.

doesnt let you do certain sites and is not clear about that from get go

looks good on the outset. But once you install it on chrome you got to sign in. Even once you are signed in on chrome you cannot sign into this program as google flag it up as unusual activity and asks you tap a code into samsung nexus which i dont have and to get the verification code. A pity you cannot register an account direct with data miner without having to use google to sign in. Webscraper.io beats this one by a long chalk simply due to its ease of getting started.

Great tool but with some disappointments (at least for me): – You cannot export/import recipes. – Pricing is a bit of rip off. They charge per number of pages scraped, but everything the extension do is done on my machine, so I don't quite understand.

Simply the best data scraper available. I've tried several apps and this is the most powerful and user friendly one of them all. In addition to a great feature set they also have a fantastic customer support team. They were able to answer my questions and point me in the right direction when I was struggling with a complex scrape.
