This extension started making life heck for me in the late fall. It manifested itself by causing my labels to disappear after login. I would see them for a few seconds (after login and after reload), then they'd "blink out", leaving an empty column where my labels should be. I'd uninstalled & reinstalled Chrome a couple of times, including manually removing cached files in a few different places on disc, but the behavior persisted. Finally I removed ALL of my extensions, and started re-adding them, luckily wiht this one first. Once it was installed, the behavior returned immediately, so BINGO. DON'T install this if you like seeing your labels!!

Used to work perfectly, but now doesn't function at all with the new update unfortunately. I wish Google would just implement this feature natively.

Useless...no longer works - at all

This used to work perfectly. Suddenly, a couple of weeks ago, it stopped working. I tried removing the extension and adding it back, but that didn't help. Please fix it and I'll update my review!

Doesn't work at all. Used to, but Gmail changed and now it doesn't work.

It stopped working and I can no longer resize columns. I can no longer add sub-labels or do much with labels, as I can't resize the column to get to the 3 dots for the options. I tried re-installing etc, updating the browser etc. The extension is enabled won't work. There's no resize bar anymore. Sigh sigh sigh

Doesn't work

The extension only allowed the Labels column to expand instead of making it more narrow, and does not resize any of the other columns. After awhile, it stopped working altogether.

It doesn't do anything at all. I can see the dotted line, and I can move it around, but the side panel doesn't change at all. Completely useless.

You have to reload the gmail after adding it. Love it!

I have installed and I am still unable to resize the label column.

Just what I was looking for...I have lots of sublabels, and couldn't see enough of the text to know which sublabel I was navigating to!

Slammed my labels column SHUT...and won't slide open! Really? I read a lot of the reviews, tried resetting the zoom to 100 as suggested, nothing worked. This add-on not only didn't do what I expected, but seriously interfered with functionality. Worse than useless. Had to disable.

Nice job indeed and it allowed me to see all of text on the left. However, it would be great if other columns could be resized as well

Downloaded this addon because I wanted to make the sidebar smaller. Unfortunately this only lets you make it bigger.

I wish oh wish this would have worked! I resized my view to 100% but that didn't help. I really hate that Gmail vertical split columns are too wide and not responsive to screen size, and I thought at last I had found a fix. I'm on a Macbook laptop, so maybe it only works for Windows?

This would bre great extension but it does not work. Does not resize. Maybe it needs to be revisited after google gmail apearance changes.

"Hate" is a strong word. But right now this extension only allows me to make the sidebar LARGER, when (of course) I want to make it smaller. If this gets fixed, I'll gladly revisit my score.

THIS EXTENSION SUCKS. GMAIL, YOU ARE LIGHT YEARS BEHIND OUTLOOK AND OTHER EMAIL SOFTWARES. FOR A TECH COMPANY, THIS IS EMBARASSING THAT YOU ARE SO BAD AT EMAIL. FIGURE IT OUT.

Have used this for YEARS but not working on my MAC gmail at the moment.. Disappointing becuase Google doesn't provide this simple required task and everytime they update it must cause trouble for this extension.

I'd be amazing to make a version for Inbox by Google too!

This utility works great, however it needs to be updated to work with the new GMail interface, as it does not at this moment!

Very thankful that this extension exists. Without it, Google gmail is worthless to me since I like to store things in sub-labeled folders. Yeah, it's a little quirky, and has to be resized occasionally. BUT, this functionality should be native to gmail, and not even require an extension.

Thank you for this very useful little tweak. It is unbelievable that Google still has not added this setting. Could you also create this tweak for google Inbox ? Labels are simply useless because unreadable.It is the only reason why i do not use Inbox. Tx again.

Is your Gmail screen to the right going blank every time you use the Label resizer? THIS FIX WORKED FOR ME: FIRST, Set your ZOOM (in the Chrome Browser drop down menu at top right of screen) to 100%, No more, No Less! Apparently this extension doesn't play nice if you change Chrome view from the default 100% zoom setting. That said, the Label resizer extension is so handy that I can live with this workaround. Thx.

corrupted my Gmail layout; things disppeared; had to stop using after I narrowed down this Extension as the cause; worked great for about a week, then, boom!

Resizes Label Pane ok but causes other bugs. All of my Labels (mailboxes) are empty, even my inbox, unless I refresh. But if I click anywhere in the label field, all boxes are empty again until I hit refresh again. Too much work. Uninstalling

It resizes the label bar but then you lose the ability to see any emails! They just fall off the page! USELESS!

This functionality should be already part of Gmail. This extension has not been maintained in sometime which worries me. It does do what it advertises, just don't completely try to remove the left sidebar. Closing and reopening the page fixes most issues.

Worked great until an update in either Gmail or Chrome caused it to crash. Unfortunately does not seem to maintained any more so is basically useless at this point in time. Pity.

Wish Gmail had this built-in functionality. Love this little gadget. It doesn't behave perfectly, I often get an error but refreshing the page sometimes fixes the error.

Why is this not a standard google feature?? Not sure I like giving permission to read my mail though, but it's probably innocent??

My labels were getting too long, this extension saved the day. Simple as that.

More than a year using Gmail and even Google could not sort this. Thank god we have this issue sorted out, this guy should be working for Google instead :)

Was working well and then all my email started vanishing each time i touch the resize bar. Great idea, need this, but it doesn't work for me. Work-around- Found that if I use the "right-side-chat Gmail Lab" it is working again. I hope it stays.

Great idea, did not work for me. When I tried to enlarge the label column, all of the email disappeared from the screen.

when it is working, it's a must extension for everyone using nested labels. changing from 5 to 2 stars. with latest version of chrome causes issues rendering gmail on osx when chrome window size maximized to fit screen size, rendering it not usable for me.

Would be great if this extension allows users to change the location (position) of the columns as well.

This is an amazingly helpful and simple app. As a someone that uses labels extensively, I was always frustrated that you could only read the first word only (even on my 27-inch monitor). Problem solved.

So handy! I used the "bookmarklet" method prior and this works a lot better, plus much easier!

Um, why isn't this receiving rave reviews? I can now see my nested labels!! We are moving from Microsoft Exchange to Google Apps and we have a department that must have a lot of nested labels, this is going to help big time!
