I was looking for a way to use the middle click to scroll behavior from Windows on a Linux machine and this works exactly the way I expected. Great extension.
Only extension allowing me to vary the scrolling speed dynamically. The only problem is that somehow it does not register middle clicks of my mouse.
Now my Macbook M1 Ventura has middle-button scrolling, thanks to you!
it is really work for me on windows 10 thank you so much
Works very well . Thank you.
I really liked this extension at first, I was coming from windows to mac and the ability to autoscroll again was nice. However I've noticed a bug; on some webpages, after using the autoscroll feature and exiting (by clicking the mouse or scroll wheel) the scroll will jump about an inch further in the direction of scrolling. This bug is pretty jarring due to it's unpredictable nature; I couldn't find anything about it in the options or other reviews, if anyone knows a fix I'd be very appreciative.
I came to Chrome from Firefox and hated how ugly is standard autoscroll is. Thanks to this extension it becomes even better than in Firefox because it has wonderful settings for the scroll sensivity. Absolutely must have.
Worked perfectly on my Macbook once I figured out how to use it.
stopeed working on ubuntu 20.04
doesn't work on discord on chrome was hoping for something to take me to the top of a discord channel without spending hours scrolling
Stop using an Autoscroll extension on chromium based browsers on Linux or macOS Add this flag to your browser instead: --enable-blink-features=MiddleClickAutoscroll Why? 1. Removes the need of an extension 2. Provides more performance
finally working in linux
It works without a problem under ChromeOS / Chromebook. (I was a bit surprised that AutoScroll is not natively integrated in Chrome browser, under ChromeOS.) Thank you very much dear developer!
doesn't work on all page (im looking at you, this exact page we're on right now) but works on most other pages. hopefully they change the functionality of middle mouse when you have a browser open to do fast scroll instead of having a second way to paste or atleast an option in the menus to enable that
It works on my 2020 iMac with 3rd party mouse. It doesn't work on this chrome page now, but it works on YouTube and other pages. I'm so glad I've found this!
Doesnt work.
Doesn't working❗
work perfectly for me linuxmint 20.3 cinnamon
Wow, so simple yet so powerful. Took me a little while to figure out what the settings meant and <5 px, >5 px, 20 spd seems to emulate the autoscroll I'm used to in Vivaldi @ Win10 while I'm currently on Vivaldi @ Linux. 5/5 - It just works. Todd Howard would be proud.
pretty nice!
Does not work. Totally useless
Make sure you RTFM before you jump to conclusions. It works for me. Running Linux Mint.
Scrolling is stuttering, specifically on Amazon.com. This happens on all computers with this extension. Does not do it without it.
I love this add on! It moves the screen up, down and sideways hands free at whatever speed I want! I use it with a trackball mouse and once the middle button is pushed and the little screen icon pops up, screen travel can then be controlled by just a slight movement of the track ball. I use it in Linux Mint. I don’t know why Chrome didn’t have something like this as a basic setting in their browser like FireFox.
Very easy to use and stable....
I love this extension, but still have trouble getting it to work in reader mode.
Works for me on Mac. Just make sure to fully restart Chrome. Cmd + left click on the page and drag to start scrolling. Change the speed number in setting to adjust the speed.
Perfect extension. Returned middle click scrolling on my M1 Macbook, just like Windows.
Now in the middle of 2021, this is by far the best middle click scroll application I've tested. Most of the chrome extensions here auto scrolls only; one I've tested has a nifty feature which grabs the screen like in touch screens, but this is the one I need. --Similar behavior in windows. I'm in Garuda Linux using Microsoft Chrome Dev, by the way. Wish this appeared on the top search list. Thank you, Dev!
As a disabled person who's not able to use the scroll wheel/middle button, this extension allows me to scroll by just pressing ctrl + left click.
Should be stock in chrome for linux, still nice to have though.
I finally made it work. Update options: If moving less than [100] pixels. Hold down the middle mouse button and move down (at least half of the screen). Release the button. It will automatically scroll down.
does not work macosx
Works So Well That I Forget It Is Not In Built
Works on Chrome on Ubuntu 20.04!
Does what it is supposed to do, odd this isn't a native option in Ubuntu/Gnome
very good but no scrolling speed settings, this feels slow coming from a windows user, please give the option to adjust scroll speed...
For everyone that thinks this does not work, it worked by me at youtube.com, try it out yourself and see that it will probaly work when you press middle mouse button left to the search bar. but it goes very very fast, i wanted to read an online e book but it goes way to fast
Works great! Thanks a lot for doing this, it helped me to change from Windows to MacBook!
Thank you! Works great and makes it easier to read comic/manga online!
Thanks! Working on Mac 10.15.4 (Catalina) with Chrome 87. Had to restart Chrome. It doesn't work in the Chrome web store but seems to work on all other sites.
works perfectly now! for some reason it didnt work right after i restarted chrome.. had to wait a few hours before it kicked in..working now though
Even after restarting my computer, clicking on it does nothing. Though, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right sooo...
i tried clicking on it but it kept bringing me to the add extention link
doesn't work at all
It's 100% functional on almost all pages! Great extension!
this thing is soooooo helpful i like it, it's just really slow
I could kiss you. This is magic where can I donate
Perfect replacement for auto scroll on Linux! Had to disable Ctrl+Click though as it was overriding Ctrl+Click behaviour in some cases such as Figma's layers panel.
Great extension. Works well on MacOS (where there is no native autoscroll). It's very nice that you can change the speed in settings.
cant adjust speed
Works on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS after restart of chrome. It doesn't work on the web store, though.
It didn't work :(
doesn't work in 2020
Should be built into Chrome.
not working
Well, it works with Google Chrome under GNU/Linux like Arch, Fedora, SUSE, Debian,... As well as on MacOS and CloudReady (Chromium OS). Thank you very much !!! It is an essential extension that should be implemented by Google by default! ;-)
Some heroes don't wear capes.
Great extension - thanks! I personally initiate it with: Ctrl + Left Mouse Click(Touchpad tap)
Doesn't work with current MacOS. Tried all instructions. Deleted!
It does nothing. When I click on it, it takes me to this page.
Works as described. I finally have auto scrolling in Linux working beautifully. Auto scrolling isn't something I have missed much but it's handy at times. For all those people who say it doesn't work remember to restart Chrome after installing it. Then just middle mouse click anywhere on a page, the AutoScroll icon appears where you clicked then release the mouse button and move the mouse up/down to scroll. Simple.
Either it doesn't work or instruction are unclear (I have restarted / refreshed)
I believe this extensions has started crashing with a recent Chrome update. Sometimes when scrolling a lot on a single page my scroll wheel will stop working but only for that tab. If I refresh the tab I can start scrolling again. It's happened on a variety of pages.
Really good extension, but I want it to be customizable, for example the dead zone, sensitivity, maximum speed, etc. Edit: wow, I didn't know I can right-click on the icon and change all that things. THAT'S 12/10 EXTENSION RIGHT THERE
Works on Windows! Thank you devs.
Does exactly what I want. Took a little bit to get it working correctly on Brave but once it started working it works as you would expect it to on Windows. Helpful thread for tweaking xinput settings, may or may not be helpful for getting this extension to work on Brave. https://askubuntu.com/questions/28150/chrome-chromium-middle-mouse-button-for-scroll-linux-mac
Works perfectly in Google Chrome on Linux! You'd think that Google would have this feature by now for us.
This is the BEST extension on the store if you're looking for something to alleviate your frustration with either a bad trackpad/touchpad or a bad mouse scroll wheel. All you have to do is hold ctrl (short for the control key on your keyboard) then hold the left mouse button and drag up or down. This extension feels so authentic. It works as good as, if not better, than standard Windows computer. Good job developer!
Horizontal scroll does not work, making this useless for me.
At first I thought it didn't work, but it turns out I had just run into the two situations where it does NOT work (that are clearly identified in the instructions). You HAVE to restart chrome after you install it, and it doesn't work on the google chrome store (so these reviews don't autoscroll, etc). Once you're on a normal site though it works fine. Using it on Kubuntu 18.10
It's working for me! Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) MAC (High Sierra) 10.13.6 Thanks ?
Does not work. useless
Works on Chrome (Linux), so five stars for that. On Brave, however, I could not get this to work yet.
it doesn't work, the icon shows up and when you click it, it tells you to use it you must use ctrl+left click but that does nothing.
Thanks. Simple and gets the job done.
Doesn't work at all.
Doesn't work at all
Didn't do anything that I could see that wasn't already there, built into Chrome.
This extension is amazing, and has always worked great, but I've noticed that it sometimes shakes the screen. It varies depending on the site. I have to use the Simple Auto Scroll extension if I want to avoid the shaking. There's no mouse control in Simple Auto, but it's 3 customizable levels, and it's steady.
Use this all the time (MacOS), it's great. Wish I understood what minimum requirements are necessary for it to work on a given page; I would make my own quick html files and throw them in the browser for comfy scrolling. No luck yet...
Replicates the native behavior from Windows perfectly
no working
didnt work on my macbook on tumblr
If you are planning to use for music, the slowest is way to fast.
Works great! Keep in mind you need a mouse with a middle-click button! Also refresh all your pages/restart browser before it starts. Right clicking the icon in the extensions bar gives you great scrolling options. Works on opera/opera beta and MacOS. Not sure if it works in linux.
Doesn't work!!!
I needed to find the first follower of a celebrity, it worked great for a very long page that I had to get to the bottom of! Thank you Kaescripts!
Works perfectly.
dont work
Saves me a lot of time, thank you!
AMAZING, THANK YOU!!!
I am using Fedora. It works. But I did not understand why I can't operate scrolling in Linux spontaneously.
I was going nuts try to get my Logitech USB two button mouse with scroll wheel to work on macOS Sierra. Worked perfectly for me -- precisely what I was looking for. Yay for AutoScroll!
Loved it
Much better than Chrome's standard autoscroll. No abrupt speed changes, doesn't stop scrolling when mouse leaves the page area, supports holding the key. I've modified it locally to have x^2 speed function instead of linear.
i really like it, NO high Cpu usage.
Love it!
Works as expected.
I works...
Does what it's supposed to. Speed can be modified in the extension paramaters, which is definitely a pro.
Thank you so much.
Love it - so helpful.
Does not work, clicking on the icon in the browser just brings up a popup that does nothing. Useless.
