Being available used to mean giving people my personal number and then changing it every so many months because too many people i wasn't acquiantanced with would be blowing me up. Having the 2nd line and having it shoot to my email not only means my number stays private but my phone isn't ringing either and it's amazing.
I'm a telemedicine physician that wants to be able to be reachable to my patients without being bothered. Patients can ask me for RXs on the Gmail line and I can get back to them easily via SMS without them having my personal number and calling me out of the blue. It's very appreciated on my end.
Having a 2nd number is great for privacy's sake and forwarding the messages to an email address keeps my phone from blowing up with texts. Useful and smart!

It would be a nice touch if the message service was a personal message instead of just "lave a message" I'm also have an issue with the `Phone' button not being on my compose email screen???

It's interesting how this is laid out: you receive all correspondence through Gmail. Honestly it's extremely convenient, and you can have all of your messages waiting for you, rather than being bothered constantly.
I don't like taking calls, this has been perfect...the price is super reasonable too. My emails go out just as if I was SMS texting
