Works perfectly, cuts CPU usage down to ~2/3. Highly recommended if you could use a bit more performance at the cost of a near-unnoticeable quality hit.

I finally can watch YouTube without burning my computer. Thank you so much! The temperature of the cpu got much lower with this extension installed (from 85+ to 70)

Love this extension. My pc isnt slow, but its sure getting old and cant handle the new codecs very well. However, I would love it if this extension also worked on Google Meet.

It works: doesn't prohibit 4K or 60fps video streams like h264ify and decreases CPU use vs av01. For some reason the Chrome flag at chrome://flags/#enable-av1-decoder appears to have been removed or is missing for me and the setting "Prefer AV1 for SD" at https://www.youtube.com/account_playback under "AV1 settings" is not persistent and automatically reverts to "Auto (recommended)" after a few sessions. I had no other way to disable av01 in favour of vp09. Thank you.

unfortunately, h264ify does not work anymore. I have to use this instead. I'm recommending this it even has more options.

Right now, it's the only way I can block AV1. Thanks!

A great upgrade to h264ify. Only possible improvement is the ability to block certain audio codecs. As is it lets you block any of youtube's many formats, lets you block 60fps, and lets you disable sound normalization. It'll always use the best quality audio like opus, though (This isn't a bad thing, though. Just something I want to fiddle with. Youtube offers opus, vorbis, and mp4 these days). Great improvement/replacement for h264ify for chrome.

The extension also be able to disable loudness normalization.
