This makes Youtube look more boring to look at, just as I wanted it. Now I spend way less time on the site and just watch the videos that I actually went to Youtube for. No more getting distracted by loud thumbnails and titles. One thing though: please add option to ignore upcoming livestreams/premieres when replacing thumbnails. I personally find its current placeholder thumbnail (dark grey box with three dots) a bit more attention-grabbing than leaving it untouched like with ongoing livestreams/premieres.

Absolutely Phenomenal

This is a must-have extension. Trying to go back to watching YouTube without it makes me severely depressed.

Its a great extension to keep you on what you actually want to watch instead of hatewatching something because of clickbait. however.. there is one problem. On this very page if you scroll to the end you see a image so terrifying.... Its multiple thumbnails of Morgz and his family death staring the camera as they normally do.

Works exactly as expected but the thumbnail bit does not appear to work on livestreams

This simple, yet effectual extension has single-handedly changed my life. I was just like everyone else, a couch and chair potato who would over stimulate themselves for hours a day, wasting weeks, months, even years on an app like youtube. It was like a trap, set by the many youtube creators to keep us in this cycle of spending more time on youtube and social media than having a quality experience in real life. Many people, including I, fell victim to this. The thoughtful creators have analyzed every single pixel to see what can get viewer's attention the most. But, only a few are able to escape this loop. It is once you realize that the clickbaity thumbnails and titles are what draws your attention, that you know you need to take action. Thankfully, this beautifully made extension exists. No one finds this extension, the extension finds you. Only when you are worthy enough. After being a Clickbait Remover for Youtube Enthusiast, I have noticed significant changes in my life such as my: Social Skills, Mental Strength, Physique, Health, and much much more. I am no longer the loser I once was, watching Youtube Videos for 6 hours a day. I have now reached the level where you open YouTube knowing exactly what need to watch (a skill that is nearly impossible for many). Never in my entire life have I thought that downloading a simple extension will drastically shape who I am today. Good start but it can go further. Titles that contain the word "this" should be changed to "clickbait" or something like that.

This addon is perfect. Click install, refresh page, BOOM, all clickbait is gone in both the title and the thumbnail! It even works in the suggested video feed on the side too. Finally, I can at a glance see what a video is ACTUALLY about.

I love the idea of this extension, the only problem I have is that it modifies ALL channels. I think an option to remove clickbait from certain channels (like Linus Tech Tips) but to leave other less-clickbaity channels (like Whang!) alone would be an amazing addition.

I've been spending less time on youtube thanks to this extension. Love it!

Do yourself a favor and install this now. Definitely improves YouTube viewing experience. It brings back some of those info that was replaced with misinformation when YouTube removed the official Dislike function (there's a separate extension for that as well!).

An almost essential mod for chrome/youtube. No more ridiculous youtube clickbait faces. I love it.

Makes Youtube INFINITELY More Pleasant! No more booty pics or other suggestive material shoved in my face as I browse my home feed. I don't even watch this stuff!!!!!.. on youtube.. :) No more guessing games over whether the thumbnail is an accurate representation of the video. It rarely actually is. No more clever title capitalization meant to grab my attention towards keywords like a toddler with something shiny in their face. Just browse with no minimal pressure and enjoy Youtube for what it USED to be. Honestly, I need as little 'suggestive' thumbnails in my life as possible reminding me that my browser has a 'private browsing' feature. I'm tired of the dishonest clickbait and clever tricks to make my eyes pop out of their heads. My mind was literally on overload which prompted me to even come here. As soon as I enabled this addon, I felt the difference. I felt the sense of relief at uniformly titled videos without tailor made thumbnails. And now I don't dread exploring my recommendations.

Amazing, it makes the YouTube browsing experience so much better! No distractions, no cringe thumbnails, no clickbait, just the videos as they actually are. Combined with the "Return YouTube Dislike" extension, this is YouTube the way it should've been. Kudos to the developer!

Amazing plug-in. I'm unsure why so many videos on YouTube, especially music videos, seem to require semi-pornographic thumbnails for otherwise very normal and above board content, but now I don't have to care as they're all blocked and a more representative thumbnail displayed instead. Great work!

What is the point? A rating preview extension is much more useful. Authors put a lot of effort choosing the thumbnail, and usually provide a good hint what the focus of the video is. If you feel "click-baited", you were probably just cyberslacking anyway.

Excellent extension! Can you add a feature that removes all ['?', '!', '.'] at the end of video titles? I notice those clickbaity-titles still really pop out.

One of the best simple extensions out there. Been using it for at least a couple years, and probably will never stop using.

makes youtube bearable

I like this extension a lot. A nice feature would be a small button under the "Watch later" and "Add to queue" buttons that shows the original thumbnail if you hover your mouse over it.

Great extension, finally I can remove abig part of the annoyinh things on youtube. One minor fix though; when chosing "capital words" the same stops working when it identifies commas or parenthesis and I supposes others... would be great to let us choose when it stops capitalizing words.

Holyyyy cow. Works amazingly on Edge through chrome web store. I love the fact that it also includes modification of titles, because I didn't realize that titles can ALSO be clickbated through caps!!

This is an extension that I didn't know I want but need anyway. This makes YouTube more bearable. Saves me time and data from unnecessarily clicking on the clickbaity videos. Now they no longer mess up with my watch history.

A GREAT extension for YouTube!!!

It's amazing how much of a difference this makes. I was a little worried this extension might incur some overhead since the simplest of implementations might make additional network requests for the alternate thumbnail images. However, a quick glance at the source code shows that it actually intercepts the original thumbnail requests and reroutes them to the alternate thumbnails before the browser actually sends the requests over the network. This is some excellent work!
