For the most part this doesn't work but I appreciate the effort made by the author. I hope a competitor comes along that has downvotes and eats Disqus and Facebook for lunch. To BlueNinja, you may have missed where I said "For the most part it doesn't work". Regardless since almost no one bothers downvoting because its not visible unless someone knows about this obscure Chrome extension. No way to do this with Firefox or Edge or IE.
This is really useful for us chat mods. We don't need to read the content of a message just to know that it's bad. It's really useful

It doesn't work. Every single downvote button still is grayed out on every article I've looked at to test this, so either the internet is a lot more civil than I realize, or this isn't showing the downvote counts.

Installed to say "thanks". Didn't realize that you can actually see the total of down-votes using Inspect Element.
