A LOT IS BROKEN... BUT IT'S STILL AMAZING. This project has been abandoned for a few years now but as of May, 2nd 2018 It still works with the latest version of Chrome. Fore new users: DISABLE TILE ANIMATIONS. If you see that your tiles don't work this is why. Also, you cannot Save or Restore your settings anymore. My advise is to do what I did: Take screenshots of your layout and create a document (I used Google Docs) with a list of your tiles with their links and links to their custom icons. I use custom tile icons either from Google Images or from a Blogger page I created with all the images. LASTLY... Can't anyone reverse-engineer this thing? No one has come even close to creating an equivalent or better alternative to this. It's so sad and frustrating.
GREAT BUT NEEDS AN UPDATE. Some things could be easier and I can't backup my settings.

This extension, although it takes a long time not to work, has worked well on a laptop until recently, which has gradually stopped working the links (tides) and otas functions and for more that I create the links, they do not work. I have a couple of machines where it is installed and in all happens the same, the links do not link. It's a shame. I need to change the extension.
An exceptionally attractive, useful and easy to customize replacement for chrome's new tab and bookmarks. Unfortunately, the developer appears to have abandoned it and many features no longer functions as intended.
It was ok, but when i clicked apps in the new tab, it just freezes and puts a screen with the same app icon.
yup now i am fully satisfied its updated and it was fully fixed and the legend of new tab is back

It is not working anymore. The links do not open. The export/import is not functioning anymore as well. The UI works, but that is all. To open your links, the only way is to ctrl+click. Was a must-have addon. Now it is garbage. So far, no fix to be found.
I use to loe this extension but recently ll my links haven't been working. I've checked that they are all there. There's no hope for any fix. Do not install this app after July 2017. It no longer works.
UI is really cool. Got the smartest functionality to match the color and scale of logos for the dials among all the new tab extensions I've ever seen. I would say it's my favourite if the import/export function is working, but unfortunately, that's not true. It's such a pitty to see they stopped maintenance.

Why did it take me so long to find this? Unfortunately, it looks like the dev hasn't updated it in a couple of years but it's still working beautifully. I only wish I can export my tabs so I can make all my computers the same. Best new tab extension!

My favorite "new tab" extension. I love the look and the customization options. Unfortunately, the software hasn't been updated for over two years and it seems support has stopped. The developer's Twitter and Facebook are dusty and forgotten. This is a bummer because the import/export features no longer work and there's no hope for an update in the future to fix this. So I live in fear that all the work I've put into customizing this can easily be lost.
As user of several PCs - I love tiles as new tab, my quickbar is full of important bookmarks. Main problem with this extension, why i make low rating - Author doesn't care about tons of reports to fix Export function. It's already like 2 months and no answer at all.

The import/export settings is not functioning. It is also annoying that the tiles get all scrambled when I change screen size (moving from my laptop to docking station with dual monitors).
It was great until it recently stopped allowing you to export your config to use with other computers. If they fix that, it's a strong 4.5 start extension!
Lots of bugs. Can't export settings in the latest version of chrome.
Been using this for several years now and still the best. Every now and then I try an alternative only to keep using this one.
Loved it before it was sold to new team. Since then it is simply a sieve leaking my information to the highest bidder.

Everything is good except the animations for clicking icons. They look fantastic but while turned on they won't take you to the page. Awesome app. I'd give five stars and pay if that function worked as intended. Great extension.
I put the tiles in the order i want them and delete the ones i don't want.The tiles move around and the ones i deleted reapppear.I'm taking it off my pc because i like things to stay where i put them.
it`s useful
when i click on tiles, it takes me to a blank screen, and it is impossible to uninstall. nice design, but inconvenient and annoying.

This is a Great extension but when ever i try to open youtube or any other video app, it wont start it up.

Amazing
There is only one issue with my experience... The links go to a blank screen with the color and logo of a tile, and then it goes to the website... The problem is that it gets stuck on blank page. The only way to continue is to reload the page and then middle click the link instead. This wasn't an issue earlier, but after reinstalling windows this problem came up... It's still better than the official new tab, but it's a bit annoying.
This is an otherwise very good extension but every now and then it changes my Amazon bookmark to redirect to Amazon using a referral. It keeps happening every so often. The extension also keeps adding tabs to my settings (default tabs) even after being deleted. I am looking for an alternative and will no longer be using this extension.

The very first time it happened, I thought it might have been my mistake, but it keeps happening. It doesn't happen to my actual bookmarks, only the ones that are on new metroTab. I consider this to be a very deceptive practice and will no longer be using this extension.
Very Beautyful Tab! But Size is affected by Browser-options-zoom. I hope size is fixed. For example foxtab-speed-dail is unaffected by Zoom.
Keeps all of my most commonly used websites organized and immediately available.

really nice tab launcher, but not always works properly. Sometimes I click on bookmark and it doesn't load the site it should transfer me..
Good extension but; 1. hard to customise 2. Has quirks on the live tiles, i.e., can't set weather location on live tile but can on click. 3. doesn't re-size. 4. Very US-biased, so requires customising outside of US.

Would really like to see a micro tile size introduced, a quarter the size of the normal tile, so that one can fit a lot more links onto the screen at any one time. This would be a huge help. Great app.

Its a great new tab redesign but the thing is when your changing the colour schemes of the tab the colours are like dark or end up dark

Very well written. Would like to see seamless sync across computers using the google cloud. Importing settings does not restore the tiles back to the way they were.
looks great, but whenever i click on something, like facebook, it just brings up a blue page with the facebook logo. i have only managed to get 1 to work, and it was tumblr, which i don't need. would be more than happy to rate 5 stars if you get this to work.

Don't work with Chrome at OS X 10.9.5. Everything strarting well, but after click on thumb i can see only empty screen with logo from thumb.
It works great but not with windows 8 google chrome app at all.

Very nice! I noticed a small bug: sometimes, when I click a tile, it remains stuck on the splash screen and doesn't load the page. It seems to happen randomly.
Amazing Idea
Aside from a couple of usability issues, this extension is great. I have been using this for several months. I have it setup on every computer I come in contact with.

Very good plugin to organise regularly visited websites as well as quick viewing of RSS feeds. Unfortunately let down by your tabs, tiles and settings are not stored in the cloud so that you can't have the same setup on multiple machines.
Very good, but annoying when you import YOUR settings, you get a whole bunch of crap you did not have before, presumably the developer of this addon it getting some money for adding certain tiles to every user-backed-up configuration file.

Pretty good...has potential, but still has annoying quirks. The worst one, for me, is that the icons do not stay in the same place when the browser is re-sized. That means the user has to search for the icon needed, instead of being able to memorize it's position and know it will be there every time. That is a huge timer-waster, because apps are supposed to increase productivity, not slow it down. Update: After using the app in Win7 for a bit longer, it has been crashing the chrome browser. Seems to happen when I scroll thru the icons. App still needs a lot of work.
This is really cool, I do like the metro interface on windows 8.1, but its more or less in the way, can't multi-task much with it. With this metro app on chrome its just so much more useful!
