Really helpful.
Great extension to play with CSS on pages. Having a mandatory log in is a bit of a bummer, although it does offer a lot of advantages if you are into the extension.
requires logging in
Get the power of User Agent CSS editing back for Chrome. Hide Google Ads, change the size of elements on your favorite websites, and make it permanent, in Chrome. This is a must-have extension.
Thx! Help me a lot
logs you out sometimes and you have to relogin so that the styles work. apart from that i really like it
Is there ever a day this extension will not ask me to log in? Please, I see you guys respond to comments here. I'm on version 3.1.5 and got the extension from chrome webstore (but using the edge browser). It constantly logs me out and makes me log back in every time. I dont know why you guys decided to add accounts but logging in everytime makes the extension painful to use. And for the love of god please add support for regex so I can decide which urls the styles will apply to. Please. Regards
When the extension works, it's great, but my experience since they've required an account has been subpar. The extension thinks I'm logged out every time I walk away from my computer, or just the chrome browser, for more than five minutes. Being forced to click the sign in button so frequently is incredibly annoying, and really hurts an otherwise great extension. Edit: The team working on the extension have fixed the above, and everything works perfectly now! Thanks for the updates.
Great Extension, works really well. Outside of my Password Manager this is my most used Extension. I would love to see support of editing multiple sub-domains. Maybe some sort of VS Code integration would be nice, so I can use VS Code to modify locally stored files that sync Amino Editor.
Create a new account to use it? Thanks, but I won't. Sorry.
This extension has anything a developer would need and more! You can edit code for a page in just the popup and it saves each edit you make to your Amino account/the cloud, so you can view any page exactly how you edited it every time.
works
Nothing else like it! With that don't get used to it. I've use it for I about 2 years now I think. And the same keeps coming up. And now worse than ever, its unusable. As you start your work it moves you to the top of amino. You don't notice most times because you're just coding away until you realize you've yet again been pushed to the top of the editor and not where you left off. I can't get a single line entered before it puts me back to the top now. This is the worst its ever been and I've got to drop the tool now because after this long the same bug persists and that is not acceptable to me nor do I trust they can fix the problem.
Was working for a few days at the start. After that the extension stops working, I had to log in every single damned day, and usually twice or three times in the same go. Not practical, major bugs need to be prioritised and fixed
Not bad except you might want to ask if I am enjoying and to rate after I actually use it! Asking, the moment it is installed, is not going to get you an honest rating and might get you some false low ratings just because the user is not happy that they are asked a question they can't really answer yet, regardless of whether or not there's an ask later button. The point is, asking from the get-go is probably not a good idea if you are wanting honest results. I suggest waiting to ask such a question until a set amount of your extension's honest-to-God, real physical usage time has come to pass. Furthermore, on the other hand, you might get 3-star ratings since someone might think "hmm, if I use 3 stars it will be within 2 stars of what I actually think about it, so that is fair enough". Programmers tend to think that way, and it would be all together easier to just do that than to come back after X amount of time to rate it again on their own implicit recognizance, especially since most users are probably going to be programmers like I am.
very useful tool for css developer
Anyone who rates this less than 5 stars is probably not using it correctly. Amino saves me SO MUCH TIME! Easy to use, elegant simple design. Simply amazing!
I have always looked for such an extension I had a bad experience with some websites and as a developer, I'm always using the developer tool to make some tweaks here and there but they're not permanent whenever I refresh the website these changes are gone so with this extension I can make permanent changes!!
Love it! Allows me to modify sites that would otherwise tire my eyes.
Sucks having to login all the time. Removed it
Amazing extension, it even supports scss
Update: Bug Fixed! Thanks Amino Team :*
Thank you Edit: Used to work fine but now it takes around 30 sec to open the popup editor
meh
Definitely the best CSS extension. I can see they know what the heck they're doing so I look forward to things refining a bit over time. I'd love to see the ability to update the styles live or maybe when user input pauses for a period of time. Ideally there would be an apply hotkey. I just find it a bit annoying to have to grab my mouse to apply changes. I don't know if it's possible but it would be great to load this in a sidebar or tab in developer tools.
Helped me do some sweet tweaks!
must-have app for front end developers
It was good then it wasn't. I've been using this extension long before it started having ads, long before they migrated their user base to the "newer version" causing me to lose all my custom css. I apparently need to login (with ads) to load a couple of lines of css I write myself. It does work occasionally but when it doesn't i have to log out and back in on a per page basis which is not fun. And how is there still no regex matching for urls. Do yourself a favor and get something else....this ain't it (anymore) chief.
it was the best live css ever, now it's so bad that you can't even use it
I followed with exciting this extension before they made required to work with an account. Since then is not so versatile. If it's by the issue of not more than 100KB the rest of developers should know that for writing extensive CSS there are code editors... There some issues related with sign in thing (ublock origin extension, or maybe other thing interrupting the proper log in). And wait for sign in is a waste of time. By the way make the panel behave like an independent window and not like a floating/intrusive window by default please....
I love it. It has an great UI and works perfectly. I would love to have in my devtools too! would be amazing (like the extension "vue devtools")
I will change this to 5 stars and a glowing review once you remove the requirement to login / create an account. It's logged out EVERY time I open my browser and only logs in some of the time for chrome and brave on windows 100% up to date. Why "fix" what wasn't broken! Please make accounts OPTIONAL **update** I appreciate the quick reply and will adjust my rating because of the great support. This extension is great and the sign in bug looks like it may be fixed. Thank you
it's just amazing
this is the best for CSS learners and flat-ui lovers, i personally learnt a lot by editing webpages with this plugin, thank you so much
Great for adding a couple of lines here and there to ease usability
Love it :) Please add color highlight for colors in the editor for example if i have color: #fff; the background for color: #fff; is gonna be white for example, it would be so much easier than searching online for color picker :)
Can't not login. You API is not working. You should have a fallback if the user cannot login.
Now requires an account for no good reason. Currently, I can't log in which makes any stylesheets I had not load. If you're going to require users to create an account, you need to make sure that those users can log in.
Requires account creation, absolute junk
Really nifty extension that makes my workflow easier, thanks!
I use it everyday to customize the pages and forms I use frequently.
amino pro alredy entered but may took long time for waiting it to submit
Edit: I accidentally found out that it adds a 500-1000 ms delay on every page load when you navigate to a cross-domain link, even if you do not have any rules specified. Old review: Oh, awesome, it synchronizes the code across all PCs I'm logged in!
aaaaannd, another developer goes subscription.
I love it but today it doesn't work anymore, all I see is this message: Your file couldn’t be accessedIt may have been moved, edited or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND Also you cannot even sign in to use it, why do you have to sign in? I'm just using the old version and disabled updates.
Wonderful up to the update. Tried the solution by Mike - it works, but I cannot access my CSS. Give us some ETA when will it be fixed.
When it works its great - the trouble is that every time there's an update the extension breaks. Last time it was because of the sign up requirements. I got it working after that. But now i see there was an update on the 4th May and of course the extension is now broken..... Click on the extension icon and all you see is a small white empty box. Nothing happens.
Its Amazing, especially when u know css, me and all my friends use it now, thx Amino
This extension was great until it decided that you have to sign up to use it. I've never personally had an issue with the storage problem that they're talking about here, and don't understand why we aren't allowed to keep using the plugin as is until we come across an issue that makes it necessary to 'upgrade' onto an account. Plus the sign-up being required just seems rather sketchy to me to be honest, considering how everything wants to collect your data nowadays, so I guess I'll be just dealing with using the inspect element window from now on.
The last update had me register for an account - ok. Since then, every time I click on the editor icon (which I have to do every few seconds while I work on a live page) - I get a new ad. Seriously, EVERY TIME! I mean, I understand why you need ads, heck, I even clicked them for you - but I NEED TO WORK! I don't need your ad blocking my code every time I click on the icon! Terrible
Monetized. A once incredible app is now plagued with ads and annoying login requests that seem to lose session every other day. Takes me 3x as long to do the things I once did. I'd much rather have limited features with no ads, and no login. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. A shame there isn't a better alternative out there.
Worked great and was part of my workflow until recently they started requiring an account signup to use. Trying to signup gives me an error so now unusable when I need it and will have to find another.
Five starts for the efforts of the devs. A great tools. But the recent changes have brought some issues and it crashes at times. Need to reload pages in order to make it work. Please fix the bugs and love your work devs. Three claps!!!
Amazing app to iterate SCSS on a live or local environment being able to see your changes live. The support for SASS/SCSS is amazing. I integrated the extension to my developing workflow. Suggestion to the devs: possibility to use @import with local files or add SCSS files. I usually have multiple variables.scss and mixins.scss, and being able to use variables from these files, would be a killer.
Holy Moly! For the longest time I have been using live / preview editors going back nearly a decade and lately have been on the lookout for a good live preview editor as my trusted solution is no longer actively being maintained (Espresso for Mac). Personally not a huge fan of browser-plugin based solution. Never really liked Emmet LivedStyle and have always referred to native Mac applications. Gave Magic CSS plugin a whirl, but the "in-window" solution was so confined and would not allow you to do any work for mobile viewports/devices. Tried CodeKit / PrePros / BrowserSync but all were just too finicky for just live preview of (S)CSS work. C'mon guys, just need to know where the gas pedal is, don't need to be able to build the engine ;) But here is Amino. Wow! This made my day. Biggest advantages for me: - autosave/autoreload - can do SCSS - huge win! - popout window - yeah! - page / domain toggle - very nice guys! - very simplistic (this is good) inspector I know this is probably not likely, but are there any plans on let's say a full blown native (S)CSS edtiing app (or Electron app) using Blink / Webkit engine as browser? Awesome job! First day user, but will continue using this! ------ Fast forward to 2021: Still using Amino on a daily bases, however now using the latest version 3.0.19. After some initial hickups during the launch of the updated version, the new version is amazing. The Amino team has pulled it off! No more 100Kb limitations! You can now live edit in/with your full sized (s)css files. Currently Amino is now my goto live SCSS editor. It is amazing that there are very few live SASS / SCSS editors in today's world. Amino is the only editor in my (Mac) arsenal of tools that does not require any setup or configuration to do live SCSS editing on a page / site. Then, the support... The Amino Team is amazing! As long as you provide them with an issue that can be replicated, they will fix it. I was honestly a bit disappointed when the first updated version came out, and it was broken compared to the old. My disappointment soon faded. The pace in which issues were addressed and release of updates were offered were great! Thanks Amino Team for bringing Amino CSS Editor to a whole new level!
Can I pay you to revert to the original version? The new one is buggy and really annoying.
Cannot login or register using Brave, I even disabled my ad-blocker and still when I click the "Sign Up" button all I see is the loading gif. Edit: The problem has been solved
The extension no longer work since the last update. It doesn't apply the custom css.
3.0.17 and still doesn't work properly. App lost or deleted all my Amino CSS files after the last update: ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
Very bad app.
It was good but now not saving css without save & getting lots of adds.
Not working in microsoft edge since last update. It says "file not found" Edit: Amino got it fixed on the latest update.
The extension is just a brilliant tool to frontend developer. But unfortunately not work for me any more. When I click on extension it displays a popup with: Your file couldn’t be accessedIt may have been moved, edited, or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND New version is work again! Thank you for updating!
Awesome! Very helpful for some quick edits to little themes I'm building! You deserve five stars!
Slick design, all and all — a great extension. However, doesn’t work anymore. At least, for me. Popup with an error appears when I click on the extension.
The update is buggy -- and I think the signup/signin is a useless extra step imho Navigating between pages shows the old style for a split second (wasn't like this before the update) As well as what everyone mentioned, my styles were wiped out, but I had already saved them before I should've built my own extension instead of using this (which I'll do when I have more time)
All my CSS is gone! Your file couldn’t be accessed It may have been moved, edited or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
I've lost lots of css, going back to "Live editor for CSS, Less & Sass (Magic CSS)" instead. Your file couldn’t be accessed It may have been moved, edited or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
It doesn't work anymore, Your file couldn’t be accessed It may have been moved, edited or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
Stopped working after today's update... Your file couldn’t be accessed It may have been moved, edited, or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
The terrible update ever made it has stopped working and now moving to paid versions.
The update and new signup process have made it works I lost lots of CSS and can't create the account to recover that or use it.
This is exactly what I needed! thanks you so much, and for those having problems editing the style of any element try this: first put the type of the element (div, li, a or whatever) put a dot, then write the name of the class or id like this div.classnamehere {} in case the class name has spaces do this div.class.name.here {} (add a dot in the place of every space)
Saved my sanity and more!! I develop in a low-code environment that does not expand properly for my screen size. With this, I can edit the CSS and make the webpage exactly the way I want it for the whole domain!!! Can also hide overlays on some sites that want you to subscribe in order to read the rest of an article ;) Now, can read and not be bothered with a subscription request.
This appears to be selling my browsing history to something called 'buysellads.com'. You can confirm this for yourself: 1) In a new browser tab, press ctrl+shift+i to open Dev Tools 2) Navigate to the "Network" tab 3) Navigate to another URL (say, w3.org) 4) Wait for the page to finish loading. At this point, you should see two assets, 'inspect-overlay.html' and 'inspect-navbar.html'. Click either one and verify that the request URL says 'chrome-extension://pbcpfbcibpcbfbmddogfhcijfpboeaaf/<filename>.html' (the uuid of this extension). 5) Note the response headers, in particular the content security policy: Content-Security-Policy: script-src 'self' https://ssl.google-analytics.com https://srv.buysellads.com; object-src 'self'; Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy: cross-origin; Fairly certain this is used to inject third-party trackers into every URL you visit, potentially even enabling third parties to view the content of those pages.
Great and useful, but just lost 4 hours of work because I accidentally typed within Amino while refreshing, and it overwrote my work, no option to undo.. Could use a history of saves to switch back when dump things happen.
I wanted to switch to this from Stylus, but I quickly got stuck at the 100KB limit after adding a public Dark Instagram style. Stylus solves this by allowing cloud sync, which is less seamless, but at least gets the job done. Other than that Stylus is better at providing multiple styles for any page, which can be switched Off/On individually without reloading. I definitely like the design and your approach, but I guess it's still needs a bit more to be complete.
This needs an option to be "always on top" when looking for a selector, as MagicCss (https://github.com/webextensions/live-css-editor ) does. Otherwise this works as expected.
yes my guy nicolas cage everywhere
I find my self using this extension often and I like it very much but is one feature that I would like to see added: i would like to be able to add css style on url without having to go on there. the reason for this is that i added style to a page and when i go on that page it does not make changes without reloading it. i think it's because before it goes on the url it changes and amino doesn't recognize that so it doesn't applies style to the page. it would be nice if i could add css style with costum URL in my "Saved Styles" library kinda like bookmarks.❤
Wow... that's all I can say.
New Directions! o
WOW VERY GUD
It is amazing but i want it really so i can edit chrome://newtab please
I'm currently learning web development all by myself and stumbled upon this extension <3. I can't wait to create something similar to this or at least have a knowledge to make my extension one day xoxo.
Amazing UI and branding, as well as functionality!
I love the extension but we need an option to NOT add selectors in the field every time I click on an html node (or maybe it exists and I'm missing this option). Thanks!
Amazing. I love it. Thanks so much! :) <3
It was good.
It is working . just awesome . you should definitely try it
Awesome... Easy to use...
This is an amazing tool for frontend developers. It allows you to easily theme and customize any pages you use, and also test new CSS tricks out on pages that you otherwise wouldn't have the ability to do so on – I find all of this very useful and often fun (Quizlet is a nice one to style). I can't wait to see Amino be developed more. :)
Amazing css editor. Sometimes while i'm writing styles, it will move my cursor to the top of the page, messing me up. I wouldnt be surprised if this is just an issue with my computer, though. By far my favorite extension
Bloody Brilliant!
I have just started using Amino, I am loving it. I am using Amino on may other places, like If I have to disable any content block onload of any website which you don't want to show while showing to others when you are giving any demo or showcasing any work which is not yours. I am enjoying it while switching in between coding & designing.
I really like this extension and i use it daily! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great work guys ✌?
Inspection tool doesn't work
finaly an editor that Ican use!
Now, I can edit my company web app by Amino. I love this. It deserve 5 stars. Well done developers.
