If I were writing this review a year ago, I'd be writing a rave. The thing is, for the past several months, the extension shows the same pic in a new tab every single time. If I remove the extension and reinstall, it will function normally for a few days, but then return to showing the same item every time.

Just perfect, thank you who ever made it at Unsplash! Edit, I wish there was an option to load original images, instead of the small versions. They all looks blurry on a Mac retina screen.

I love the extention and the pictures. However, I have this bug that after a day or so it doesnt give me new pictures anymore. Everytime I open a new tap it shows me the same picture. Had this on my old laptop as well. Now on the macbook too. Too bad. It is fixed by deleting and installing the extention tho. Not very nice !

Wonderful extension. I love the picture selection. Being sourced unsplash, I figured there will be a bunch of "not so nice" pictures to use as your browser face. Like models and people posing. However this was not the case, all the photos are landscapes et cetera. Absolutely love the pictures!

Viewing History in the tab now longer works. Pressing Ctrl-H brings up a blank tab. I have to turn the extension off in order for Ctrl-H to work.

Was enjoying this extension, but then went to use Unsplash mobile and found that they only support Apple! Unsplash is a big enough company they could and should be cross platform to give their users that flexibility.

My bookmarks tab is gone. One of the main functionailty of new tabs...

Good to begin with but still needs some improvements to to be considered for users like us. Found your extension on your homepage scrolling for images yesterday. I used on my brave, edge and cent browser but in the former it shows black screen until reloaded. Also my main concerns is about of missing search bar, add visiting site shortcuts and time. If you could see tabliss new tab, it provides same but it not updated. Do check nightTab for more info. Do add quotes option. Also add option to see images of particular category or collections not randoms. If you could add these options, I hope we'll love it even more. I'll consider adding to chrome one day if such are implemented to keep my productivity going. Show apps option is kinda broken and should not show brave home page instead. Dont forget dark mode. and do optimize for lower devices. Thanks.

Nimbly tapping on the keyboard, my fingers spelled the single word - Unsplash. Out of the multitude of options that came up in the Chrome Web Store, one caught my eye - Unsplash Instant. I had had a wonderful experience using Unsplash in the past, so I assumed that this would live up to my expectations. And, partly, it did! I love having the amazing pictures brought right to my new tab. However, I immediately noticed something missing. My search bar! The search bar that I had taken for granted was always in the new tab was, well, gone! As I checked out the settings to see if it was just some weird default responsible for killing the search bar in my new tabs, I noticed something else (besides the lack of customizable settings). If I wanted, I could have my "apps" on my new tabs. Wow! So, I turned that setting on, and then saw the ugliest thing yet! My bookmarks were there, but still no search bar, and worse still, they were horrendously ugly! Really low quality, and just a bad aesthetic touch. All in all, this was a brilliant idea, Unsplash, and I applaud all your efforts in making the best ever free stock photo library. I will always use your website (unsplash.com), but in this extension, I would recommend the following changes (if they are even doable). 1. Make your extension just change the background behind the Searchbar and bookmark group (but keep your settings, author picture, camera settings, etc.). 2. Consider adding additional settings for more customizability. You could add filters to the type of pictures displayed (technology, nature, etc.) for example. Dear Unsplash - Continue making your good ideas better!

I love this extension and service!

Good extension, except for the "Unsplash Instant" branding in the new tab description, as others have noted. I'm sympathetic, of course, to a developer looking for ways to get some revenue from their work, but this doesn't even do that - just wastes space.

I had really high expectations for this. But too many of the images are low quality and not interesting to look at.

I absolutely love this extension and using this to make my new wallpaper collection for my desktop and laptop... thank you for that. I just have 1 suggestion, and I am sure other users would appreciate this addition too --- Please add a "Open Default Tab" button (next to the Download button) instead of going to Settings and then selecting that option. That way it is much easier to access the multiple google accounts, as well as use the shortcuts already put in Chrome, basically use our defaults and remove 1 extra (unnecessary) step.

It'll be great if there will be an option to load only photos that don't need to be stretched for 2k or 4k screens.

This extension is a must have for any Chromium browser. Most other New Tab pages are busy, distracting, or just ugly. This is the exact opposite of all three. It's also a great way to uncover new pictures to like and share. I've found so many good pictures and wallpapers through this extension. Install today and get un-splashed with inspiration!

Would be good if there was an option to show a clock and a row of top sites or bookmarks. You could also stand lose the Unsplash logo in the corner. Too much unnecessary info, not enough useful info. Uninstalled.

My favorite new tab extension for sure. Can you add a keyboard shortcut for downloading images? I like the minimal UI, but it hides the download button.

I love this extension! I use it with another extension, MultiNewTab so I can rotate my new tab images with the google earth because they're both so beautiful. One thing that I would love to have is to connect your Unsplash account with the extension so we can customise which photos and which photographers we see.

Hello team, Loved the extension! Such a good collection of photos and amazing backgrounds. However, there's a small issue I am facing. Whenever I open Chrome, multiple new tabs of Unsplash Instant open, that means sometimes I have 3 tabs open sometimes 4 - all of unsplash. And those are new tabs. It's not like I kept them opened in Chrome and they got restored in new session. I don't know if it is just me but I tried without the extension and Chrome worked fine. Please help!

LOVE this extension! I've even made an account so I can like photos on the actually website but what would make it even more better and convenient if you could implement some sort of like or love button once you have made an Unsplash Account.

Beautiful as always from Unsplash! Would just request a 'like' button or option to add to a collection on Unsplash.

Problem... I open new tabs to use them, but the pictures are so beautiful that now I don't want to use the tabs...

I like the extension overall, but I have two problems with it. 1. You cannot choose the source or the theme of the pictures. 1.1. Personally, I only care about deserted landscapes. 1.2. I really, really hate it when I have a huge picture of some stranger as my wallpaper. Because why would I have a picture of some stranger as my wallpaper? Sure, they're great pictures, but they don't relax me like a deserted landscape would. They make me uncomfortable, because they're the picture of some stranger. 1.3. I also strongly dislike abstract pictures or artsy ones. Honestly, rather than having abstract pictures as a new tab wallpaper, I'd have one stationary wallpaper of choice (which is what I used to have before trying this extension) or a new tab that's just a single color background. I don't even know what I'm looking at half the time with these pictures. And I find it kind of silly that I have a picture that's just a flower over a dark background and it says “Sydney, Australia”. Like, okay, it was taken in Sydney, but such claustrophobic picture could have been taken on any room or pond in any country in the world. The whole point of saying the location the picture was taken in, is to be able to identify a certain landscape. If it's something abstract or macro of a mundane object; that could have been taken anywhere, and it's not really necessary to point out the location. 2. You cannot change the time interval with which the picture changes. I think it would be really nice and useful if you gave us users the option to change the interval (every 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, once a day, etc). Nice extension otherwise.

there was another extension that adds the photo as a background to the search page. it had ice cream icon to it. it was much better

Great extension, quick to load, does not show a blinding white background before it loads, and has a great selection of images. Only thing I dislike is that the New Tab title bar now says "New Tab - Unsplash Instant" which is quite long and makes it a bit cluttered, would be great if you could change that.

Like everyone else I love this extension. My only request is to make it a one click to the standard tab so I can access my Google tools and the gmail link and logins. You have it in the Settings as "Open Default Tab" but it's two clicks instead of one and when you need those things a lot...unless there's a faster/better way???

love unsplash. would like to give 5 stars but the pictures are not in high resolution, as i understand this does not happen to other users, so appreciate any help on this

I use the Unsplash app and site a lot. I've grown to love the community and discovering the Chrome extension was a wonderful surprise. Two features I'd like to see, which are the only reasons why I gave this four stars, are a favourite button and the option to sign in. And if it isn't too much trouble, maybe being able to pick a collection (maybe inserting a link) and have the extension run through those specific photos. Nevertheless, I love the photos and thank you so much for making this extension.

Guys, "Love" btn is must-have, don't forget to bring it back!

Very fast, and beautiful images. Works well alongside "Background Image for Google Docs & Slides" extension. You guys should allow custom keywords like that Chrome extension does.

This is seriously my favorite, although not most useful, plugin ever created. It fuels my wanderlust like nothing else, and brings my imagination to new heights. As a designer, this helps me start thinking outside of the box the moment I open my internet browser... Get it now!

I love it, is fast and quality of pics is amazing, I am just missing a feature: to be able to set unplash searches (or "intereset") and that way filter the content.

One Step More than Flickr New Tab The extension of Flickr New Tab had been providing so many nice photos but it lacks a option of downloading it. I had make a script to grab the photo. This extension make the downloading with a click. Excellent.

I would give it a 5 star if it had more features like a search bar or a to do list.

Two Suggestions 1: If i press back after my search results opens.. it should load same picture sometime u like the picture and it changes if you come back to download it. 2:After loading pic it pans or moves automatically but after sometime it stops.. give option to keep moving always.. I would prefer a "photo of the day" instead of a "new photo for every tab". That would put my review at five stars. Other than that, absolutely beautiful. Love it.
