I've used this extension for a long time, but recently it has stopped working. I can clip an article without highlighting it. However, I read a lengthy article while highlighting it, and twice it has failed to actually save it. It says it saved it, but if any highlights are added, it fails.

I was really happy with it for a while, up until it all of a sudden stopping working recently (it almost always says it either needs a page refresh or different permissions to work and when I do either or both of those things, it still doesn't want to clip. I even checked to see if I had it open in another tab that I had forgottten about, but I didn't - it even goes through the same thing directly after I restart my computer so I know that is not the issue). I wasn't sure if it was due to an update or something on my end, but after seeing these comments and reviews I am pretty sure it is the last update or something on Evernote's side. I am currently paying for an Evernote subscription, but if the Web Clipper continues not working for much longer, I might cancel that subscription. Up until January 2023 or so, it was working fine, now I can barely do anything with it....

I would give this a 5 star but I found the choice you're giving me absolutely absurd. The extension says, I either need to give it permission to display notifications or remove it from Chrome. Normally, I wouldn't even think about it and I would remove it but I just feel like this is a mistake. I would love to be able to see the analytics since that permission was added. I bet there was a sharp uninstall rate since that update. Why would you give that as an option and not give something like Allow Notifications, Accept, Decline, or choose the type of notifications to receive. I've been working in Digital Marketing, Web, Experience, for close to 20 years with well known brands and if I was leading this, I wouldn't have let it go out. I really think this has to be an accident.

It is not working. Over the past few days it has ceased to function. I have been a paying Evernote subscriber for over a decade and the last few years it has gone downhill. If this issue is not fixed soon I might finally give up on it. Evernote used to be a gem but over the past few years it has been going downhill fast. I used to tell friends to sign up, now I tell them to just use Notion as Evernote will just frustrate them

Since the last big update it doesn't work properly, using a chrome based browser. Sometimes it clips but most times it doesn't. I have two Evernote accounts, one I use predominantly for recipes, so I like to log out and log in to my other account to clip to the proper account, since the update it won't let me log out. I have to de-install the extension to log into my other account. I need the clipper to work, it's the main point of having the note app. Please fix it, I am a paying, heavy user since 2012.

The best extension

Well, I *used* to love it, but now it's not working in Chrome. Funny, it stopped working as soon as I downloaded an installed an Evernote update. I guess I'll wait for the next update and hope it's fixed. In the meantime, my paid subscription is a total waste of money! Not happy.

Evernote's updates almost are NEVER improvements. Last update made this extension stop working properly with Chrome. It works. But no dialogue boxes anymore. I have to hard wire the clip format and notebook through options. So now you can't easily switch the notebook or add tags to clips. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this extension and rebooted chrome multiple times and nothing helps. This is consistent with many updates from Evernote. And I'm a paid user of evernote! Terrible service for the high subscription rates. Ipad app does not sync. This extension is very buggy.

I already use evernote for some of my notes. This feature lets me keep my bookmarks in one system. the simpler, the better.

I turned off the Shortcuts function for evernote because it keep interfering my app But everything this thing got updated then it default turned on again So annoying that I want to uninstall it

just spamware it dosent work and it forces you to make an account so it can have you email. I figured It would be worth the spam but it doesnt even work.

For chrome in windows it works quite stable, but chrome for m1 mac it is terribly buggy, unresponsive every day, have to uninstall and install again every time.

This extension leaks information like a sieve. All kinds of related info is displayed by default, requiring you to turn off some options. However, these settings are not synced between browsers, while the extension is. Therefore, you'll have to manually adjust the settings again, each time you use a new browser or computer, leaking information until you do.

Was working great until today. Now it doesn't do anything. I am paying for Evernote and the main reason why is because of the web clipper, but if this is how it's going to be now then Evernote is practically useless for me. FIX THIS!

The ScreenShot option makes it more reliable (though other options may hang). It looks like editing can only be done before a Screenshot is saved. No simple context menu choice to get to Console without clipping something.. I don't know how basics like that elude developers, but they do.

cannot sign in to my China mainland account to use the clipper because my computer/browser is set to use English. Really stupid.

I'm receiving some console errors - quite a bit actually in Vivaldi 4.3 recently. var ERROR="input is invalid and huge strings of errors. Updating the extension hasn't resolved the issue. ERROR in handle responses to a list of errors - actually induces thermal and CPU spikes and thermal loading conditions which, I often kill the browser and / or disable the EN plug in.

Something strange is going on. The Evernote results on the right side on Google searches only comes up when there is a Google Knowledge Panel (I think that's what its called) showing on the right as well. Not sure how to fix this since they don't show up on every search.

Pretty cool... when it works. I had installed this a long time ago and never used it because it didn't work. I uninstalled it. I just today wanted to give it another try. Installed. Didn't work. Checked their website for help. Only showed help for internet explorer. lol what? Uninstalled, reinstalled. Worked. Huh. Well when it started working it was pretty great.

In general I like Evernote. I really dislike that they never seem to fix bugs or listen to user feedback (such as the 11 year+ picture issue), but if you use Evernote then using the Clipper is a "no brainer". One of the best clipping extensions available currently. Evernote is still the king in this area, and I don't think anyone will replace them soon especially the Evernote Clipper.

The extension is now interfering with PDF display on Chrome - when the extension is active, PDF content is not displayed, even after disabling the "pdf button" option on the evernote extension.

If I wanted to bookmark a YouTube video that's in a playlist, it will set the title of the bookmark to the title of the first video, please fix this, especially now that YouTube has a queuing system, it's a bother having to open videos in separate tabs just so the extension could grab the correct title of the video.

After installing, the ability to toggle checkboxes and radio elements using the space bar is disabled. This makes filling out forms impossible when using only the keyboard. I was performing accessibility testing on a website and I thought I was doing something wrong until I finally figured out that the Evernote Web Clipper extension was the culprit. I've used Evernote for years, but I'm uninstalling and migrating to Microsoft One Note after this issue.

Funky operation lately. I would click the elephant and get the message "Loading Web Clipper." Then it would terminate before I could select notebook, add tags or notes, and save it. Pretty useless without that functionality.

I like Evernote, but their support team leaves a lot to desire. I have the same problem as above. Looks like eventually, I won't be able to use it.

Update 2020/10/30: It used to work so well... now does not matter the format that I select, the result is always a mess. It makes clipping from Internet ( e.g. stackOverflow) unusable. I am so frustrated that I plan to cancel my Evernote subscription that I had for years and use Pocket, which extension still working pretty well. This is for Version: 7.x and up.

For the developer: PLEASE make a pop up appear when you are on a page which has been clipboarded. What a powerful tool to work on websites like you are working on paper! You are even able to make PDFs automatically ready to be filled in. Great the synchronization with Android

If you have a decent computer, excellent WiFi, this extension will feel such a breeze clipping long 20-40 page articles.

Recent update breaks keyboard navigation for HTML-Checkboxes (can't check/uncheck). This is bad

I hate this clipper SO MUCH. No matter what I do, it constantly re-enables keyboard shortcuts (which disrupt similar shortcuts in Google Docs), re-enables Evernote content on Google searches (which I never, ever want), and re-enables Smart Filing (which always puts content in places I don't want). As soon as I can figure out how to migrate to OneNote I'm cancelling my paid Evernote subscription, solely due to how much this stupid clipper irritates me.

Keeps failing + symbol to click to save has completely disappeared. Have uninstalled and re-installed several times to no effect!

the version 7.10.0 causes typing errors. when I type a word, sometimes the word doesn't show up. after I deleted the evernote clipper extension, the problem was fixed. Then I download and activated it again , the same problem reappeared. Therefore, I assume it was caused by evernote clippper. but it seems to only happen in Chrome browsers. hope the bug will be fixed soon. 2020/04/07 update: Evernote clipper version 7.12.5 Chrome version: 80.0.3987.163 issue: the App was automatically logged out frequently. and it fails to work in some websites, for example this online dictionary: https://www.linguee.com/english-german

The extension is fine but it's annoying because whenever I boot up my laptop evernote immediately turns on. And it keeps signing me out, but good overall.

Web Clipper not working using Chrome Version 80.0.3987.39 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) on a Asus Chromebox 3. The clipper extension icon displays green. when I click to clip something a dialog box very briefly appears and then disappears that states I am successfully logged in. Then another dialog box appears that states "Evernote Web Clipper uses cookies to identify your account. Check your browser settings to make sure third-party cookies are accepted from Evernote." I have check and the settings are correct. I cleared cache and cookies, and removed and reinstalled the extensions. The problem still repeats itself in the same manner.

Stopped working since about a couple of months ago. Just like for many other users. Asking to enable for third-party cookies, which are of course enabled for me.

I've been using Evernote for years now. At first the free version and the paid upgraded version for the past couple of years. I use it all the time, it's my go-to clipper. So far, not a single problem on my Android. Where it comes to the Chrome extension, however, Evernote has seriously dropped the ball lately. The web clipper is glitching all the time. I have to uninstall and reinstall it over and over again to use it. After reinstalling, it works for a couple of weeks, then I get an error message telling me that the clipper stopped working. The only way I found of fixing the problem is uninstalling and reinstalling the extension again. It's not a complicated process but done time and over again can become extremely irritating. This is supposed to be an app enhancing productivity, come on people!! Dear Evernote, fix the glitch or I ditch your paid version and switch to another service. There comes a point where the inconveniences begin to outweigh advantages and you've reached that point.

Stopped working on Brave browser. Required third-party cookies to be enabled (which will *never* happen) and allowing [*].evernote.com or www.evernote.com doesn't seem to work. Was working this morning, so I'm not sure if this is an extension update or browser update causing the issue.

Screenshot DOES NOT WORK IF YOU HAVE ZOOM ENABLED. It doesnt compensate for Chrome's Zoom settings and I have to reset chrome back to 100% zoom each time I want to use the function!

Used it for years, but I can't login to evernote international now. It keep trying to login to Chinese server(yinxiang.com). I guess to have to find an alternative for Evernote International now.

I find this extension very useful. I use it almost on a daily basis. It helps store things for notes/references that I can refer to without having to spend time searching. The extension functions very well and is easy to use. I love being able to add custom tags, save to specific notebooks and change the title of the note for the article I'm clipping all from the extension. Syncs very well and displays on all my devices perfectly. I've never had an issue clipping an article. If you're an avid Evernote user like me then you'll find this extension very useful.

I don't like that 1 star means I hate it. I love it. But it has changed recently and you can no longer clip to any notebook except a new one. Wait.. what? What's the sense in having an organization of notebooks if you can't easily put things in them? Sigh. And, when I tried to reach customer support, their website is not available. Tells me what sort of interest they have in what I have to say...

I can see why it is one of the most beloved of features of evernote. I love the Web Clipper, too!

update: I have DISABLED this extension and rebooted several times yet it is STILL showing as the #1 resource consuming process that is ACTIVE in Chrome's task list with nearly 100mb RAM consumed and high CPU + GPU usage! I want to know why this extension is being allowed to run ANY process in the background of Chrome while I have it disabled and blocked from accessing any site?! This is very concerning to me and is a giant warning sign on Chrome's security model. This is lowering Chrome out of my "acceptably secure" list and it, along with Evernote will now be evicted from our allowed user applications policy. A shame as they were both previously our 2 top recommendations for users. Ive used Evernote for years but now they want to cripple it to allowing only two devices without payment. So, its now useless. I am transferring my note collection to far better, FREE tools (Google Keep, MS OneNote, Joplin etc.)

While this extension has been great, and has gone through several iterations (which have reduced some of its functionality), it no longer works. I received a message indicating "Evernote Web Clipper is no longer compatible with Evernote Service."

Great extension, thanks! Would be great if we could choose notes as well while saving some info, not just notebooks. Right now, if you want to clip some selections in the same article, it will create a new note for each clip. It creates inconvenience and, thus, not useful for me :(

The Clipper is a really handy tool, I just wish the web clipper also allowed for quick note taking, similar to how easy it is to clip a site. I imagine maybe right-clicking the Evernote button for a quick text Evernote menu option that allows for creating a quick text note when an idea comes to mind.

DOES NOT WORK - Doesn't clip anything - the browser extension quite literally does nothing - the only thing evernote seems to be saving at all is "notes" that I manually enter in after having to go their site,enter my notebook, it wants to show me a tutorial every time even though I select never show me this again every time, the only things it saves are the notes I type in by hand after getting all the way in their console and after their stupid tutorial - literally the service is useless. Sad, considering I used Evernote in 2013 and it was awesome,. and i don't even remember there being a paid option... now 6 years later, not only does it not perform the most basic functions, but they're asking a boatload of mone y for it .lol NO THANK YOU

I cannot say how much I love and need this extension! Evernote does it all for me. It is a "MUST HAVE" for students and writers! I cannot live without this!

Now: Used to love. Sort of like everything else about Evernote...the romance is over, alas. The Webclipper does not work at all anymore in latest Chrome, Version 75.0.3770.100. Attempt to click results in a modal that says, "Your connection appears to be offline." I'm not offline, obviously...writing this review. So sad. I miss what was one of my favorite tools. Then: LOVE. Use on desktop, mobile, iPad...so, so useful.

Doesn't work anymore since a day or so in BRAVE-Browser. As for Chromium (Linux) and FireFox there seems to be no problem. On click it pops up telling me that login to Evernote succeeded, then, a few seconds later, it tells me "Evernote Web Clipper uses cookies to identify your account. Check your browser settings to make sure third-party cookies are accepted from Evernote" I tried to allow all 3rd-Party cookies and it didn't work :((( Uninstalled it, restarted browser, reinstalled it. Does not work. Simply stopped working as per; cannot log in now. The greatest clipper ever!!!

It used be 5 stars from me but now for the longest time when I try to clip a "Screenshot" I only get the upper right hand corner and the rest is black no matter what I try or how many times I uninstall/install.

I just love it! However, I have been always consumed by this singular desire of somewhere to can keep my ideas, and here is where the amazing Evernote come into my life. So, I opened the door.

The save clip function has a massive bug in that only a quarter of the image is actually saved to your notes. I cant believe I just wasted 2 hours of taking notes only to discover the images are useless!!!! Please test your software!!

It worked well until yesterday, but doesn't work any more! When you click on it, it tries to log in and fails, and comes up with an error message that it doesn't have access to cookies. What's going on???

Doesn't work. Even though I have given access to cookies, it says can't access cookies please check your browser settings. Please solve this problem ASAP. It's frustrating!
