PLEASE SKIM THROUGH THIS TEXT FIRST: ** Right-click (Mac: control-click) the Earth/Satellite button to toggle! ** This extension increases the contrast on Google Maps so it's easier to see buildings and roads. It works for both traditional Google Maps at maps.google.com and the new one at www.google.com/maps. Toggling to Earth/Satellite mode turns off the extra contrast. By right clicking the Earth/Satellite button you can toggle the extra contrast independently. The extra contrast is implemented using a CSS -webkit-filter and is determined experimentally. There probably exists better filter than this one, and the filter will be improved in the future. Please feel free to send suggestions. Bugs: * Entering or leaving street view does not automatically toggle the contrast, yet. * Labels become a bit blocky. * The extension asks for permission to *all pages* because I didn't have time to enumerate all top-level domains for Google Maps such as www.google.de/maps and www.google.co.jp/maps (there are lots).

It works... kind of... It does improve the map view of Google Maps enough that it is usable... but it makes the satellite view UNUSABLE. The developer claims that it only affects map view, and that you can toggle it on/off... but these are LIES. The developer has known for years that these features don't work, and has never bothered to fix them.
toggle is not working in chrome, not working at all in opera. Pictures and sat view gets way to dark. There a so many comments that it is not working, maybe do something. If it works it is great.
Simply doesn't work.... you should get your T shirt, long haired software geeks to put down their coffee and fix it...
