Works like a Charm. I am using this to play my daughter's flinto class videos in my tv. I controls from my laptop chrome browser, simple.
I guess it's no longer maintained. Doesn't work at all.
Doesn't seem to cast anything it finds - does the loading line then shows the castbuddy logo. Every time.

It casted the video but takes the screen hostage while it's playing. If I try to go to a different tab or try to scroll on the page, the video instantly stops

does not find any devises to chrome cast on yes i have got chrome cast on my tv's but for some reason it does not pick it up
I was hopeful this would work but it just didn't seem to work at all well. Endless loading but no playing. Too bad it's a great idea.
I thought this would be the answer to all of my issues, however the website I wan't to stream from does not work. The extension says "No compatible videos found on current page, visit any page containing videos you would like to cast.". I know the video isn't compatible with chromecast, that is the point of the extension, to watch the videos that chromecast won't connect to itself.
It detects Video and everything fine, and I was able to queue everything I wanted up, but when it came time to cast, it just loaded forever.
Used to work flawlessly but now refuses to connect to chromecast.

Works about half the time.. the other half it sits there and does nothing even when it detects a video stream.

This is what every one wants.... :) I liked it a lot and can cast any web url video. We can queue the videos and dont need to keep your pc on while playing the videos. Thats the perfect app for chrome cast

I always wanted to cast videos (not complete browser tabs, which is very inefficient for watching videos on your TV) from my laptop browser to my TV. Though there are many Android apps in the Play Store to accomplish this, I never liked them because of annoying web ads. Today, I installed CastBuddy from the Chrome store and it worked like a charm. The instructions too were clear enough. Now, I can cast any video without worrying about ads. I completely recommend this extension. Also great are the playback controls that many other competitors omit. Kudos to the developer!
Useless to cast youtube videos. I don't know why I can't just install the old chromecast program

didn't work with chrome or chromium. no flash player needed or installed for Chrome or Chromium. Will not find any videos on sites like oscar.go.com
No directions for using, very poor design. Have not idea how to use it. Running Windows XP SP3 and google chrome, I have a chromecast device on my TV that work ok with my smartphone but can't cast using my Windows xp desktop.

Doesn't find streams, so doesn't work. Can have a stream playing in the tab and it'll say there's nothing found.
Been using it for about 3 months and will say that it works about 95% of the time. I think any problems would be more related to the source URL than the actual product - not sure though. Developers - how can we cast flash videos? Please and thank you. I like it so far - good job folks. Paired with ChromeCast Ultra...
It has worked flawlessly thus far on the sites I've used it.
This is a really wonderful extension. I use it to stream my movies and series to the TV and it's working perfectly. Although some streaming services are putting some restrictions and protections to prevent streaming, i always manage to find a working service.
Good Extension but not consistent. It captures the video all time. also high CPU usage
Garbage extension. It does not cast with your chromecast or connect anything. Take this off of the store before you embarass yourself.

Another dismal, ridiculous piece of garbage from your friendly dimwits at Google. The old version of this used to work perfectly. Then, obviously, they had to screw with it. Now it just sits there in "idle" mode forever.

Honestly, this extension may have just cured my yearning for a VLC/Chromecast plugin! It works PERFECTLY with the direct-URL option! BEYOND HAPPY WITH THIS EXTENSION!

It works better than the chromecast button which shows up on video players on most websites (the videos cast in better quality, too). I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Requires google cast extension and now google cast extension is discontinued.

It worked great previously. However now it no longer works as the Cast functionality is already built into Chrome itself and the Google Cast extension is no longer required and automatically removed by the browser itself.

Worked for streaming mp4 files from internet.
Works relatively well on most sites. But if you can please rename the CastBuddy player so Chromecast doesn't say "Cast ghagedffjalchgcgdgfindabkpnmalel", which sounds like junk. be even better if the playlist gets loaded onto chromecast itself.
Works perfect for my Chromecast 2. Cast videos smoothly from web pages.
This works great! My only issue with it is that the max volume is very low compared to other apps (youtube for example), it would be perfect if I could turn up the volume on videos even if it makes it go over 100%.
Best free chromecast app used for streaming that I've used, and I've used just about all of them. Capable of picking up on a wide number of videos from a large number of sites. Appreciate the continued attention the devs are giving this free app.

Saved my life
So far so good playing videos from putlocker. Took a while to figure out I needed to start playing the video on on the putlocker site before this would detect it, but other than that, very impressed.
This allowed me to stream .m3u8 files from my computer to my Chromecast!!!!!!!!

great app. avoids playing from your comptuer to google cast which reduces a whole lot of problems like slowing down your pc... lag... buffering issues... so far no problems my new favorite app!

It's always buffering for me. Some people will say its my internet connection but when I use other apps like castbuddy I don't have this problem
